After reading The Wolves, wanted to start at the beginning of the John Wells story, was not disappointed. Good thriller and story, planning on reading them all now. Living in the Hudson Valley hoping to catch the author sometime a local book signing.

So much happened at the end and yet Berenson seemed to just gloss over and get finished for the sake of being finished. That was disappointing. Otherwise I did enjoy the story. Popsjeep2 (formerly red jeep)

I bought this book because of the Vince Flynn review, and I love all of the Vince Flynn/Mitch Rapp books. This book wasn't bad, but it definitely wasn't a page-turner for me. There really wasn't as much action with the main character as I had hoped for. It is scary to think about how easy it would be for terrorists to attack our country as they did in this book.

Move over Brad Thor and Vince Flynn...Alex Berenson has joined your club. After reading this novel, John Wells has become one of my favorite characters. I have completed the entire series. The books are full of action, intrigue, and politics, plus offer historical insight. Definitely 5 stars!

This novel was recommended by my son who read the book in 3 days (I finished it in 5 days). This is my first Alex Berenson novel, which has a brilliant character (John Wells) who compelled me to keep reading... a real page turner with lots of action.

I read Midnight House first and liked it better. I just finished the Night Ranger and liked it even more. I guess this is okay for background material on the characters. It contains a lot of flashacks to develop the characters.

I wish our wishy washy elected officials had to spend a week with a real operative like John Wells - things would get done instead of just talked about!
Very compelling and believable story and characters you actually care about - unusual in an epic of this kind. Definitely going to read more from this talented author!

After hearing Alex Berenson on Hugh Hewitt's radio show I downloaded the Counterfeit Agent for my Kindle app and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was a John Wells novel so I did some checking and found this, the first in the series. Still a relevant storyline today, I found the Faithful Spy hard to put down. The quality of the writing, the drama, the excitement, the love story, the heart-pounding climax - all very reminiscent of the late, great Vince Flynn. I plan to move on to the next book in Berenson's series. I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did.

Smart, entertaining and ended decently, which is often a weak point of serial thriller books. Characters mostly believable and well developed, cultural scenes and settings are accurate and engaging. Protagonist is a bit stereotypical, but in a forgivable way. This is good pulp fiction.

Berenson presents a fascinating account of the struggle we've been engaged in with terrorists. Readers will ache for the titanic hero, John Wells, who represents the efforts of our unknown Special Forces members.

instead of reading a great book, if that makes any sense. I enjoyed the read very much, but did it didn't really feel deep. I decided to try a new author after devouring the Barry Eisler John Rain books multiple times. I am accustomed to much greater detail and depth of the characters and locales.
All in all, though, this was a very fun read and I'm looking forward to the next in the series. If you read it you will not be disappointed.

Maybe the scariest book I have ever read. Deranged, highly focused foreign terrorists on US soil. Highly professional writer produced what I would say is an air tight plot and characters. A very exciting book not for the faint of heart.

Fun and forgettable - although certainly nothing special as far as writing goes, the book mostly carries a good pace and is great for the beach, a plane ride, or just lounging around. I'll be buying the next in the series, although more as a filler than with any great anticipation. My main reason for writing this review is - the store, THE KINDLE VERSION is simply ATROCIOUS as far as PUNCTUATION goes, and seems to get worse as you head towards the end of the book. Ort o be,more specific itget sdistractinga nd annoying. FIX IT PLEASE. After getting the Kindle this xmas (2010) I've found this to be a recurring problem - cmon, how hard is it to use a spell checker? Inexcusable.

At times the most interesting way to learn about a place and their people is thru fiction. This is a fascinating story. One way to learn about Afghanistan and jihadists. A bit violent but a good story.

This is a gripping book - not dissimilar to Frederick Forsyth. Interesting that Berenson does not resile from the issue of American belligerence or the boorishness of departmental bureaucrats.
At times it does test the limits of credibility but nevertheless it is a thoroughly enjoyable book

Sent for Alex Berenson's first John Wells book the minute I finished his most recent one, The Counterfeit Agent, and the book arrived in top condition, promptly, and I have enjoyed it a great deal. Cheers, Patrick DeYoung
