I enjoyed the book, but unlike several of her others, I put it down halfway through and picked it back up a week later. I usually read them straight through. The other characters will of course, have stories of their own in future... I hope. They seemed to all have interesting tales to tell in the background of this book. I look forward to reading more of Maya Banks books.

What a disappointment!!! I bought this book because of the high reviews and can't believe I wasted my money on it! I've read some less than stellar books but this one takes the cake. First, sheltered girl is a virgin, meets guy, sleeps with him the first night they meet...then it's deep unconditional love?!! Totally didn't work for me. There was no real deep connection between the two protagonists and their connection was totally contrived! What's more, the dialogue between the characters is cliched and something people with a stronger backstory may say. If you want to read a contrived love story with sub-par action scenes ....this book is for you. Otherwise, please don't waste your time on this book.

I totally agree with MC and Tbascoebuzz. This book started out to be quite exciting. It was a bit much to accept that Gavin and Ginger had never tried adoption, especially since they were so willing to take Ariel when she was dropped on their doorstep, but that was a minor detail for me. I didn't even have too many problems with how DSS ran their operation. My trouble started with the f*** word which seemed entirely excessive. Even sweet, sheltered Ariel found no trouble using it. And then there was her relationship with Beau. She barely knows the man and finds no trouble seducing him only a few hours after they meet. He immediately finds her the love of his life, a woman to cherish above all others for the rest of his life, and is at once willing to die for her. A bit much to accept.
The book wastes too much time on their love affair and on the DSS team deciding what to do. By the time the action starts to really roll I was bored and found my self skipping. The two reviewers I mentioned above have stated the problems with much more clarity. Take a tip and really read their reviews. Then if you decide to buy the book anyway, you have been warned.

Move over fifty shades? Seriously? If I have to read one more time how protected Ari has been all her life I'll be sure and throw this book out the window. I have liked other books by this author but was sooo disappointed with this. I don't think I'll even bother finishing it. So boring

Another deliciously wonderful novel with the strong alpha male being brought to his knees by the love of a smart, strong, amazing woman. Now I can't wait for book 3. I love Maya Banks writing and storytelling and can never get enough.
