What a "breath of fresh air" this book is - usually health books are boring and hard to read. This one starts out with humor, and is very easy to read. I love it. I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to change their life for the better.

Ok quick disclaimer, Kevin may be a friend of ours but know he earned every star of this review.

The diet industry turns over a whopping $64billion a year, selling diets that don't work to people desparate to change their lives by losing weight-I used to be one of them. But as we know diets don't work. But what does?
Enter Kale and Coffee, no dogma, no specific diet to follow, just common sense advice around some of the biggest misconceptions-sugar, salt, fasting and more.
If you're tired of reading the same old boring health advice, this is the book for you. Fresh, funny and full of real life experience, Gianni helps fold the diet myths so you can live a healthy, happy, long life. What's not to love about that? Brilliant job!

I have been following Kevin and Annmarie for years and they have been such an inspiration on my personal health journey! I appreciate the research, knowledge, and honesty they always put forth! So happy to have a copy of this book on my bookshelf. It's hard to find health books that are actually fun to read, while being informative. Great read. Thanks you guys!

I absolutely enjoyed this book because I could relate. I went for about a year and a half without meat but started getting sicker so I had to start eating meat again. Like Kevin, it wasn't and it still isn't easy because during that year and a half I developed a respect and love for all living beings. Thank you, Kevin, for all that you did to confirm what I felt had to be true. This is a very practical and easy to read book. I am so grateful to be gifted with this material.

This is my new favorite health/wellness/inspiration guide. The honesty and tenacity of this "longevity frontiersman" reveals our vulnerability, incredible strength, and the choices we can make to tend to the precious balance that leads to great health. Kevin opened up my mind to so many different ways of going about being healthy...and I'm giving many of these ideas a go. I feel empowered and excited in a way that feels good to me. That's what stands out so much...the book is written from the perspective of YOU finding YOUR personal best health...in ways that end up working for you. No cookie cutter guarantees...instead you get real options that readers can reflect on and integrate as it feels right for you. THANK YOU, Kevin! I'm buying multiple copies to hand out to friends and clients. This is a great way to present wellness to your loved ones in a non-threatening, fun, and approachable way.

I really like Kevin's approach to a more balanced diet and lifestyle. I am someone who is easily drawn in to extreme healing diets, and I have been trying to find balance for years, so reading about someone with the same experiences and seeing where he is now is very encouraging. I like that it isn't just about diet and exercise, but about taking care of your body, mind and soul.

Thoroughly enjoyable reading his intimate diary of how one mans quest for health becomes his mission. Comparing and researching all areas of fads and trends and how you really need to know you to work out what's best for you.

Full disclosure: I've known Kevin for years. But that doesn't take away from the fact that this book is a must-read for anyone who's fed up with the confusion and misleading claims in the world of health and just want a little more balance and sanity in their lives.

A little back story about this book (in case you're interested)...

Several years ago, Kevin and his wife packed up their lives and roamed the continent in an RV (they called it the "Kale Whale") to explore all the natural health avenues they could find. They interviewed hundreds of experts and created more than 900 videos on Youtube (check out "renegade health").

They tried all the diets: Raw vegan…fruitarian…paleo…organic…and everything in between.

And you know what they found?

They found that the deeper they dug into dieting and nutrition, the more confused, conflicted, and even obsessive they became with their health.
Since then, Kevin (and his wife) have found their rhythm and now live a more balanced - non-fanatical - life and feel better than ever. And Kevin's so passionate about sharing this message that he's written this book to help you do the same.

What I love about this book is that it's a representation of the fact that you don't have to live "either or" but rather find a moderate approach that works best for you. It's filled with great health insights, stories, and wisdom to help you sift through the crazy world of health and nutrition.

So, if like so many others, you're tired of all the confusion and dogmatism in the world of nutrition and health, then you'll love this book.
