The Gift of the Magi and Other Stories (The World's Best Reading)

This was purchased to help a student who has trouble reading words in print. I allowed the student to use my Kindle and the student had a wonderful time reading this story and wants to read more of O. Henry's writings.

This is the most beautiful version of the Gift of the Magi I have ever seen. It brings the story into a relatable scene with wonderful illustrations that make you want to read it again and again. I loved it so much I bought 20 copies to give as gifts.

Fairly well-known tale even for many who have not read this short story, but a real feel-good narrative. There is good reason that O Henry was known as the master of the short story, and this is his best-known.

Instead of demanding of each other, they give to each other. It's the secret of a happy long-term relationship. I read it in high school and gave it to my son and his fiance for Christmas. They loved it too.

This is a wonderful short Christmas story, long a classic, which seems almost new with these beautiful illustrations. It will be in our family for a long time, we're sure. (After resisting the purchase in a store, we were delighted to find it on the store for about half the price!)

These stories are special favorites of North Carolians since O. Henry was born here! But add Michael Dooling's illustrations, and you have a double winner! I"m giving this book to new babies to get them off to a good start!

I have never received anything from the store that I was not pleased with. The packing, product and delivery time have been impecible.

I might tell u also that I have your first model of Kindle and absolutely attached to it. It is wonderful to use while waiting for the Dr. or Dentist or anytime actually. I have arthritis in my hands and its very difficult for me to hold a book open to read it. The Kindle is perfect!
