Fervent (Condemned) (Volume 3)

I absolutely loved Fervent. When I received an arc for Fervent, I also received Torrent and Rampant. I hadn't realize that Fervent was part of a series. Fervent can not be read as a standalone. At first I was put off by the fact that I now had to read three books when I was only planning on reading one book. When I started reading Torrent, I was immediately sucked into the story and devoured all three books in one day. The Condemned series is an amazing series. If you haven't started reading if yet, you should definitely check it out.

Fervent starts where Rampant left off. Rafe and Alex are in serious trouble in this one. They have pretty much no control of what is going on and Rafe still doesn't have his memory back so he has no idea why thing are happening. We get more Jax too. Jax has a surprising role in this one and we get to know Jax a little better too. We also find out about some of the things that happened to Rafe while in prison.

The ending was crazy. Yes, there's a cliffhanger. I can't wait to read the next one, Vagrant.

5* Even Darker Stars.

These books are DARK and GRITTY.
This is book 3 of 4 in the Condemned series. This isn't a stand-alone read.
We pick up right where book two left off.
If you thought these book couldn't get any darker, you were wrong!!
This is so hard to write this review without giving away any spoilers. These books are all just filled with so much plot and non-stop action.
These characters just can't catch a break with their twisted story.
The love story aspect, it just breaks my heart that no one can find any happiness in a circle of evil.
They won't let you go, they keep pulling you in deeper and make sure you turn the pages even faster.
I love how the POV changes in the main character roles and it's not a repeat of the same things.
If you want a book that keeps you starving for more, this is your series.
As of the time of this review, book 4 (the final installment) will be available September 15, 2015.

Author Gemma James really knows how to capture a readers imagination and twist it in way that you did think it could be twisted. She will grab you from the first word and dangle you until the last never giving your chance to let go.
Fervent is the third book in the Condemned series and I promise does not disappoint. If you have not read the first two books in this series you are missing out!
Rafe and Alex are once again throw into trials that will stretch their newly rekindled relationship. Now, when I say trials I am not meaning some little ordeal I am talking things that would break any other person. To say that Rafe and Alex are strong individuals is an understatement, but are they strong enough to withstand this time around?
This book left me with a few questions and NO answers just a book hangover and impatiently waiting for book 4.

When reading this book this only took me like 2 days to read because I was so drawn into it I didn't want to stop reading and thank goodness it was the weekend do I could do it. This book took so turns that I was not read for finding out that Lucus was Jax father and that the one of the people that hurt Refe in prison was Jax cousin that was also in Prison at the same time. I don't want to put to much out there for spoilers but book has some interesting twists to it that I loved so much. This series has had me on edge the whole time. After reading each book I am ready to jump right into the next. I am so excited to start the next book tonight to find out what Refe is really go to do or if maybe Jax has got him to change is mind. Not going to tell you anymore than that you will have to read to find out what is going on in the book.

OMG! This series just keeps getting better! I love that it keeps me guessing. Just when I think I have it figured out, BAM! Plot twist! Just when I think I have a character figured out, they change. I am getting some vibes off Jax. I hope this is going where I think it is. Alex and Rafe have become very strong characters. The torture and pain they have been through would break a lesser person. And through it all, they are fighting for each other. In all the darkness that this story entails, that fact made this story beautiful. They are both determined to make sure the other survives. They have both come to fully realize their feelings for the other. But in the end, will that be enough?
I am anxiously awaiting the next book as I can’t wait to see what happens!

The second to the last installment to this series, Fervent was one of those reads where you keep thinking to yourself that things can’t possibly get worse but they do.

Those of you who already read the first two books, should be well aware that author Gemma James doesn’t hold back on the punches, so expect the unexpected!

Rafe and Alex will be tried and tried again in the most pleasurable but insurmountable brutality of quests for love, salvation, redemption, and attempting to survive their most trying of tests.

Sorry, I normally would outline the general plot and character's mindframes and inner-conflicts, but I feel as if I would spoil and ruin what's to come in this read!

Anyway, awesome, awesome read!!

The five stars are well deserved despite the dark horrors in this story. That being said, a warning is given and it's no joke!! Gemma James is an outstanding story teller and I've read many of her tales. This series is dark and the BDSM is often the worst of what vanilla people think. Add to this kidnapping, abuse, death and yes, romance for a truly dark intriguing story that one can't read fast enough. I'm looking forward to the fourth and hopefully final book in this series. Highly recommend if this genre is something you like.

Rafe and Alex. One of my favorite couples. I have been hooked on their story since I first read Torrent. Their story just keeps getting more and more tragic. Just when I start to feel like they are making progress towards being happy, something always comes along to put them through hell.

I am not a person who is easily astonished while reading and I will say that at least twice during this book, I could not put it down and probably had my mouth gaped open at what I was reading. And yes, I LOVED that you went "there"!!

This is not a story for the faint of heart. If you do not like dark romances, please do not buy this one thinking you will tough it out.

This is the continuation of Alex and Rafe's story.

These books are very dark and are not for the squeamish or feint hearted. They are books that I personally love and I'm gripped to the story that continues to evolve.

The writing is gritty, dark and full of passion. Even though these books have very explicit scenes of violence, there is love in these books a very strong love that can stand all the ups and downs that the characters face and the writing is amazing to bring forth this in some very difficult situations.

I'm really looking forward to the next book as this ended on a pretty big cliffy.

Completely unhinged and twisted!!! This couple is crazily damaged and the Author ups the ante in this installment. Absolutely a heart pounding ride filled with deranged, dark goodness filled with betrayal, revenge, and dirty goodness!!

This series needs a warning. Dark Dark Dark. Make sure you are aware of triggers before tackling this series.
This is the third book in the Condemned series and Gemma keeps us enthralled throughout the whole series.
I read all three and this is a very dark romance. I felt like the triggers and issues were handled with good taste. I suggest you read them in order so you don’t miss anything.

This is the third book in the Condemned series and it will have you in tears. While Rafe and Alex try to escape from their captors, will they find out who is behind the kidnapping and why? I loved it and could not put it down and I want the last book to see how Gemma James pulls a Happily Ever After out of the pain and hurt in this story.

Despite the kink not being up my alley (choking and hitting) I had high hopes after reading the first book. However, I ended up returning books 2 an 3 and canceling my pre order of book 4 because the books just kept getting worse and worse. After the first book there was no erotica or romance, just increasing darkness and violence.

Holy WOW!!! This book has blown my mind! The first chapter just about pulled my heart of my chest & I did not want to stop reading! And I was completely captivated from the very beginning all the way to the end! Oh and the ending... I was like "whaaaaaaaat?!" Straight up crazy good!!! A must-read!!!

Definitely hard core drama. The trails and tribulations this couple goes thru. It's just plain crazy. Almost awe inspiring. My heart goes out to them both. Victims of some sick, vendetta freaks. I loved it.

4 "Make It Hurt" Stars
Yeah, I definitely need a smoke after reading this one! I love Gemma James's brand of dark romance/erotica. Fervent is an action packed roller coaster of a ride from start to finish. Once I started reading I didn't put it down till I was done. We find out more about the often uncontrollable darkness in Rafe and just what Alex needs to survive. The cliffhanger had me screaming. I'm really hoping our heroine gets a HEA in Vagrant (Condemmed #4), the final in the series due out this August. Pre-order available.
