Actually, I have not completed the book and so far I don't find it to be a "page-turner". I am happy to stop reading after only a few pages. When I finally finish it, I may be able to upgrade my number of stars for "like". I prefer something less grim.

completely unexpected and exciting plot under magical powers. it gives a clear view of the difficulties police have to investigate criminal offences made by talented people who know how to conceal their actions leaving anything but illusions.

Enjoyed the false faints in a plot that was intricately woven. Also was intrigued by the world of magic and the players who are so dedicated to reach the higher levels of proficiency. An enjoyable read.

all of Jeffery deavers novels are good but the Lincoln rhyme novels are my favorite. I enjoy the process of reviewing the evidence collected at the crime scenes. the vanished man is extremely good . It has you wondering if this criminal will ever be caught.

Wow! The last time I remember encountering so many plot twists was Ludlum's The Bourne identity. This perp is truly a magician. When, at about 1/3 of the bok, they've got their man, you think. "This can't be over!" And it's FAR from over. A great yarn that keeps knocking you sideways when you least expect it.

I learned many new things about the world of magic acts. Some of the plot twists were a bit too contrived but all in all, the book was so exciting and interesting that I couldn't put it down until I finished it!! One of Deaver's better Lincoln Rhyme novels.

Jeffrey Deaver never disappoints and this is no exception. I have enjoyed every Lincoln Rhyme book I have read. In typical fashion (a la Perry Mason), there are plot twists that leave you scratching your head but then you realize this is Jeffrey Deaver and it all becomes clear.

Deaver keeps you guessing until the end. It was great fun learning about magicians, illusionists and the like. At first it was hard to keep track of the characters and as usual Deaver bough them all together.

Really good book! Really interesting stuff about
magic. I was getting tired of reading his books as
they seemed to be all the same. This was
different.
I would recommend this for a good read.

I have been reading Jeffry Deaver for several years and have really enjoyed his work, but this one was not one of my favorites. I found the ending to be cluttered and confusing, like there was no way to end the story.
