I bought a copy of this book on a friends recommendation. I don't have alot of time to read but vacation was approaching so I thought this would be a good thing to have. I picked it up when it arrived a week prior to vacation to "just get a little bit started". I read it in 2 days!!! Couldn't put it down. I have since bought several copies and given them out. Great book!!! Great guy!!!!

What an awesome, true and inspirational read! To me it says "don't feel sorry for yourself, wake up, live life, love yourself, your life, others, and see the gift and special moments of every day. After a terrible gasoline fire at the age of 9, John was not expected to live. But he chose to live, and went on to inspire thousands of others with his inspiration message. VERY highly recommended.

WOW!!! THIS book!!! I have read A LOT of books...but NONE compare to ON FIRE!!! I tell everyone that this is the BEST. BOOK. EVER. I don't care what your business or background is...you will be blessed by this book. I have given this book to so many and recommended it to many others. I have bought my children all their own copy of ON FIRE. This book is one that you will not be able to put down...then you will finish it and go back to re-read and highlight. There is so much meat in this book. John O'Leary hit it OUT OF THE PARK!!! He is vulnerable as he shares his story. His story is the most inspirational story. The lessons that John shares as he tells his story are life-changing. Again, I do not know one person who would not benefit from reading this book. Absolutely loved this book! Incredible story...fantastic family...amazing man! Faith, Love and Courage displayed by so many throughout. A must read for people of all ages. After finishing it on my Kindle I went out and book a copy for my library and my husband. I no doubt will read many passages again and will refer to many of the books inspirational lessons time and again!

I LOVED THIS BOOK! I can count on one hand how many books I have actually finished in my lifetime. I tend to get bored very easily when I get halfway to 3/4 of the way through a book but this book I could not put down loved every page amazing amazing read!! John did a remarkable job!!

One of the most amazing inspirational books I have ever read and there have been many. As with John's live presentations, which I have been blessed to have experienced twice over the last 3 years, John takes you on a heart wrenching, life altering journey through the trauma of acquiring 3rd degree burns over 99% of his body in a childhood accident. This experience sets him down a path of life lessons that makes him thrive and become "ignited" with insights, surprising humor and sheer passion for sharing and caring for others. I would recommend this book to anyone that thinks they may have experienced a hard day! Such a joy to have encountered a truly awesome spirit willing to dedicate his life to assisting others in their search for meaning and value.

I hardly ever feel the urge to write a review, but I got this book on audible and WOW!!! It is POWERFUL! Makes sitting in traffic so worth it, John is engaging, inspiring, and tells his own story like no one else can. I'm even thinking of buying it on hardcopy just so I can flip through it whenever I need encouragement. YOU WILL NOT REGRET THIS PURCHASE!! On Fire is without a doubt one of the best books I've read. It is moving, inspiring and at times funny. It grabs you by the heart and challenges you to be a better you. O'Leary is great at telling his story and putting you right there in the mind of a 9yr old as he goes back and forth from his thoughts at the time to how it has impacted who he is today as an adult and although I've never been through such a thing he brilliantly applies it to the life of the reader. I felt like he was speaking to me directly throughout the book. Truly a must read.

John's book is a journey into the uniqueness of great relationships and a reflection into what matters most. He has a gift in connecting the unimaginable to our own life experiences in a story that is compelling, courageous and inspiring. I loved this book! I won't read self help books and I rarely write reviews. My daughter heard John speak at a company event and shared the book with me. I couldn't put it down. It is entertaining, inspirational & faith filled without being religious. I am buying copies for my children.

Different than other Christian books who harp on relying on God. One of my favorite take-aways was that God gives us people to share our daily struggles with. He also points out that not all talking amongst friends is negative gossip like so many people accuse us of.
I've heard him tell his story and find it absolutely amazing. I like how in the book he tells his story at the same time as pointing out inspirational guidance.

I was lucky to hear John speak at a corporate event for my company and receive a copy of the book. It is full of simple decisions we face in our everyday life and how we make the most of those decisions. As a father, there are some tough parts to get through bit it is all worth it in the end. It was so good I bread it in one sitting. All-in-all a great read and would recommend to anyone.

Can you say a book is "life-changing"? Rarely...but this one I can honestly say is life-changing for me. I have not said that about a book since I read "The Power of Now" by Eckhart Tolle 10 years ago. I actually never believed or understood when people said a book was "life-changing". My mom recently attended one the seminars at BJC and she bought this book for me. I am not much of reader, and yet I felt moved to read through its pages. It was absolutely amazing! I am currently going through an adjustment in life from being a college kid a year ago, to now having a full time job and the responsibilities to go with it. Hands down the best book I have read all year! It was hard to put this down. The strength that such a young boy and family showed through this journey can only come from above and it showed! I sent this book to my son in prison. A young man who knows he is rich in the Lord. Also growing up feeling entitled, not taking responsibility. But through his own foolishness is facing the biggest challenge of his life. I too like John's mother have had to ask, Do you want to die?. My son loved this book, saying it is a LIFE CHANGER.

My brother went to college with John and I knew a minimal amount about his story - then I taught wth a woman who mentioned she tutored a young boy in St. Louis who had been severely burned. I listened to the Audible audio book, and was blown away! I will now be buying the physical copy of the book, and reading it again! This is an inspirational work of art. I got sucked in to this book, and cried 3 times in the first 2 chapters. I really didn't have time to start a book but it was so simple, so honest and really made sense. I can't wait for my children to read it. Even if you didn't go through what John has been through, you can relate, you feel true empathy and we've all had feelings like he describes. You won't be sorry you chose this book.

John takes us from what was a horrible tragedy, to a turning point, or inflection point, in his life. What once gave him no chance of survival has changed his life and many others simply by being the great person that he is. This is exactly the question that inspires me every time I have read this book. John's words and message is more than about his own unbelievable life it is a call to each of us to write our own story to say yes and choose to be the victor not a victim. On Fire continues to inspire me to become a better version of myself. My dad would always use the expression you don’t put a light under a bushel basket but you place it up high for everyone to see. This book “On Fire” is just like that light my dad spoke of that needs to be held up high and shared.
