Robyn's Carr Virgin River series is one of the best long standing series I have read in many years. Her characters come across as real every day small town citizens that you can identify with. Each story is memorable and can be read as a stand alone book or a continuation of all the wonder characters from previous books in the series. Cannot wait for the next book!

Ditto, I really liked this book. I enjoyed how it told of new characters, but filled us in on the characters from previous books. I hope Ms. Carr is working how some more books in the Virgin River Series. Has anyone heard anything about future books? Her web site doesn't say.

Robyn Carr continues with the series and continues to remind us who live there. She always involves all of the characters from previous books from the series so we always continue to find out how all of the characters are doing.

This was my first Virgin River novel. I feel as if I was duped. I was expecting a story that focused on the Erin/Aiden romance but what I got was what seemed like a dozen characters that each had their own lengthy story. I understand needing a subplot or two to support the main plot but there were so many in this book. I can see how fans of this series would like it, but for a new reader like me, it left a lot to be desired.

I have been a VR fan since the beginning and although I found Moonlight Road to be better written than Angel's Peak, it was a bit too much on some points. I am tired of Rosie's speech impediment. Mel just got on my last nerve, always getting her way. Jack finally has the guts to tell her no for once. Do we really need to know the details on Erin's sex life and how she gets to orgasm? I don't. Although it wasn't as much as Angel's Peak-please leave the sex to the bodice rippers authors.
I did enjoy the Erin and Aiden characters and reading about the other residents of VR. I agree with the reader who thinks Robyn Carr needs to start a new series-without all the sex please.

Rating: 2.5 stars __Contains explicit graphic sexual content
Note: 11th in the Virgin River series of more than 20 books.
WARNING: soap opera style format, with so many supporting characters and subplots, is confusing if you are not reading the series in order.
EASY READ. Engaging storyline, strong characters, sassy dialogue, funny situations, and the characters have some sensitive moments. HOWEVER, the writing is repetitive, details sloppy with a lot of typos, the hero's ex is a little scary bizarre and for a supposedly intelligent man, their meeting, marriage, and split was very contrived. The midwife's quest for another baby was bizarre, selfish, and really annoying, too many secondary subplots and characters made the storyline fragmented, the language continues to be bleep-able, and more lusty sex than romance, all of which detracted from the storyline.
THE STORY follows Navy physician and OB-GYN, Aiden Riordan, and workaholic and tax attorney, Erin Foley. As the story unfolds, Erin is experiencing a mid-life crisis when her younger siblings leave home to pursue their own lives and she decides to hide out in the mountains for the summer. Aiden has just left the Navy, and is in the middle of a hiking retreat to contemplate his future when he startles Erin, who knocks herself unconscious and requires a trip to the hospital. Needless to say, negative first impressions and half-truths lead to faulty assumptions which they must overcome before they can get together. Meanwhile, Mel tries to bully Jack into getting a baby any way she can, and the Riordan brother's staunch Catholic mother, Maureen, decides to explore the possibility of love after retirement with Presbyterian minister, George.
OVERALL, a poorly written, but easy continuation of familiar characters and storyline. The VIRGIN RIVER series includes more than 20 books starting with Virgin River (2007).
You may also enjoy the complex characters and storytelling of N. Bruhns, A. Stuart, or E. Palfrey. For sweet, funny, heart touching romances, try Susan Fox, Cara Colter, or Nikki Logan.

The best Robyn Carr book I’ve read yet, and I’ve read over 25.
I laughed for 24 hours over some of the dialogue, held my breath in suspense and ended the book feeling high on joy.
This series has the best darn characters and it is wonderful that they are not lost as each new addition to this series is published.
I savor these stories, waiting until I need a boost or shot of love or just know I’m going to read a fantastic book. Sometimes, I just need to be sure a book will be good. This series is IT for me.
A little sexy, feel-good, romance with full-functioning characters that are relatable, situations most of us have experienced or know someone who has, small-town bonding and so much more. Robyn’s writing is suburb, witty, intelligent, well-researched and never boring.
I’m smitten.

As usual, this installment focuses on several story lines, the main being Aiden Riordan and Erin Foley. Aiden is one of the luscious Riordan brothers. He’s an obstetrician who just left the Navy and is living in one of Luke & Shelby’s cabins while he decides what to do with the rest of his life. He’s let his beard grow out and spends his days hiking.
Erin is the big sister of Marci who we met in A Virgin River Christmas. She has fixed up Marci & Ian’s cabin into a wonderful getaway and is spending the summer there trying to figure out what to do with the rest of her life. She’s spent her life essentially raising Marci & her brother Drew since she was 11 years old when her mother died. Marci & Ian are married now and expecting a baby soon. Drew is away at medical school. So Erin is alone for the first time since her father died years ago.
Erin is working in her yard when Aiden comes hiking by looking and smelling like a vagrant. She freaks, falls, hits her head and passes out. A few days after she gets home from the hospital, Aiden comes back by to check on her and decides he wants to pursue a relationship. Let’s just say, she takes quite a bit of convincing. But he finally wins her over with his sweet and attentive ways. Meanwhile, his crazy ex-wife comes to town declaring that their divorce was never filed, so they are still married and she wants to try again. You can read between the lines, that she actually has some other motive.
Along the way, there are several other stories. Mel wants to have another baby using a surrogate; Jack does not feel the same. Shelby is very pregnant and has a beautiful son. Art finds his old girlfriend from his previous group home. Luke has to figure out how to handle that situation. Mom Maureen and George start their cross-country travel adventure in their new RV with a visit to Virgin River. I love the Maureen/George and the General/Muriel stories – it’s refreshing to see older couples enjoy their new love lives. Sean has served his tour overseas and he, Franci & Rosie are in Virgin River before they leave for his next assignment. Look for some cute vignettes involving a bear and chocolate chip cookies, Luke & Mel’s son with potty training issues, and the adorable Rosie.
It all comes to a head with a suspenseful standoff between Aiden’s crazy ex-wife, Erin & Marci that jeopardizes Marci’s baby.

A lovely addition to the series. In this book we catch up to another Riordan Aiden the doctor and Marcie (from book#4) sister Erin. Erin feels alone after her sister Marcie and her husband Ian moved out and Erin younger brother goes off to do his residency. Erin comes to Virgin River to stay in Ian's cabin for vacation time. Her first interaction with Aiden in her yard is humorous where she believes him to be a vagrant. So start this new relationship /connection where Erin. As they both found out their initial meeting didn't show the real Aiden or Erin and the embarked on a relationship that turned into romance. We get to see the previous Riordan brothers who feature in their own books. Luke and Shelby are about to have their baby Sean and his family and their mother Maureen and her beau George. If all this family connection and interaction was enough the author throws in a little action of Aiden ex sociopathic wife showing up and wreaking havoc. Another bonus is a a large subplot of Jack and Mel and her coping with not having her uterus anymore.

Moonlight Road is by Robyn Carr. It is a Virgin River novel. It has realistic characters and situations.
Erin Foley has spent the majority of her thirty-five years taking care of her brother and sister and building her law practice in Chico. She kept the family going after the deaths of their parents and had done a very good job of it. However, it had been to the detriment of her social life. Her sister was married and expecting her first baby in a couple of months and her brother was in his residency. Erin now had time to finally take a vacation. She had asked her brother-in-law if she could spruce up his cabin in the mountains and use it as a vacation spot. He said it was now part hers since she was now family and she could do what she wanted but to please keep the essence of the place intact. She managed to do this by email and was pleasantly surprised when she got to the cabin. Now she just had to figure out what she was going to do while at the cabin.
Aiden Riordan had just gotten out of the Navy and was taking his long needed vacation. He was staying in one of the cabins belonging to his brother Luke and spending his days hiking in the mountains. He wanted to stay close by as his brother Sean was coming home to pick up his wife and daughter and take them to the next base where he was assigned. His mother and her “friend” George were coming also so the family would be together for the first time in a long time. He also wanted to stay until Shelby, Luke’s wife, had her baby, his first nephew.
While he was out hiking, he came upon Erin’s cabin and scared her. She hit a pot and it fell and knocked her down and she had a cut on her head along with a slight concussion. Until she was in the ER, she didn’t know he wasn’t a vagrant as he was dirty and smelled. Besides, he was carrying a big pole and a machete. He didn’t tell her until later that he was an OB/GYN and was looking into hospitals and clinics around the area. He definitely was between jobs. Little did he know what a role she would play in his life.
Erin wasn’t looking for a partner simply because she didn’t think she would ever find someone now. Her law practice was her life along with Ian and Macie and her brother. Aiden wasn’t looking for anyone either. He had been married once for three months and declared never again would he trust a woman with his heart. But now that he had been the cause of her being in the hospital, he felt obligated to check on her. Then he decided to put in a garden for her since it seemed she wanted one and wasn’t in shape to put it in. It was more of an “I am sorry” gift. As the garden grew, so did their attraction. Where will it lead?
Lots more action and situations arise in the book as you have then entire village getting involved in one way or another. Aiden’s ex-wife shows up and really puts a wrench into the lives of Aiden and Erin.

Erin is at a crossroads in her life. For the first time since she was a teenager she has no responsibility for her younger siblings. Her brother is now a doctor and her sister is married and expecting her first child. She's been focused on work and her family for so long that she doesn't know how to have a life! So she decides to use her brother-in-law's cabin in Virgin River to rest and try to figure out exactly what to do. That's before Aiden Riordan startles her out of her contemplations. An emergency room trip later and things start to heat up.
Aiden is a Navy doctor who is on leave and also trying to figure out what to do with his life. His brothers are happily married and his mother is shacking up with a man, traveling the country in a RV (something Aiden is still trying to accept). Aiden tried marriage eight years ago, only to find himself married to a woman with what can only be called sanity issues. But something about Erin makes him think he's finally found the right woman and for the first time Erin finds herself truly falling in love. Just when everything seems perfect, the nightmare of Aiden's first wife drops back in their life. Can they work though the havoc she stirs up?
Erin and Aiden might be my favorite Virgin River characters since Jack and Mel (who also appear in a subplot that is not to be missed). Readers of the Virgin River series will definitely love this one and new readers will find themselves as addicted as the rest of us! Full of laughs and romance Moonlight Road shows that Robyn Carr simply ROCKS!

I've made it no secret that I thoroughly enjoy the Virgin River books. Something about this one particularly really touched me.
Being so far into the series, there are many things that are easily predicted. I have no problem with that. The journey is always fun either way. In this book, it was one of the side stories that was a bit of a surprise for me. I don't want to spoil anything, but a side story with Jack and Mel had me at first mad, then sad. I didn't expect it, but once all was said and done I realized how invested in her characters Robyn Carr is, this was a story that truly needed to be told.
Also, it was great to see Ian and Marcie again. Their story was really one of my favorites so I enjoyed having them pulled back into the fold.
One last thing, Carr's attention to detail never disappoints. She really does her research before writing about medical and legal matters and I appreciate the hard work she puts into her stories.

Erin Foley returns to Virgin River for some long overdue R & R....in fact, she hasn't taken a vacation in at least ten years. Erin first appeared in A Virgin River Christmas when she tried to retrieve her sister Marcie from Ian Buchanan's rustic cabin. Now that Ian and Marcie are married and living on their own and brother Drew has finished medical school, Erin can take some time for herself. The problem...she has no idea how to relax. She renovated Ian's cabin to have all the creature comforts but she's bored out of her mind and has three months of this "bliss" to look forward to.
Aiden Riordan is separating from the Navy after more than ten years of service and has decided spend some time in Virgin River before he decides his next career move. He's an OB-GYN and hasn't even decided where he wants to live. He's roughing it in the woods, scruffy beard and all, hiking through the town's mountain trails.
Aiden surprises Erin during one of his hikes when he suddenly appears at her deck, causing her to fall and have a concussion. He takes her to the hospital where she continues to assume he's a laborer and he does nothing to discourage her misconception. Aiden continues to visit her cabin, handling her gardening. He finds her intriguing...she is oddly attracted to him. It's not long before they begin a romance.
What's charming about Erin and Aiden's relationship is that they are both at crossroads in their lives, and not just their careers. Aiden wants what his brother,Luke, has found with Shelby and Erin wants what her sister Marcie has with Ian. They recognize something's missing but didn't see each other as the solution. Aiden doesn't take Erin as seriously as she takes herself and she learns to just breathe because of his influence. Their romance evolves so naturally, with lots of humor and great banter.
This story does include some tension as issues related to Aiden's first marriage surface. Other characters from the series make an appearance, which is part of the Virgin River charm. You cannot help liking this couple and pulling for their relationship. There is a scene involving a bear you don't want to miss, too.
I loved the story, Aiden and Erin, and the continued spirit of community in Virgin River. This is a worthy installment of the series and I'm off to the next one.

Moonlight Road is another in the multi-series Virgin River books by talented Robyn Carr. This is my third in the series, and though not in order, I'm enjoying the recurring and new characters as much as if I had started with the first book. As with her other books, Moonlight Road is characterized by strong, well-written characters, interesting and realistic plots and enough emotion to keep the reader choked up or smiling. Sometimes both. Ms. Carr is a master storyteller, and it's easy to see why the Virgin River series has gained many followers.
Attorney Erin Foley needs a break from duty. She's been the rock of support for her family since she was eleven, first assuming her mother's role when that woman died, then becoming a parent to her two younger siblings when they lost their father. All the while, she cooked and cleaned, studied and passed the bart exam, then worked nonstop as an tax attorney in Chico, CA. Her brother and sister have finally left home, and Erin who never took time for herself has decided to spend the summer in her sister's and brother-in-law's remote cabin just outside Virgin River. First, though, she has the rustic cabin remodeled with indoor plumbing and electricity.
Almost immediately, she runs into Aidan Riordan, who is hiking in the woods nearby. Startled by the bearded man who appears to be a smelly vagrant, she bumps her head and falls onto the deck. Aiden treats her bruises, then insists she let him drive her to ER for a medical checkup in case she is concussed.
Aiden, fresh out of the Navy, is taking some much needed time off until his sister-in-law delivers her baby, then he plans to find an OB/GYN clinic to set up shop. However, he lets Erin think he's merely a medic. The two clash at first, but after he comes back to check on her, they begin to enjoy each other's company.
Amid their growing interest in one another, the reader is re-introduced to the large and gregarious Riordan clan, Erin's sister Marci and her husband Ian, and several other Virgin River residents. As is typical in a Robyn Carr book, there are several ongoing stories revolving around the main love interest, all designed to keep the pages turning.
Erin's and Aiden's road to romance turns rocky when his ex-wife shows up. Erin at first has doubts about Aiden, but then decides this gentle man whom she has come to love is worth fighting for.
Do yourself a favor and pick up Moonlight Road and get to know the fascinating characters who live and love in Virgin River. Two thumbs up for this warm love story.

Erin Foley's character was first introduced to the Virgin River series way back in book #4 (a Virgin River Christmas) now she's back and whole lot nicer for book #10 (if you`re counting) After raising her younger siblings then watching them marry and settle into their own lives Erin is now without any responsibilities for the first time in her adult life and subsequently is suffering empty nest syndrome at the ripe ole age of 35. She's at a crossroads and with no idea how to face her future she puts her career on hold, renovates her brother in law Ian's cabin and settles in for the summer. Planning on doing all those fun things she'd never had time for before. The only problem is Erin doesn't know how to just sit back and watch the sun set.
But this is Virgin River after all and before long a scruffy looking, machete welding former navy man and now unemployed Doctor comes crashing through the bush and into her garden. Sparks don't fly immediately with this pair as Robyn Carr always has her heroines thinking the hero is someone he's not before he shaves off the beard and reveals his true self. But through circumstances they manage to find their way together and begin a sweet summer romance. When Aiden's crazy ex wife suddenly turns up, claiming they're still married it quickly buts a kink in their affair.
Virgin River fans will appreciate trips to Jacks Bar and the many cameos/updates from past characters. Yes Mel the one we all love to hate (or have just plain had enough of) is also back with a substantial subplot involving a uterus, in-vitro fertilization and adoption. Yup theres still lots of woman talk here. Theres also a sweet story involving mentally challenged adults and marriage.
Unfortunately I never felt a real connection between Erin and Adien, their romance seemed lukewarm to me which could be due in part to the fact that Aiden is a gynaecologist (did I forget to mention that?) Anyways that kind of took the sexy out of their love scenes, listening to Aiden anatomically describe Erin's girl bits while helping get her `there' for the first time with a man sure ruined the moment. I also honestly don't remember Erin ever telling Aiden she loved him.
As with all Carr books a couple of babies are born and here I could really have done without the graphically described, medically correct, breach, episiotomy getting home birth. This may just have scarred me for life. Yikes. Carr also decides in the closing chapters that its time for a little suspense and ups the crazy factor with Aiden's ex-wife and while this was fun it also felt thrown in, rushed and slightly over the top.
Still I think fans of the series will be happy to come home to Virgin River.

Moonlight Road had many characters and issues. The ex-wife Annalee was from various places, but mostly the ex from hell. She kept things interesting. The family bonding moved the story into a warm place to be and encouraged the reader to really care about each one. Robyn Carr proved she knows about or knows where to find exact details on birthing and medical terms. I appreciate how she handled the two character's with special needs and their loveable character. I recommend this book.

Although never a mom, attorney Erin Foley feels the empty nest syndrome as the younger siblings she raised have moved on. Taking a time out to reassess her life, she plans on a summer vacation in Virgin River.
After fourteen years with the Navy, Dr. Aiden Riordan has left the military. He comes to Virgin River to visit family with plans to stay around until his sister-in-law Shelby gives birth.
When the two visitors meet, sparks fly and not just from heads clashing into inanimate objects. Still she prefers some alone time and he never moved past his horrific former marriage to Annalee. When his ex wife demands reentry into his life and much more, Aiden goes back into his solitary confinement.
The latest return to Virgin River is a pleasant tale filled with humor and poignancy as neither the lawyer nor the doctor are ready for love, but love is ready for them. The support cast as always is solid with everyone except Annalee rooting for Erin and Aiden to find happiness with one another. Although Annalee and her antics are over the top of Mount Tamalpais, fans will enjoy the latest visit to Virgin River.

A year ago I picked up a cheap book at the grocery store for something to read in the car while waiting for my son to finish school for the day (I knew I'd be early). It was Virgin River by Robyn Carr. I was surprised at how the story flowed for me.
Now, some 11 books later, I still enjoy them. Yeah, they're a little predictable. Like when you first start and are introduced to a woman and then a man, you pretty much know that the story's plot will revolve around them getting together. But there's also progression on the main characters of Virgin River (the town).
I feel like Virgin River is a real town and some place that I've been. It's crazy. I love each book; some more than others.
If you are a fan of Robyn Carr or her Virgin River series, you won't want to miss this one!

Again this series is awesome..erin being the mom to her siblings is going through empty nest. So while trying to relax and accept it, she starts to interact with a smelly long bearded hiker or so she thinks and then finds out you can't judge someone from what they look like or from their past.

I really enjoyed this. It was a bit long (409 pages) but was worth the time it took. It's not one of those books that you 'MUST FINISH NOW' (robot accent inferred) but instead one that makes you wonder how your friends in Virgin River are doing today. I'll also admit that it's one that you forget you're reading. You the kind I mean - you feel like such a part of the story that you pick the book up at a stop light and get lost until the beeping penetrates.
I really enjoyed the characters in this one. Erin, the tax attorney, who really enjoys the law and who forgets how to enjoy life. Aiden the OB Doctor who loves his job and is afraid to get close to anyone after his marriage debacle several years ago. Annalee the perfect gorgeous ex who just can't be as terrible as Aiden says.

Virgin River with it remarkable inhabitants is an emotionally rich place to visit or to live. There is a "realness" about events, conflicts, needs, and people in and around Virgin River. It makes the reader feel as if she is a part of the lives and actions of the characters.
The road named Moonlight glows like a phosphorescent ribbon as the moon goes down and the sun comes up at dawn. It hints of Erin and Aiden's story. Their pasts have had lots of shadows, making it difficult to see the way while the constrains and duties have made their lives little more than a reflection of lives other people seem to enjoy. But, day breaks and their futures become vibrant with living, loving, and reaching for their total fulfillment.
Thirty-six year- old- Aiden Riordan, on vacation as he transitions from a military career to being a civilian doctor, hikes with a machete and backpack. He is enjoying the freedom of not shaving and dressing casually. A marriage that lasted three months eight years ago makes him shy away from relationship. However, Jack, owner of the local bar, tells him Virgin River is known for being an environment where monumental emotional changes happen. He has examples to prove it.
If you have read previous Virgin River novels, Moonlight Road will seem like a visit to catch up with old friends and neighbors. Moreover, it will introduce you to Aiden and Erin and let you vicariously experience the exhilaration of romance as Aiden and Erin, an uptight, overachieving, who is taking her first vacation ever. BTW, Aiden is a lover after one's own heart!
Moonlight Road is a gentle story of people that, in the past, coped with adversity along with some severe growing pains, but they have come to a time of more mature trials, fears, joys, and a better understanding of human nature and of their own frailties.
The discord Annalee brings to Virgin River brings about some hair-raising happenings that raises the blood pressure and makes the heart pound.
Robyn Carr creates characters that give the reader an emotional roller-coaster ride from the joy at the birth of a child to the fear felt when facing a loaded gun held by a sociopath. She also creates love scenes that sizzle as one falls in love with Aiden and rejoices with Erin.

I loved Aidan and was so anxious for his story. However, I am not fond of exes, especially when they re-enter someone's life and make trouble. If not for that and how long it went on it would have at least been 4.5 Stars.

Robyn Carr expands her Virgin River series by highlighting two secondary characters, Erin Foley and Aiden Riordan, from previous books. The product description and excerpt provide an overview of the title, so I won't rehash the plot. However, since the book is based on characters previously introduced in the series, it is best to have read the series before tackling Moonlight Road. The characters and plot are just as quirky and enjoyable as previous entries in the Virgin River series with big city people moving to outdoor heaven, but the further the series develops, the more you have to have read the earlier books to receive the full enjoyment of this entry in the series.

I'm slowly making my way through the Virgin River series and so far, this is one of my favorites.
The two main characters - Erin & Aiden are fabulous characters. Robyn Carr has given interesting depth to Erin, which further explains her deep connections to her siblings and her past reactions (which appear in a previous book). And Aiden has been fleshed out as not only a genuine, sensitive, caring man (as most men in this series are!) but one who is also cheeky (in the way we all love) and who has very human responses to frustrating events in his life, which we don't always see written in these sensitive types.
There's also a slightly sinister slant in this novel with the inclusion of Aiden's ex-wife. I was genuinely anxious in a few spots with the slow build up to the final scene with this truly cold-hearted character but I loved that Carr can write in so many different aspects of human nature in her series that make each book stand out on its own.
I also loved the appearance of past characters in this novel, which Carr consistently does. (Some times there's too much taken away from the main characters but I thought this novel had the right mix.) We not only get to re-visit some favorite characters, but Carr also further develops them, which is not a focus for all authors. There's really great development of Jack and Mel (from book #1) and at one stage, I was getting really frustrated with Mel but Carr has a wonderful way of presenting characters with all their flaws, and yet providing depth of understanding as to their motivations, taking the reader on the full journey. So all is right in the world by the end!
Overall - Great read. Great character development. Emotionally engaging story. Can't wait to start the next one!

Carr pulls us into the remote mountain village of Virgin River in the California mountains not far from Chico. Here she shows us the challenges of balancing a professional life with a love life that a lot of women encounter. She gives us a peek at some of the perils one faces on his or her journey in finding the "right mate."
Carr also hints at the impact that family can have on a person and its unsolicited influence. I would definitely classify her as an author of happy endings.

I love this series! I love the way the characters are continued from book to book. This may be my favorite of all the ones I've read so far. My other favorite that might be tied with this is the one where Rick comes home from war. You have to read them in order to really appreciate them. Even "Under the Christmas Tree" is tied in with future books.

I've read several other Robyn Carr books and they kind of follow a pattern although an enjoyable one. This book sets itself apart and captured my attention from the first page and held it until the end of the book. Great story

I have enjoyed all of the Virgin River series. Moonlight Road does not disappoint. The author provides enough background that you don't need to read the other books in the series first. However, they are all so enjoyable that I would recommend readers do. Virgin River and its inhabitants may not be real or even always realistic but when you read a book in the series such as Moonlight Road, you feel like it is a real place and these are real people you have gotten to know as one of the community.
Moonlight Road is thee story of the third of the five Riordan brothers, Adrian an OB-GYN recently out of the military and Erin, sister of Marcie and a lawyer who has never had a vacation before coming to Marcie and Ian's cabin. Love prevails for Adrian and Erin in spite of a concussion, identity errors and a bear until Adrian's scheming ex-wife shows up.
The subplots involving characters from past books in the series were enjoyable. It was nice to have a story line directly about Jack and Mel. As an advocate in my state's special needs community, I liked the story of Art and Netta. The romance involving these characters who happened to have cognitive challenges was beautiful.

Cannot wait for more news of Moonlight Road characters. This was a good installment of the Virgin River series. It grabs you at the first page - just the right amount of humor and suspense and the inevitable romance. Others have described much of the book so I will refrain from doing so again. I will agree with others that it was good conclusion to 2010 Virgin River life and love. I especially liked the last sentence. While some may think these stories are 'light reads' without much meaning, I see Ms Carr's intention is to have her readers take a look at how they lead their lives and infuse love's meaning in every moment. Good job Robyn!!

If you enjoy reading about pregnant women, then this book is for you. It seemed like every female character in this book was either pregnant, or thinking about being pregnant, or trying to get pregnant. Now, I have nothing against pregnant people, but I thought this book was a romance novel? What was with all the pregnant stuff?
Anyway, the Erin and Aiden couple didn't seem realistic to me. Who gets engaged after one month of knowing each other? And their families seemed cool with it? Especially with Aiden's rotten past relationship choices.
There was so many cheesy-mushy lines in the book that made me constantly gag.
Also the dialogue kept repeating itself. Something would happen to a character and then another character would explain what happened over and over again to different characters in the book. I was starting to skim through paragraphs because I was sick of reading the same things again and again.
Well I was bored with the book. I was bummed that it wasn't a romantic story. The book is more of a home town, family love, wives holding babies, BBQ picnic after church type of story. I can see old ladies liking the book.

These characters really become a part of your life. They are pulled together because of circumstances and end up a community. I like the way the author pulls characters into the story and weaves them into the fabric of the mountain town. I wish there was a Virgin River to visit.

This book is absolutely typical of this series--hunky ex-military guy and cute young (ok, she's not that young, but she is cute) thing. The series regulars are there along with the expected happy ending.

Very good, as all her books that I have read. It is so easy get familiar with the characters, You get to know them, I am in number thirteen of this series. I just enjoy getting to know all the people .I have also read some of her other series and they just as good. They are not as expensive either.

I liked Mel in the first book, but I don't understand why she needs to be a major character in the whole series. She's pushy and annoying now. Can we move on?
Also, the reproductive information was quaint in the first book, but after that it was tiresome. Carr apparently has an agenda to educate the public.
The one thing I liked was the story on Erin and Aidan. I didn't think I would like Erin from the first impression but Carr made a believable transformation to a dependable, kind character. Aidan was likable, although I wish he wasn't yet another health professional associated with female reproductive systems.

Absolutely love this series. Another great story. I enjoy how each book allows you to get to know another Virgin River resident while continuing the stories of those we have already met. Erin and Aiden are great together both are compassionate and giving willing to take chances despite the rocky road life has lead them down.

I've read other books by this author and enjoyed them. This one goes all over the place tying in so many previous characters and preaching about social issues (people with disabilities, surrogacy...) that I didn't feel like the main two were fully developed. They were so nice, had their flaws, but there was nothing truly interesting about them in this book. I read these kinds of books to take me away from every day life though this one was a struggle for me to get through. Maybe try a different one from this series?

If you like reading the following type of writing, you'll like this book: "The June sun beat down on him. He wore fatigue pants, hiking boots and a tan T-shirt with salty perspiration rings under the arms. He was wet down his chest and back and smelled pretty ripe. He carried a camouflage backpack for protein bars and water, and strapped to his belt, a machete for clearing any brush that got in his way. He had a ball cap on his head and his black hair had already started to curl out from under the edges. A four-foot-tall walking staff had become his constant companion, and since a chance encounter with a too-confident mountain lion, he now carried a bow and a quiver of arrows. Of course, if he ran into a real cranky bear, he could be toast."
blah, blah, blah, guess I'd rather watch the grass grow in my own yard, than have to read this book again. Yuck

Loved this book.Robyn Carr knows how to get the reader lost in "Virgin River". This one keeps us updated with all the sub characters we have been meeting throughout this series of books. I am very happy about that. I hope this series is going to continue.

Don't bother reading this dull, poorly written excuse for a novel. It's hard to believe that this has gotten any good reviews: the story is plodding and I've read better sentences in junior high school essays. Don't waste your time. As another reviewer explained, it doesn't even deserve one star.
