I wasn't exactly impressed with book one, so I was even more skeptical of book 2. This book is actually better than the second one. More characters, more twists and more indepth descriptions made it a great read.

My kids loved I Am Number Four and anxiously awaited The Power of Six. They weren't disappointed. My oldest felt it was a transitional book, setting up the story for future books. But he still thought it was a great read. Enjoy.

Unexpectedly brilliant, fantastic: this book is even better than the first. There are a lot of twists that you will not see coming. Also, the plot thickens; «The Power of Six» is on a much grander scale than «I Am Number 4» was. The only problem I had with this book is that the end comes far too soon, and, while it's a good ending, not in the least dissapointing, it leaves you desperately wanting more. Unfortunely, the next book is quite a bit off. Also, there were a few grammatic weak points, and times when the pace was a little off, too slow or too fast, but the story was never dull, it was captivating right up to the very last word.
Absolutely worth reading. I definetly recommend it.

If you liked I am number 4 you will LOVE this! Six is a great character and you get to meet a lot more people while the book answers a lot of questions from I am number 4. I can't wait to read the Rise of Nine.

If you liked I Am Number Four, then you will like The Power of Six. We get to continue Number 4's story, and new characters get introduced. The author keeps you hanging on the edge of your seat, even in the end. I can't wait for the next book in this series!

This had a lot of action and is more age appropriate for my 13 year old son. He preferred the first book though, so my opinion isn't always the best. I thought the new characters were developed well and not over done. Easy and quick read.

The first book was great because you get to learn about the new characters. I also enjoyed The Power of Six (without giving anything away) because of the change of scenery and the knowledge of two more characters' lives.

This book was amazing.
This is a book that when you start reading it
you don't want to put it down and you do not want it to end.
It's exciting from the first page to the last and I cannot
wait until Pittacus Lore's next book comes out. I'll be first in line
to buy it.

Just finished The Power of Six and have to say it is better than I am Number Four. Lots of action. Lots of surprises. I can't wait for the third book, which I hear will be out sometime late summer 2012.The Power of Six (Lorien Legacies)I Am Number Four Movie Tie-in Edition (Lorien Legacies)

Follow John, Sam and Six as they try to find the rest of the Garde. This a fast paced book that will keep you turning page's until the end arrives unexpectedly. The book rates four stars but is to short.

I think I liked this book better than the first. I loved the almost non-stop action throughout the story. I thought the split narration between John and Marina added so much more to the story. The introduction and involvement of the other Garde members was great. I really love that the bad ass of the story is a female. It's nice to see a strong female lead instead of one that seems to always depends on a guy. I found some things a little predictable, like the relationship developing between John and Six, but I figured that one out in the first book.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book and can't wait for the next one to come out to see what happens.

The first book was great, but this one is even better than the first. The two go together like bread and butter. If you have I Am Number Four, you must get this one.
The book arrived just as stated and in a very timely manner. Thank you and keep up the great work.

A good title in the series but the male narrator is AWFUL - makes all the characters sound like whining little brats. The female narrator is great. The male turned me off enough to go back to the written book rather than continue listening to him!

This book was a great read! Very well written and full of action. This book also felt like the middle of a series. It had enough resolution of the storyline I wasn't left feeling like I was hanging from a cliff. It did, however, leave me very much wanting more of the story!!!

I was very excited to read this book! It was well written, the characters had developed amazingly. My only problems was the narration with Seven and Four. It was confusing to know who was speaking. The plot was fresh. All in all the book well past my expectations.

The sequel to I Am Number Four starts off right where it left off with its fast and adventurous plot. This book was action packed and had many plot twists that kept myself entertained. Although I did enjoy this book, I felt like the end of the book was a little rushed and not as well written as the previous sections. One thing I really enjoyed was the switching between two simultaneous stories between John and Marina. This gave the book a new element that made it different from the previous book. Overall, this book was very interesting and kept me reading it every day. I would recommend this book to young adults and teenagers. I would definitely purchase this book again!

The first book was good and I was anxious to read the sequel. I just finished it and it was the kind of book you just can't put down. It was full of constant action and excitement, yet, easy to follow.. Not too over descriptive, like so many other books I have read.. There was a good story and it was not predictable.. It took you out of the box and into an incredibly imaginative world.. It was clean reading, good for most anyone... I only wish it did not end yet!!! I can't wait for the next book!!!!!!
I highly recommend it.. Very entertaining !!!!

I just finished this book after obtaining the Kindle edition. Wow I'm amazed at how great these stories roll right along and I'm actually sad I'm already done with it. I could write spoilers alert here but you know everyone just reads past that anyway. Can't wait until the next book!!! Hopefully we won't have to wait to long until we get it! Now that 4 is with 9, 6 with 7 and 10 it's going to be great to learn about 5 and 8 and to see how it all ends. And Sarah how could you do that John???? This one was so much better than the first, and I'm eternally grateful they released the movie which turned me on to the first book! Now that I wasted a total day at work reading this, I have to say if you liked the first one, you'll love this one even more.

I was really looking forward to reading this book, because I have read the first one. I am absolutely in love with this series and I think adding Seven's point of view into the story was brilliant. You get introduced to more of John's people and there is a huge shocker at the end of it. I don't think I can wait much longer for the next one to come out. I recommend this book to anyone with common sense because there is almost no way you can love this book.

Ok, I am number four was great, and I was all excited about the second book........until I started reading it. It bored me to death within the first couple chapters and went downhill from there. All John did was worry or be stupid and don't even get me started on Sam and Six, the whole love triangle thing was not good. The action sences were pitful and they barely fought... And John has no cool power he can just glow (wow)..........the only part I sorta liked was Maria, but even that was dragged on and on and on................the action at the end was goodish, but honestly John is my favorite character and he was really bad in it. I hope the third one is better..............that's my opinion!

Personally, I am a big fan of I Am Number Four. So, of course when the second one came out I HAD to buy it on my kindle. When I finished the book, I was pleased with how the book played out but I did not like the ending. Overall, if you liked I Am Number Four then you should definitely read this book.

First of all, I would like to say that I'm a huge fan of I Am Number Four. When I read I Am Number Four, I got to know who John Smith was and felt his emotions throughout the book. I also like on how each character had their own personality such as Sam, Henry, Bernie, and Sarah. The book had a focus on John's personal life and his adventure of survial. Each chapter made you want to read the next chapter. It was very addicting because each chapter had a half finished dramtic scene, making you damn curious whats going to happen. Also in the end, I was so mad on how they just cut out Henry from the story by making him die. This was really a sad ending but the scene made me feel as though I was in John's position of losing a father. "sorry for the spoiler but I think Henry should have at less survive the2nd book". Compared to the recent back called The Power of Six, it was poorly written. It first starts out with a girl named Maria, talking about her past and recent activites on the search of John Smith. I have to admit that the first chapter was good but as you read head on, the story switches between two different character's conflict and story. This method of switching around to show on who is doing what is intresting, but i think the author is over doing it by extending the information. Like for an example, the author writes a few chapters of Maria searching for her box. That is just a waste of time, yes i understand that she has to find her box filled with her inhertance but is it really necessary to make her search for her box that long? I would rather like to hear more about John Smith. If I were to ask did you do anything specal today? I wouldn't want to hear every single thing you did but I rather hear the most intresting thing you did. I would also like to say on why did the author give Maria's guardian so little personality? I was expecting her to teach Maria like Henry. I felt as though she was just a background that did not play a significant role in this book. After reading the book all I knew is that she wanted to be a priest and treated Maria poorly. Also the way she died, had nothing to it. I did not feel any emotion like the way Henry died. I think the author could have done better by making Maria's story more of an adventure rather then a story filled with her daily task or choirs. I mean most of the characters that Maria met did not have emotionsfrom start. The author was procrastinating on what Maria's story that could have been amazing. As you read the book its a very slow process of anything significant that is happening. John's Smith story had a little more excitment to it because he had to run from the human society and fight aliens. After reading throughout the chapters of a boring slow story, the action finally takes place near the final chapters. The climax of each character is very intresting because it leads the book into a new book that might come out later throughout the year. As you read near the final chapters, you can tell that the author is rushing the book by adding the discovery of the new numbers. I mean wow really adding 3 new members to a book without even a short reference of their history or who they are is kind of a bad ending. I waited a year to read this book and was very dissapointed on the author's method of rushing things at the end and slowing down a story with a endless search of a box and character text that had nothing significant related to Maria.

I loved the first book of the Pittacus Lore "I am number four." I found the "Power of six" to be equally as enjoyable. As with the first book, the sequel is an easy read. Short and digestable chapters.

It had been 2 years since I had read and finished the first book in this series, "I Am Number Four" and I absolutely loved it. I finally got around to the second novel in this series and it seems that I should have not waited that long. Why? Because this book continues from the first book and I have forgotten a lot. I highly recommend you read this book shortly after you finish reading the first in the series. Otherwise, you'll forget the characters and where they left off, leaving you completely perplexed and trying to figure out who is who and what is going on. Or, like me, you simply give up. Most books in a series draw very little from the first book and the author is able to rebuild and create a whole new storyline without having read the first book. Not true with this author.

This books continues the story from I am number 4 with the same gusto and intrigue.
A fast moving book and a joy to read.
I just could not put this book down.
I don't want to give to much away for those who are yet to read this book but you can't help being drawn into the characters of this well written series.

OK, I saw the movie of the first book and really liked it. So I then started reading the series. I didn't write a review on the first book (I Am Number Four) but would give it 4 stars. Definitely good enough to keep on going though, unlike the movie, there's a lot more of the mopey love stuff going on. But the second book has been a complete disappointment. I realize that I seem to be in the minority but I just don't understand how this book has so many 5 star reviews.

This book has alternating viewpoints between John (Four) and Marina (Seven). Marina is at an orphanage in Spain. Her story is interesting and quite good. I enjoyed her parts quite a bit.

However, John has to be the most unrelatable frustrating protagonist I've ever had the misfortune to read. In the first book, he falls head-over-heels in love with Sarah. Can't live without her. Now, he's been gone from Sarah for a few days and he's falling for Six. OK, well, fickle guy is fickle. I can accept that I guess. But he also knows that his best, and only, friend Sam likes Six as well. So does he hide his feelings for Six, at least while Sam is around? Nope. At one point (near the end) he has to say goodbye to Six and, while Sam is watching, starts Frenching her. Nice.

OK, now I'm gritting my teeth, but fine, I'll accept that he really is falling for Six and can't help himself. He really likes her so, being the protagonist, I'm sure he'll be by her side instantly if she's in trouble? Nope. The second he realizes he's anywhere near Sarah's house he runs off, leaving Six by herself, surrounded by Mogs, fighting to get HIS Chest back. Yes, you read that correctly. She has put her life on the line to get John's Chest back from the Mogs and is fighting them when John decides it's time to run off and hook up with his other girlfriend. Mind you, Sarah is sound asleep at home and doesn't even know John is back in town, John is the #1 Most Wanted Man in the country, Mogs are beating up Six, the FBI and CIA have been pulling out all the stops to get John, but at this exact time he decides to pay a social call on Sarah. What. The. Fudge.

Naturally, really bad things happen because of John's stupid decision. He and Sam (you know, his best friend that he has no respect for but keeps dragging along to get in trouble with him) are captured by the government. Six rescues John (again, as she did in book one) just as the Mogs attack the jail that he and Sam are being held in (I'll come back to the Mogs in a minute).

The trio escape from the jail. Six informs them that they need to get to Spain to help Seven, who is in some deep doodoo. John, who is deeply remorseful for putting Six and Sam in jeopardy and really wants to find and help his fellow Lorians, of course agrees to help. No wait. Sorry, that was some other book that makes sense. In this particular book, John decides he HAS to get his Chest back. You know, the one he forgot all about so he could text with Sarah while Six was fighting to get it back for him. That Chest. It's being held in a huge Mog lair so naturally he drags Sam along with him, why not, and abandons Six to whatever fate awaits her in Spain. I stopped reading at this point. I really just couldn't continue.

After many hours of debate I did decide to finally finish reading solely to see what happens to Marina and Six. Again, that part of the story is pretty good.

You won't be surprised to learn that John does not pay a price for his stupid decision. Sam does. Sam is captured and tortured by the Mogs. Good one John.

Finally, three other minor points, none of which on their own are deal breakers for me.

One, the Mogs seem to be the Lorien Legacies' equivalent of the Imperial Troopers in Star Wars. No matter how many of them there are, you can be sure they won't be able to stop our fearless heroes. John, Six, Sam and Marina and her friends mow down literally hundreds, if not thousands, of them. This is only a minor quibble on my part. They are the good guys after all and I'm used to reading and watching stuff like that. Also, there are hints that they are in collusion with the US government. If that is the case, why did they need to attack the jail? Just get the feds to hand John and Sam over to them.

Two, when John tries to go back into the Mog lair to rescue Sam (at least he tries, I guess) there is a blue force field that he can't get past. Where was that force field when he and Sam first snuck in? It seems a bit too convenient that it wasn't there when they needed to get in and then shows up when the plot needs it to keep Sam in Mog hands.

Three, recycling of powers. I haven't mentioned it, but while in the Mog base, John and Sam rescue Number Nine. He has all kinds of cool powers. Once John and he escape the cave, and after John knocks himself out by running into the blue force field (typical), Nine all of a sudden develops the ability to talk to animals. What?! I thought this was one of John's signature abilities. This seemed completely unnecessary.

OK, so that's that. I can't read the third book right now. I'm interested in Six and Marina but I just can't read anymore about John. I'll wait and see what others say about the fourth book when it comes out. If John gets better in that, then I'll continue but for now I'm holding off.
