I love Kristin Hannah's style of writing, that being said...Distant Shores was not a favorite. The story, in my opinion, did not flow as nicely as her other novels. The characters were dull and very predictable.

A couple that has been married for 24 years, separates to re-examine their situation. Their two daughters have left the nest, and now it's time to face their relationship as they are in the new post-child phase. Touching, well written and a great read.

The story of Birdie and her road to finding herself after 24 years if marriage, children and putting all else before herself is a powerful lesson for all women. Kristin Hannah, as always weaves a vivid story with powerful women characters with whom you want to sit down and have a cup of tea. Instead, sit down and enjoy a fe cups of tea while reading this wonderful book.

Kristin Hanna is awesome. So many authors write many books and the seem to have the same storyline just different names and locations. I don’t find that with Kristin Hanna’s book . I really enjoyed this one even she’d s few tears.

Kristin Hannah scores again. Different but the same-wonderful characters with flaws like regular people! Nice to know they can survive and even thrive after having problems. Gives hope to the rest of us!

She never disappoints, the story unfolds and pulls you into the lives of her characters. This book ended way too soon. I wanted to know how Birdie did in grad school and if her daughter's regained closeness to her.

I bought my first Kristin Hannah paperback (Summer Island) at a garage sale & just had to put Her on my favorite author list. After I read it, I downloaded Distant Shores & just finished. I enjoy books that I can highlight areas that seem to pertain to me & give me hope about my own life, which both of the did. Ready for my next one & can't wait to get started!

This was an excellent book. I always love most all of Kristin Hannah's books. They really hold your attention and they are always so well written. I would definetly recommend this book. Get it for yourself or it would even make a great holiday gift. You won't be sorry.

Despite being predictable, this was an enjoyable read. The characters were well-crafted; I felt like I knew then when I was done reading. It's not the genre I usually read, but enjoyed it nonetheless.

This book was a good read. Would recommend. The only downfall I have of this book is I felt like there should have been a bigger climax to the story and there wasn't. This book felt like it should be saved for one of those rainy days while you're curled up since the story took place in such a dreary place.
