Neil Patrick Harris: Choose Your Own Autobiography

This is a review of Neil Patrick Harris' autobiography. This book is a lot of fun. I read it once the "right" way using the choose your own autobiography format, then went back and read it again from front to back. It jumps around that way a bit, but it is stilll very humorous and entertaining. He writes just like you think he would from listening to him on TV.

Fantabulous!! NPH is so easy to love! He's funny, super talented, creative, and seems to be just an all around great guy! I read the book on my Kindle by selecting the "where/what do you want to do next" at the end of each chapter then re-read the book cover to cover. Absolutely loved it! I hope he continues to do great things and writes another one in 20 years.

Having a great time reading this book. The premise of "Choose Your Own Adventure" is unique and hilarious! With cameo appearances!

However ... be careful if you are reading it on a Kindle Paperwhite as I am. The context has live links to other "adventures" and the book tends to skip way ahead of itself if you inadvertently hit a link (or not). It took me a few minutes to realize we had skipped past the Doogie Howser years and equally as long to find out where the book wandered off. Hint: keep the setting on page numbers so you can make sure you are staying in sequential order. Unless you don't care about the Doogie Howser years (and shame on you if you don't!!)

not what I expected. It gets confusing ,trying to figure out how to read the book. There are 2 sides and you have to keep deciding how you want the story to read. I got so frustrated at it. I stopped reading after the second chapter. I was really hoping for a great biography , because I have been a big fan, since Doogie, and I wanted to know how his life really was, as it was, and not by picking and choosing the way the story goes. Would of returned but didn't know if I could return, just because I didn't like how it read.

Bought this for a friend for Christmas because who doesn't LOVE NPH?! This is going to be a legendary gift for a fan of autobiographies of legendary people. Also it was here in two days with standard shipping. Win.

This was the first Choose Your Own Autobiography books. Glad it was NPH. I am such a fan. I found the format totally fun jumping from his real life into some of his characters lives. Glad he is a such a young guy. Perhaps an updated version in 25 years.

I withheld a star because I kept getting lost going HERE. But the narrative is great, well written and very engaging. NPHarris is much more than my simple words can describe. Talented, so very talented. Bright, articulate and charismatic. The only performer I would compare him to is the late Sammy Davis Jr. Quite a bit of the story content is about his sexuality and gender choices, which some might find interesting. We know he's gay, big deal. I really liked his stories about his theater, movie and television experiences. Loved reading about his family life, especially about the twins and David. Wow, David! NPH really does have it all!

Really enjoyed this autobiography, great to learn more about NPH and the incredible life he has led thus far. The choose your own adventure style was tough on kindle, would recommend getting the paperback version instead.
