Let me start out by saying that I'm a huge fan of James Patterson. He's a brilliant author. I love just about every novel that he has ever written. He puts his talent to good use when it comes to writing.
Fang is the 6th book in the Maximum Ride series, however It was the first book I read from this series. I have to admit I hate reading a series out of order, but Fang was such a good book that it wouldn't have any problems of standing alone on it's own... Still I would like to go back and read the rest in this series...
They call themselves bird kids, cause they have angel like wings and they stick together like a flock of birds does. The bird kids have many enemies,if it's not evil god scientists wanting to improve the world( by doing harmful experiments on humans),it's the erasers(werewolves) trying to emulate them. I'm all about helping to improve the world but I have to agree with Max(leader of the flock) on this one. I couldn't jeopardize my flock after what I've learned about the not so great Dr. Hans.
Who do he think he is (DR Hans)??? He created Dylan another type of bird kid to be Max's perfect half. Come on now he may be drop dead gorgeous, but I fell in love with Fang.. Fang has always been there for the flock, fought beside them, helped Max out quite a few times when the kids got unruly. So to me Fang is Max's perfect half, her soul mate.. "You can lead a camel to water but you can not make him drink". That's the way I feel about that little scenario. So leave Fang and Max alone they're prefect for each other.

I really really really liked this book. It was a good book and also.......fang was in it. I adore fang sooooo much.
COULD BE SPOILERS!!!!!!!
If u cry easily while your reading books well then u might cry in fang. I cried twice. 1: When Fang died 2: At the end when he was gone and just left a note for Max
I though that was so sad.:( Every time i read it, i cry. But i love fang.
I dont particularly like Dylan. Come on, whats up with the: Im programmed to love u?? I think thats stupid. Max belongs with Fang. its just how it has to be!
I think Angel should just get over herself. She getting a bit annoying how she wants to be leader and stuff -come on, she's like 6- but i dont mind angel to much.
Also, just to make a point here, i think Ella and Iggy are cute together! :)
This book is better than the fourth one though (definately) Final Warning. I found that one a bit boring but thats ok, im meant to be talking about this book !!!
So if u like the other MAx Ride books, u will probs like this one. If ur new to the MAx ride series. (Start at the beggining of the series) and see what u think.

I absolutely love this series up to this point. I think Fang should have been the end of the Maximum Ride series, but I absolutely loved all the books before Fang, and Fang is probably my favorite one. The first six books were well written and had me sitting on the edge of my seat, flipping through pages and trying to find out what happens next. If your looking for a book to keep you up into the early hours of the morning, I suggest reading the first six books in the Maximum Ride Series.

Maximum Ride is an unforgettable 14-year-old girl with a way-out-of-control, hilariously sarcastic attitude. But who can blame her with everything she has on her shoulders, including a pair of 13-foot wings?
Max spent the first part of her life locked in a cage, undergoing cruel tests and horrid experiments after evil scientists fused bird DNA onto her human genes. The results produced a super-human hybrid that can soar high into the clouds. Then, with the help of a sympathetic scientist named Jeb, Max and the other bird hybrid kids escaped the evil organization. On the run ever since, Fang, Iggy, Nudge, the Gassman and Angel all look to Max for leadership, protection and guidance on their very important mission --- to save the world.
In book six, Max and her flock are flying to Africa, where her mother's environmental group, Coalition to Stop the Madness (CSM), is hosting a refugee camp to provide food and medical assistance to the needy. The flock is going to hang out and help where they can. They'll be staying in a rustic tent and eating unappetizing things like millet balls. But they've survived much worse, and helping out at the refugee camp goes right in line with their mission. And even though the flock faces the unimaginable every day, in no way could they be prepared for the next two surprise bombshells.
First, one of the scientists at the refugee camp, Dr. Hans Gunther-Hagen, seeks the flock out to introduce himself and his protégé, Dylan, who just happens to be a new avian hybrid. Dylan is technically only eight months old and doesn't even know how to fly yet, but he's taller than Fang, appears to be a teenager and is absolutely gorgeous. And according to the doctor, Dylan has been genetically engineered to be Max's perfect other half. Of course, nobody asked Max her opinion on the matter; she is very protective of her flock and doesn't let just anyone in the circle. And besides, she's very much in love with Fang.
But then the other shocking announcement makes matters even more complicated. Out of the blue, Angel reveals that Fang is going to die soon. She refuses to explain her message and hardly displays any emotions with it either. Something is changing in her, and not for the better. She even voices her intent to take over the leadership of the flock. Max is hurt over Angel's coldness and terrified about losing Fang. Max and Fang are soul mates, and nothing anybody says or does will change that. Will it?
James Patterson's incredible imagination appears to be never-ending. His characters are brilliant, colorful and wild; Max is a particular favorite with her brave soul, deep and well-guarded emotions, and hilariously sarcastic attitude. The flock faces each new adventure with spirit and muscle, while holding tight to each other, the only family they've ever known. A couple of new characters are introduced, one of whom, Dylan, promises a lot of conflict and new direction. But these books aren't just about adventure and excitement; Patterson cleverly weaves environmental issues into his action-filled plots and then crams each installment with energy and humor. FANG is another winner, and I can't wait for the next Maximum Ride novel.

I was easily hooked into this series, and I loved it right from the start. James Patterson has done an amazing job with this very interesting story. And I read all the books with great joy really. And I would have given it five stars, if and only if James Patterson had done a better job at connecting some things in the book.. Sometimes the things that happened in the earlier books had nothing to do with the last books... And the end of last book was quite ridiculous and I didn't like it that much... But it's a good series, it was a bit depressing time to time but it definitely draws you in and gets you mesmerized to read them.

Fang is one of the best books I have ever read!! James Patterson is one of my favorite authors and he is a huge genius. This book is about 6 bird kids: Max, Fang, Iggy, Nudge, Gazzy, and Angel. They aren't like normal 15, 12, 9 and 7 year olds. They are 98% human and 2% bird! When you read this book the events and characters literally fly off the page!! When Dylan becomes a part of the flock, I thought that he would replace Fang! I hope I am wrong!! I recommend this book to any Girl or Boy, Young or old, because If you like to read things that have you keep thinking what's going to happen next...this is the book for you. I have recommended this book to more than 8 of my friends!! six of them took my recommendation and took advantage of it. But if you do recommend this book to any of your family or friends, make sure that they don't tell you the most exciting part or the end, because if they do then they will ruin every thing!!!! My favorite part is when Fang is badly hurt at Dr. God's house and Max is screaming and crying for him to come back. It was touching. When I read this book I had about eight emotional break downs! So when you start reading this book, this will be your new addiction!

So the latest maximum ride book I was not particularly impressed with. James got way of plot with the whole Fang-Max romantic thing. And what was with the sudden voice inside Angles head? The predictions of "Fang will be the first to die". What was up with that. Nudge and The Gasman and Iggy suddenly all being with Angel instead of Max then trying to enforce her rules with Angle as leader. I really liked that there is a new character,Dylan, I kinda found him boring and dependent on the programing. Fang dieing I seriously did not see the point, all the things that happened without Fang being dead ( Dylan committing suicide, Angel being evil.!

The only thing that saved my review from 1 star was that it had the character max in it and that Max started to listen to Jeb(yet that stopped so that is neutral). I liked books 1-3 then... the series got... not so good. What I did not like through the whole series is that there was a series of about 6 not-so-good language in the book. Also this book was the worst so far in the series. I rate my books into a list of my favorites... Maximum Ride used to be #1 now it is #3. I really didn't like the Fang/Max stuff which was the biggest factor in my bad rating. The book was not thought out well, Angel needs an attitude adjustment and Dylan should have never been written about. The book was not thought out well. James Patterson needs to get his act together and think out his books better, I think he is trying to write to fast(supposedly he is trying to make 20+ Maximum Ride Books). Skip this book. Read the next, I think it will be called Angel.

O.k. I have loved this series for years it has litterally gotten me and my best friend through middle school but I was dissapointed with this book I was furious with Fang and Max and deffinantly Dylan can James Patterson not just let things be happy for 5 minutes the previous book in the series had me estatic i thought yay they are together but no 3 minutes into reading this we have to have creepy Angel ruin stuff for us.Now I do have to say there were things I thuroughly enjoyed it. If you have been a loyal Max fan i advise you not to read it let the epilogue of Max be your happy ending let yourself believe Max and Fang flying off into the sunset be your happy ending believe that Max and Fang grow up get married have kids live happily ever after with the rest of the flock the School therefor leaves hem alone they never have to fear labs again the end .....but if you really want to read it knock yourself ut but dont say I didnt warn you.

I was so excited to read Fang but it seemed weird. This book was totally different from the rest of the series like it doesn't belong. Dylan shouldn't have been a character, Angel shouldn't be so evil, and it was a bit too romantic and depressing. I think the book is off track from the whole 'saving the world' plot and all it focused on was the Max and Fang drama. I was glad it was really cliffhanging so i read the whole thing right after i got it- overall good but not great. If you only liked the earlier books for the adventure and action you probably wouldn't like it very much.

I thought this book was pretty good. I love Max and Fang!! And despite all the hatred towards him that I got from others, I actually liked Dylan. I dont want him with Max, but I thought he was kinda adorable! And I really cant stand Angel. I get that she thinks what shes doing is right, but shes doing it in a way thats really making me angry and annoyed with her!!
Some things I didnt like about the book:
1) Patterson seems to forget to go back and explain things he told us about. What happened to Fang`s blog? What about Ella and Brigid and all the other characters that are now lost??
2) Did Patterson forget about Fang`s army of angry kids?? Or did the kids all just give up?
3) What about itex?? Im sure the whole company wouldnt blow up just because 1 branch of it was attacked!!
4) Total and Akila`s wedding. It was cute and im happy for them....but WTF??!!

Let me tell you something. I never cry reading books or watching movies. I came so close to tears in this book and if I comes out in a movie I know I will cry. This book got me even more interested in the series. The first books were good, but this is like WHAM! It's SOOOO good. You have to read it! Don't stop because the last book wasn't good enough, this book brings everything back into place. And for once their life, they don't get captured!! Different plot, different everything. Come on! It's soooooo good. I loved this book! You'll love it to!

the maximum ride books are great, fang was my favorite character from the start. it defintetly wasnt as good as the first ones, since the final warnings it has gone downhill.i mean come on they had a total plot change, and the global warming thing sounds a bit like an ad found on tv. there is no real plot in this book, however, the relationship between max and fang was great. dylan, i expected more from. he was too reserved and perfect. these books are hitting rock bottom,i hope the new book lifts it back up. the movie, which is to come out in 2013 is gonna be horrible. there is a rumor that edward and bella from the movie twilight will be used as max and fang. this is a good read however,at least for girls i hope there is more between max, fang, and dylan. definetly read the first book!!!!

I loved/hated it. Over all i loved it. The end was a spioler! How could fang do that to her? Leave a note just to top it off? HUH? That's almost as bad as breaking up with someone with a text message. james p., i can't believe you did that!!!! What a cliffhanger. See, i'm one of those book worms thaT WILL READ A GOOD BOOK IN A DAY, AND FANG IS ON OF THEM BOOKS!!!!! What is going on with dylan? WTH! Come on ! Get a life. The whole, i can't leave & i'm your're perfect half thing. Come on.Anyway, i thought that the whole max and fng thing was cool! The dylan thing, not so cool! Max has a lot more things to worry about. i thought it was thrilling and hard to put down.I just can't wait for the movie to come out in 2013, That is if the world doesn't blow up.

Being a big fan of the Maximum Ride novels, I was disappointed with Patterson's latest novel, Fang. Some of the flock seems to suddenly gain new, annoying character traits (like whining and rebelling). The whole Max-Fang thing is drawn out, and the characters seem to change their mind and go back on their words after every life and death scenario.
Overall, the book is good for die hard Max fans. If you're just starting out with this series, start at the beginning for quality writing and work your way up to this novel.

I have been reading these books ahead of my daughter. I enjoyed the first few books, although they are clearly designed for adolescents (with the requisite suspension of all boundaries imposed by reality that that implies), and I think 63 year old men should in general probably not attempt to write in the voice of teenage girls. My daughter LOVES this series, and in general I like it for her -- exciting enough for an adolescent without much questionable content, especially in the first few books. This book, however, descends to the level of drivel. The writing is lazy and the plot at times unclear, but what is really cringe-worthy is the boy-crazed nonsense that the main character Max spews throughout. I know many strong, intelligent young women of Max's age, and even amongst themselves they don't descend to this level of inanity in their conversation. I am inclined not to let my daughter read this, lest she get the impression this is behavior to be emulated.

For starters I love the Maximum Ride series and I really liked the romance between Fang and Max. SPOILERS. So this book was pretty good, although there wasn't enough action and plot/ character developement. Yet this book for some reason or other absolutely got me in the gut and had me in tears TWICE. First when Fang dies and then whe he comes back to life and leaves Max! The note he wrote her was quite beautiful and left me yearning for Angel to bring them back together. On a bad note, DYLAN?? like wtf? He just annoys me and is exactly what I hoped wouldn't happen. James seriously don't make this a fricking love triangle. You're better than that.. also start developing the characters. Iggy has been there for like 6 books and yet I know more about Dylan who's been there for one? Seriously get rid of Dylan, I don't understand how he could possibly be better for Max than Fang?

This book is awesome! I can visualize every scene like when Max and Angel are at the dinner table and Dr. GH walks in to meet them in Chad and when Angel says that Fang will be the first to go (with Max freaking out and all). I think Max should try to get along with Dylan, but she shouldn't be as close to him as she was with Fang. The saddest part of the book is near the end, where Fang leaves the flock. When I first read that part, I thought I read it wrong and read it again. I felt Max's emotions.
I would recommend this book to anyone I know. Even though it makes more sense to start at the beginning of the series, James Patterson makes it easy to just pick it up and read. Fang is a truly fantastic book that is interesting to the young and old girls and boys.

I gave this book four stars because seriously the romance took away from the action. I read james patterson books because i think he is the best writer ever. but a love triangle ?really? I loved the vegas part and the small amount of action that was in it. and i thought the dog weddinh was funny. i really do love these books but dylan reminds me of a little creeper dude.
SPOILER ALERT
i cant believe fang left!! Thats why i need angel so i can read if max kicks fangs butt;)

I loved this book, but by the end of it, I was really sad, and couldn't stop hugging my cat. I want to read the next one, but at the same time I don't. Dylan seems like he doesn't want to play his part, and he seems nice and I feel sorry for him, but I HATE HIM!!! And then, I really don't know what to say about Angel. Seriously. I'M SO CONFUSED!!!

All of you who are saing that Dylan was the worst thing tha could happen... YOU'RE WRONG! Who will Max choose? Her best friend who has always been there for her and she loves? Or her perfect other half who would risk anyting for her? Fang or Dylan? Think about it. If Max chose Fang, what would happen to Dylan? I'm in love with Fang. Always have been always will be... but what would happen to Dylan if Max chose Fang? Or even... What would happen to Fang should Max choose Dylan?

I don't usually hate books -- even when they are poorly written (which this is) I tend to find something redeeming about the characters, or the plot, or even just the brilliance of the marketing person who managed to sell me a sow's ear posing as a silk purse. This book, however, really is hateworthy. The plot is ridiculous, the characters are trite Mary Sues, the author doesn't even bother to try to hide his manipulation, and the writing -- oh God, the writing -- is enough to make a lifelong reader cry.
When the Maximum Ride books first came out, I bought them for my daughter. She was the right age for them, and I knew Patterson was a successful novelist. I didn't expect masterpieces, but I expected competent pieces of fiction. I read the first book. I wasn't impressed by the writing, but the premise carried me through. My daughter wasn't terrifically enthused by it, but she didn't dislike it. I ended up buying her the other books in the series and didn't bother reading them. Until this one. Caught on a long commute with nothing to read, I started to read it. When I got home, my daughter looked at the book and said "Why'd you buy this? Except for the first, they're all awful." I finished it, but only because I was indulging that sick fascination with horrible things -- like devastating car accidents or train wrecks.
It seems the series is a financially successful one. Just like Twilight. And, just like Twilight, my daughter is rewriting the book, right on the page. It is an object of ridicule for her. Thank God. The girl has some standards.

I am super girly, and I love impossible romances! I loved this book, but even I thought it should have been a tiny bit more full of action. I gave it five stars, because, like I said, I am super girly, and the absence of the action didn't bother me to much.
Anyway, I think it is a must-read. I cried, and laughed, and got butterflies in my stomach for Max and Fang. Of course, not in that order, but, still...I loved this book and can not wait until the next one, Angel, comes out!!!

I devoured this book over the course of a couple of hours after getting it from the library. It wasn't as action-packed as the other books in the series but it stands out on its own. My only thoughts on this book are that James Patterson has crafted another thrilling addition to the "Maximum Ride" series and I sincerely hope that he will hurry up with the seventh installment.
The characters have developed from the first time we've seen them in "The Angel Experiment". Angel is no longer the sweet little girl she used to be but this hasn't happened out of the blue. There are already hints of this happening in the first book. Max and Fang are tough avian/human human beings but they ARE teenagers. This book proves how even though Max and Fang face life threatening situations on an almost daily basis, they are still teenagers at heart. Dylan is a "perfect" character but he is by no means a perfect being. He is flawed because of his perfection.
The ending of the book was something I really didn't expect. Over all, this is a great book that most teens will like. I just hope that James Patterson churns out book number seven quickly.

I bought this book because I was in a hurry and was among the few I had time to check. I read it because I didn't have any other book. In that case scenario the book was readable but I'm pretty sure this is the last book I'll read about the "Maximum series". All the plots about this series are about the same except the first two "The Lake House" and "When the Wind Blows". So, albeit you don't have anything else to read... skip this one.

I LOVE the maximum ride series. But Fang has some serious issues that make me want to slap him til he gets it. How can he do that to Max over and over again?! Why can't he just be with her and not be so jealous. And Max needs to just accept her love for that jerk and tell him how she really feels. Their love for each other is so obvious to everyone but them. After six books I'm tired of this game they're playing with each other. The book that this (hopefully) happens in I will give 5 stars. Until then I will stay extremely frustrated with their stubbornness.
And yes I know this is fictional so I should be blaming James Patterson. But I want him to finish this series so I don't want to say anything negative about him.

Despite skipping like two books in the story, it was still good. The series has become somewhat of a love story, though that was completely expected, the emotions and reactions from the flock was totally not. The story was great overall. It has the same great features in the other Maximum Ride novels by Patterson, and shouldn't be missed.

i thought this book was the second best better than first four but not as good as Max. I was soooooo sad at first about Fang leaving i mean enough with the notes! Then u think that maybe Fang isnt the right one for Max its probly Dylan and he is way cuter. I love the way max is sooooooo protective of her flock. She is a real Mother teresa. i also love how she never gabe up when Fang was flatlining. Angel is my least favorit charater she is like sugar and spice but for me that dosent make anything nice. I camt wait for Angel to come out! im not sure what will happen but there is two different covers one says (ztrust no one not even an Angel) the other ( Only Angel knows how it all ends) what is that supposed to mean?! I cant wait to find out!

i LOVED fang. the book and character. i still love them both. it only took me a couple of hours to read, though, so that was a bummer, but i read it at school so it was worth it because the teachers didn't get mad at me because i still did the assignments. i started to cry at the end. but as usual, james patterson wrote a funny, heartwarming, but still interesting book with enough romance but not over the top. i loved it!

In "Fang," Max and the flock are in Africa helping suffering children when they meet a new villain, and yes, it's yet another mad scientist (who is Mr.Chen's boss). This one made a syringe which gives you the power to heal yourself instantly if you get hurt. And it turns out that there is another bird kid just like the flock. The evil scientist offers Max to join his experiments but Max rejects him.
If you liked the other books in the Maximum Ride series, then you will love "Fang." It has the same action and comedy that everyone loves.

I hestitated getting "Fang". After reading the reviews for "Max" I got it from the library because I was reluctant to spend so much money on a book that so few people thought was up to the same quality as the first three (which were fantastic). But I felt that "Fang" was more like the original in pace. I enjoyed it very much. Now I'll see the reviews for "Angel"...

Anyone else feel that this series has gone seriously downhill? The original three books were so great, with such a good arc. The next three made no sense, not even as singular episodes.
Character development, plotlines, and overall cohesion have all disappeared. *Sigh* Things are just getting silly now. Maybe whichever ghost writer of Patterson's is writing this series now should quit while they're not too far behind.

AAAHH this series is the best ever written! (over exageration) but seriously, its fantastic.
If Fang were real, all of the fangirls of this series would fight to the death for him, I mean, he's the perfect dark, brooding and handsome type, who wouldn't fall for that???
On the other hand, every guy who likes this series would die of jealousy. Fang is just perfect that way.
If by chance you havn't read this book, I highly suggest you buy it this very moment, there will be no regrets.
James P. you've done it again, thank you so much for giving all of us teenagers and adults alike a great series to devour.

FANG is , no doubt about it, the most exciting, most romantic, most fun maximum ride book yet! James Patterson has done really good with this book. And what really is cool is... he already has a new max ride book! its called ANGEL. it comes out on February 14th, 2011. (Long wait :0) So anyone who is a huge max fan, pick up Fang NOW!

Okay, I literally just finished reading this book, and I can't sleep now. James Patterson has finally put the Maximum Ride book series in overdrive by my books. I wish, WISH I could tell you the story. All I can say was that I screamed, I yelled, I cried, and I felt strangely heavy afterward, got to tell you that much.
So here we go. Max and the Flock are back at it again, but this time in Africa (though *spoiler* they don't stay there long.) and are helping the refuges and hungry there. But big things are happening and the *spoiler* hottie Dylan arrives with the (evil) Dr. Cleaver. You'll understand once you read the book. Max + Fang + Dylan = "WHAT?!" That's all I can say there.
There are things coming out of the wood work. People and things you didn't think would come back. And what's with Angel suddenly. (Psycho Power Hungry Angel anyone?) The story is starting to progress and as the story ends you are left with a lot and I mean a HUMDINGER of a lot of questions unanswered. But that's what makes this so great. Any story that leaves you hanging is worth reading.
Only one question remains... what does 'HE' know...
If you read you will understand. ^_^

I have to admit that this book was really cool. it was funny and sort of depressing but its good to read sad stories sometimes. if i were max and was voted out of the group then i wouldhave seriously kicked butt with Angel. well i wouldnt stick with fang. i would go with dylan... but it was sorta sad when fang dumps her like that. poor max!

Alright. Just finished the book. About 15 minutes ago.
At first I wasn't going to read it, because to tell you the truth, I was kind of upset with Mr. Patterson here. I felt like after the third (or second?) book, he kind of just gave up on the series. Got lazy. Became all about the money, less about the plot. This angered me. So, I had a Maximum Ride fast for about a year. And on March 15, this book came out.
And unlike all the other books, I DIDN'T GO OUT AND BUY IT. In fact, I really didn't even think about it for a while.
...Until this morning. At FOUR IN THE FREAKING MORNING. When I very randomly woke up, wide awake, with the intense craving to read Maximum Ride. I tried not to, I really did. But I guess my will-power just couldn't keep up. I guess long-term grudges just aren't really my thing.
And so I read. And read...
And then, I caved and bought FANG today. I'm not proud of myself, but I just couldn't resist.
So I gotta say, I'm a pretty big fax fan. Or more like just a Fang fan. So this book was just perfect for me.
(Now I'm kind of confused about whether I liked the book for the book, or just because Fang was in it a lot. To be determined later.
So now for my review:
For starters, one of the main reason I started my so-called "fast" was because I felt like James would start theories about 'the big picture' and just leave them hanging and never develop them. I liked how he actually brought them up in this book! Like the whole 'Max-looking-in-the-mirror-and-seeing-an-eraser' thing. Okay, so he didn't REALLY develop them. But at least it was mentioned. I felt like he had completely forgotten about them, so it was comforting that he hasn't...yet.
Dylan. I don't know about him. He seemed pretty okay to me, but just kind of..boring. And dependent on the scientists. Like the whole 'I'm programmed to love Max thing'? What was up with that? I don't know. But I didn't completely hate him, he was just a little boring. Never met Max in my life but I already love her? She's my SOULMATE? Please. Give it a rest, James. Oh, and I have this theory that he's Max's voice! I'm kind of proud of myself for coming up with this one: Think about it. He was created 8 months ago. If you remember, Max and the Flock left their home about a year ago. Max really didn't start to hear the voice until a while later...say, maybe FOUR months later? (Dylan's creation...hmmm...)
Hey, uhm, Fang? Yeah, WAY TO GIVE ME A FREAKING HEART ATTACK. Seriously. I never cry during books. Ever. It really hasn't ever happened. Did I cry during this book? Yeah. TWICE. Don't know what is wrong with me. So Fang died, and I just burst into tears for a good 20 minutes. It was a sad sight. And then, wooh, he's back! Okay, I said to myself, calm down. Everything's okay. Fang's alright. Everyone's alright. (Oh, by the way, Dylan's suicide attempt? WTH?) And then Akila and Total got married? Uhm, okay, whatever floats your boat... but I was good. Satisfied. Fang was safe.
So then Patterson decides he couldn't POSSIBLY have everything be fine and dandy. He had to make Fang write the saddest. letter. ever. I cried even harder that time. If that's possible. And I just kind of sat there in shock for a while. (Why was I in shock? Still don't know. This is totally a thing Mr. Patterson would do, since he likes to play with our emotions...)
Liked the Fang blog. Added some mmph into it. Wish I would've saved it for later after I experienced all the emotions of the book to their full potential. I'm such a sap.
LOVED VEGAS. Love, love, loved it. Especially the jackpot scene. Made me laugh.
Dr. G-H was interesting. I guess.
Mr. Chu...huh? green kid? Do I want to know?
Still hating Angel. Why can't she just be HAPPY?! or at least content??
So, I'm thinking a four outta five. What say you?

i got this book a few days right after it cam eout because i am a big fan of the Maximum Ride series. since i am more of an action/adventure type of person i was alittle disappointed in all the drama that took place in the story. the first 5 books didnt have much drama in it and i was suprised it appeared in this one, the most recent. maybe more girls that enjoy more dramatic stories might like this book out of all the books in the series. also girls that are crazy for Fang haha. the ending was a little depressingthough but im not going to spoil it for people that havnt read the story yet.

Also whats with Dylan! Max and Fang=<3 NOT Dylan and Max=<3 they sould=NEVER end of spoiler time but not for long maybe i saw wrong but i heard Maximum Rides is going to be a MOVIE IN 2013(ya no if the earth dosent explode in 2012. OK,I have to tell y'all that I really enjoyed this book. **SPOILER** I thought that the Erasers were"retired" bringin' 'em back was a really cool addition so we know that there will be more Eraser combat. I wasn't happy with the ending in the book about how JP wanted to end the book with Fang leaving the flock. And Max is pissed about that and sad. So is that what Dylan is there for? Will there be another book?

I am not much of a writer myself, but I am a bookworm. However, I disliked this book. This book is mostly about how Max loves Fang so much and it honestly gets pretty annoying. The first book in this series was pretty good, but as the books kept going, they got more and more disappointing. If you are like me and love to read good books, don't read this one. Go read The Hunger Games instead!

i got the preveiw in the book form and i was so mad when i read that it said angel said fang was going to die and someone else was going to be maxs soulmate fang is already her soul mate! fang and maxs relationship is the most interesting part of the book for me and fang is my favorite character! and if fang dies itll probally ruin the rest of the series for me. so i cant wait to read the whole thing im hoping that angel is wrong and fang lives!

Maximum Ride is one of my favorite book series. However, Fang was a letdown. I hated the cover and the book seemed too... unlike the other Ride novels. The relation between Fang and Max is overdone, the flock is torn apart, and everyone hates Max. SPOILER People keep dying and coming back, and they even try to add to the flock. ENDSPOILER I will never again read Fang, but Patterson might yet redeem himself in book seven: Angel.

I think MAX is the best book in the series because it has more action but this is a very close second. I loved it! Max Ride is the best series I've ever read! I'ts full of action, romance, suspence; rivalries, friendships; evil scientists and mutations. What more could you want in a book? If you like science fiction, adventure, and romance all rolled into one book, then this series is for you. You won't be able to put it down.

i love a good romance as much as the next girl but i got into this series for the action. i loved max in the first three books because of her, and who she was, and the spirit she had. now she is losing herself over a guy, and that drives me crazy. if i wanted to read a love story i could read a nicholas sparks book. i want the action back, and i think that dylan is just going to bring in a whole new wave of drama.
and really patterson? a dog wedding? youre kidding me. chee-zy.

I have to say this book wasn't as good as the first three or MAX but the plot did't run off. The issue with angel was really interesting but the ending was kind of depressing! I also think Max and Fang make a cute couple in my head! Fangs document at the end was really funny. James Patterson always keeps the endigs of the stories happy but this one wasn't the happiest.

When I first read Maximum Ride, I thought 'Finally! A book without romance!' Even in Max where they have budding relationship, it doesn't become the plot. But with the addition of Dylan, romance is the plot. It's not about the flock or saving the world. It is about Max and her issues with romance. The overall content was good though.

i preordered ANGEL on my kindle, and i seriously hope its beter that FANG. it was seriously ridiculously stupid, totally predictable, ad more like a love story than the maximum ride we know and love. there was like a fight every two frickin seconds and they all started too seem tthe same to me.

I have not read it yet but, seriously? I think that the person should continue on the manga and less on the stupid books....not that I don't love reading but....Aries had to die?I hope they make the seventh book soon or I'll have a heart attack! I love the manga but, they need to make it continue.

Well, James Patterson has done it again. He has stolen my heart with a book. this book was excellent, and I can't help but wonder, What is up with the new bird guy on the block??? I mean, the guy is a new feather of annoyance on Max's wings and its a new thought of madness to me! Now because of Dylan, Fang is gone, and Max is going nuts. Can't help but think of new possibilities in the next book!

i likd this 1. it wasnt as good as the 1st 1 but i found myself on the edge of my seat, sweating nd crying @ the end. it pissd me off that angel got so weird nd became so bossy nd that every1 wantd max out...i thnk a lot of ppl didnt like this bk cuz of all the change..going back 2 colorado..a new flock member..max all cozy w/ fang...
btw the "make out" scenes rnt the highlight of the novel so theyre not grossly detaild! a lot of emotions were bein depictd in this bk..i thot it was well written. i especially likd how it ended. if i had waitd till the nxt bk came out i wudnt hv been so angry about abrupt way it ended.

This book made me angry like when Angel kicked Max out. That butthead seriously needs a spanken. Then it made me cry like when fang wrote his very last letter. Please. of course it made me laugh. to many times perhaps. but really peoples. get this book. or else youll regret it

This book brings the focus back to the flock and how cool they are. No big waste of time with side agenda's like that last several books. This book brings you back to the coolest part about the series...Max and the flock. If you were disappointed with the propaganda about worldly issues in the last couple books, this one will bring you back.

Very easy reading and I enjoy all of these books by James Patterson. I believe these were written for a lot younger group, 13 and over. I enjoy fantasy no matter the age group. They take you away from the harsh every day grind.

I am so happy that Fang came back to life but I think I may kill him for just up and leaving. I get why he did it but I wish he didn't. He should see that this is going to hurt the flock even more because now Max is heartbroken.

The reason that this has been placed on here for free for all of you to read is because the current copy of the book does not have a sample available being as it is a PREORDER! Try and find a sample on the preorder, there isn't one! So stop complaining and being ungrateful and just read the sample if you'd like (because its actually good) if not, just dont pay attention to it for Christ's sake!
Sincerely,

What a good book! I love almost everything James writes, with the exception of the Final Warning and Witch and Wizard. It was not as good as the first three, but it still deserves a 5 out of 5. Not everyone I know likes this series, but that is their loss.

I started reading the series right when my local library got saving the world and other extreme sports, and started loving the books by page 2 of the angel experiment. I belive Fang has surpassed all the books besides saving the world...sports.
The edge of your sea excitment i experianced while reading Fang is the reason i read books in the age of technology. I say fly on, and to a grater height than before.

This book is Awesome!!!!!! It has everything! Romance, violence, power-hungary-mind-controlling- 6-year-olds, and flying bird kids. What more could you want? I didn't think there would be in another book after Max, but it appears that the series will continue, with Angel (Coming out February 2011). This is a very good continuation of the series. I can't wait for more.

This series is my favorite series and I can not wait for the next book, "Angel!!" Some people were saying that this wasn't the best book of the series but I dissagree. Very strongly. This was the best book of the series and best book I'v ever read. It was full of emotion. It had sad, happy, and actiony parts. Fange really came out of his shell and made me fall even more inlove with him. Can't wait for the next book! James Patterson ROCKS!!!!!

I thought that over all the Maximum series are a bit overboard with the power things. I think it is good exept that it is pretty expensive. I sugest to wait for the price to go down or borrow from a friend. Read it if you have some free timebut try reading something more useful like a classic novel. I finished it in about a hour so it doesnt last very long.

I ordered this book as soon as it came out, and to tell you the truth I was disappointed. James Patterson has done so, so much better with his past Maximum Ride books. The plot of this book goes all over the place and the characters were way out of character. All we can do is hope that Patterson has big plans for the next book.

I'm really angry with James Patterson. I loved the first three books but this one is just, no, just no. I don't like Angel now at all.
Seriously the ending wanted to make me get a pitchfork, go over to his house and make him rewrite it. SERIOUSLY? (Spoiler alert) Making FANG LEAVE THE GROUP?! What's up with that?? ARGH he better write another book and bring Fang back and Max and Fang will live happily ever after. I hate this book, such a complete waste of money.

what on earth?! I love the Maximum Ride series but fang is just a let down. It took too many weird turns and I couldn't follow it. What is with fang and I hate dylan. I bought this book yesterday on my Kindle and finished reading it in like three hours. I am not amazed. It wasn`t as good as say the first three books but definately not as ridiculous as The Final Warning (thank God). It was sort of just one random event after another, but I`d say you should read it anyway if you are a big fan of the series because what happens is going to affect the next book(s) in a big way.

Well, my bro bought this book today and I read it before him, as usual. I enjoyed the book less than the first three, but more than Final Warning, so it's about as good as Max. I thought it could have been summed up in a few dozen pages, and the whole Max/Fang thing went a little overboard. I mean, they're in survival situations constantly- so they don't exactly have time to be all mushy-mushy like they are. I guess that's love? More like obsession. Love is more than a feeling- it's an action, and Patterson doesn't capture that. Whatever. In any case, not as good as we were all hoping, but not as ridiculous as Final Warning.

My name is Brooklyn, the name of my book is Fang. The author's name is James Patterson. The book is about a girl who is trying to save the world, but every time she tries she gets stopped by a new enemy or an old enemy. During her save the world scene Max and Fang were and still are romantically involved.
The reason I love this book is because it has a lot of action/ romance in it, and lost and found scenes. You know it's like you can relate to the book in your own way. I love this book; it's kind of like a taste of life but in a book.
That is why reading books is good so you can meet books like mine!

This is a balancing review against the people complaining about the fact this is a sample and not a book. This is very clear from the title and I wonder how well people can read a book if they cannot accurately read ten words that include SAMPLE or PREVIEW. I like the idea of authors giving us samples to see if we want to buy a book and I completely understand that this is available as standard on my Kindle. Perhaps the store should consider differentiating between full book best sellers and most popular sample downloads. This may help silence the attention deficit plagued complainers.

Stop complaining that it isn't the full book. He is doing this beacause it isn't out yet and he wants to show it to people so they will be interested.
And, by the way, he already had one of the books for free about a month ago. That is also why I read the series now.

While it may say "preview" in the title, I don't like the direction authors or publishers are going by cluttering up the "bestseller" list with previews when the store/Kindle already offers the ability to see/read samples of books. Bestseller lists should ONLY contain actual books.
I gave this a single star as a statement against publishers/authors who use this option of cluttering up the bestseller list with pointless downloads. Work within the system (allow the store/kindle to handle the samples), don't screw up the system (clutter up the bestseller list).

if you cant figure out that this book is a free preview, maybe you shouldnt be using a kindle. there is a possibility that you are hungover and cant read that:
a) it is a preview, and
b)it is free, so it doesnt matter.

You definitely have to read the book to see for yourself the fate of Fang. I thought the book was a nice, quick read. Definitely worth checking out, but don't bend over backwards to get it.
There was nothing that really stood out to me in this book as really impressive or really annoying, but the one thing I didn't like was how Angel was portrayed in this book. I don't want to say I dislike her, but, well...There's nothing else to describe it.
"Fang" gets 3/5 stars. It was pretty good, but nothing special.
