I really liked this story a lot. It's not another Wildcard which is what I think all of LL's fans keep hoping for (myself included). Maybe I wasn't paying careful enough attention, but I read the dates in this book to be as follows: They met 8 years before when she was 22, she started working with the Ops 2 years later at 24 and is now 30. I do wish Jordan had been in his early 40s. This would have been more consistent with his character in most of the rest of the series (his 1st appearance he WAS much older than Nathan, he called him "son" in Kell's book). Even this didn't bother me much. What did bother me was the ridiculous number of typos throughout the story. There really is no excuse for it. I'm on the fence about whether I'll continue with LL as an autobuy, between the bad proofreading and I really do feel like she needs a break from the type of storylines she has been writing. Having said that, I did still enjoy this book, just not as much as here past ones.

If you like reading about former Hot, Sexy Navy Seal men, now known as the Elite Ops team, assembled secretly to rid the world of the worse elements the world has ever known, and if you like reading pages upon pages of hot, steamy sexually intense relationships between the gorgeous men of the Elite Ops team and the women that eventually come to terms with loving them, then you’re going to love reading Live Wire.

Elite Ops Commander Captain Jordan "Live Wire Malone knew adding Tehya "Enigma" Talamosi to the unit six years ago was a mistake, but even he failed to predict why. Over the years, he came close to breaking his only rule about watching his squad's back a zillion times for her, but he never did. Now the contract is over and his team returns to normal lives raising families. For him, no way as he will hide behind the legend of Live Wire.
Nine months ago Tehya left the team to open a business. However, someone is leaking top secret information about her, which makes her and any one close to her in peril. Jordan still protects his team even if they disbanded and some already have kids. He arrives to warn Tehya and have her back. However, this time he no longer can resist her lure.
Although there are suspense elements, the last Elite Ops tale is more a pure romance than an action thriller. The story line is fast-paced yet filled with sex scenes and a chance to see how the team members have done since they went civilian. Tehya is a fascinating protagonist, but Live Wire feels different than in previous novels though one can rationalize he is being domesticated on the home front. Although tough love dominates the plot too much and his motive for being relationship phobic extremely weak, fans of the series will appreciate the climax of the leader and the female Elite Ops teammate trying to make it as a civilian couple even if the unit like the Hollow Men of T.S. Eliot go out in a "whimper not a bang."

I have enjoyed the Elite Ops books and had been looking forward to Jordan's story for a while, and in many ways, this was a let-down. It read exactly like a rehash of earlier stories for the most part. But the biggest reason for the 2 star review was the fact that it looked like the book hadn't been edited. There is inconsistency on date ranges (sometimes he'd been lusting after for 6 years, sometimes 8, once or twice 10) and the grammar was terrible. This is a romance novel, I'm not expecting Shakespeare or Jane Austin, but maybe a period at the end of a sentence? Better sentence structure? This reads like Ms. Leigh just hammered out a draft and it was published as such without any revisions.
One of the things Lora Leigh is known for is steamy sex scenes and there were several here, to the point of being too many. It almost felt like there was no way to move the story forward, so let's have the characters jump each other. Maybe the rationale for lack of character development was the fact that we'd seen these two in earlier novels, but I was under the impression these books should be able to stand alone to some minor degree. But then again, maybe it is necessary for someone to read the earlier novels because if I had picked up "Live Wire" first, I wouldn't bother to read the others or anything else by here, if for no other reason than the sheer laziness with lack of editing and using sex for filler. If this trend continues, then consider this the last book from Ms. Leigh I will read.

I've only read three Lora Leigh novels but the repetition is mind numbing. Her characters start out interesting but fall into lazy romance novel character constructs quickly. Plus they never seem to like each other. I keep wondering, "Doesn't her editor have a red pen?" or "Does she even have an editor?"
Her protagonists are more fun in the books that aren't about them. Her sex scenes go from kind of hot to boring to annoying. And the dialogue is cheesy and predictable at best. So I will no longer talk myself into getting one of her novels because it's about a character I liked in another novel.

Disappointed that this book seemed to have no editing or proofing before printing ... words were left out of sentences which ruined the meaning of the complete sentence & some words were incorrect, etc. etc. After finding at least five errors I gave up keeping track of them. Jordan's commitment issues really dragged on during the book ... he had no trouble having sex with Tehya every five minutes but kept making excuses for a commitment... This was not one of my favorite books in the Elite Ops series.

I am a huge fan of Lora Leigh and was counting the day until this book came out. It was a good read but not my favorite one. I liked how all the past characters came together with their wives and you got a glimpse of their current life. That was probably the best thing about reading the book. The action is the book was very good and i enjoyed the sex scenes but something about it was missing.

First off, no one and I mean NO ONE does erotica + action better than Lora Lee. This book was so freaking hot I needed ice water and then my husband! LOL! Jordan Malone has been the strong figure head in numerous Elite Ops stories and now he finally gets his turn. This sexy story revolves around Jordan finally understanding that Tehya is his weakness. The passion explodes and never lets up until the last page. The descriptions of every move, every touch is so real you can feel it, add that to the smoking hot erotic dialogue and you've got a DAMN GOOD READ!!!!!!

I have read the entire Elite Ops series; loved them all! This last one was exciting, had HOT sex and tied everything up in a nice neat bow! Loved the series very much, I will no doubt re-read it again!

A strong demanding man is always sexy, right? Wrong. Some how Leigh managed to make the lead in this role feel entitled to the love of a woman he continually and inconsistently scorned between quick lays. I hope this is not a trend for the author.

If I could have, I would have given no stars. The sex scenes in this book were too raunchy for my tastes. They went too far. After reading the first one, I skipped past all the others. It's books like these that give romance novels a bad name. I'll never read another book by Ms Leigh.

I honestly loved this book! Yes there were some typos and details I had to go back and read over, but overall it was just a fun read. I liked catching up with all of the characters and loved the Epilogue tying everything up. I really loved the last chapter where she almost gave you a hint that there would be more books, hopefully featuring some of the secondary characters. I say give it a chance and don't judge it so harshly.

This book should NEVER have been labeled Romantic Suspense....it's pure raunch! I cringed through most of the book just trying to get through the "love" scenes to the plot. The descriptions of the sex scenes were so disgusting that when I read one particularly nauseating one to my husband, he literally gagged. There was never a sense of a deep connection or love between the hero and heroine, just sleazy sex. Jordan was a jackass, a total disappointment. Tehya was nearly one of those TSTL heroines. WAY too many f-bombs dropped, typos, words left out. I am no prude, explicit scenes don't bother me and I've enjoyed her books in the past, but this was just plain filth. Not worth the paper it's printed on. Live Wire should have been titled EPIC FAIL instead.

I love the earlier books in the Black Ops and Navy Seals books, but this one just didn't cut it for me. It was a good book, but I'm used to reading great and amazing books from Lora Leigh. New editor maybe?

I loved it. I thought Jordan and Tehya were hot hot hot. I LOVED the way he talked to her in the bedroom (and the kitchen, and the conference room, where ever). The story worked for me. I read in some of the reviews that the reason Jordan didn't believe in love was sketchy, but I totally got it. Really great ending to the Elite Ops series for me.
I liked seeing all the other elite ops couples, and the set up for what I hope will be a future series. Rory is definitely in my future reading, although no clue who his woman will be. One other couple was definitely set up and I look forward to them, too.
The typos were there but didn't take away from my enjoyment at all. I would rank this as one of my favorites of the series.

The book did not live up to the previous books of the Elite Ops. It revolved more about sex that an actual story. I was appalled at the grammatical errors. The book was published as though no one ever bothered to edit or check for typos or misspellings. In all the book did not live up to expectations. I would not recommend this book unless you just want to read the story of Jordan Malone.

What an amazing story. If you like the hard, tuff, strong men in black ops and special forces with that self denial of love and the torture the feel then this is a great book for you. Man I loved this story, as I loved the whole series.

Please ignore the rants of those who didn't like this book! The story of Jordan and Teyah was the perfect ending to a great series.
The most common complaint of this book seems to be that there is too much sex... seriously? We are talking about two characters that have been denied physical intimacy through self denial for over six years. It was easy for Jordan to keep himself restrained during his time as commander but that time is over and although he still denies that love exists, out of fear and self preservation, the sex dam has been broken. The fact that they can't get enough of each other now that that barrier has been broken is more than appropriate in my opinion. The undeniable connection between Jordan and Teyah wouldn't have been believable otherwise.
As far as the grammatical and story line flubs (regarding ages and other such nonsense)... yes they were minor mistakes that were surprising but (especially if you have been with the series from the begining) it's really not that big of a deal and doesn't take away from the story if you don't reside on some grammatical high horse.
By far the only thing disappointing about this story is that fact that it marks the end of a series that has grown near and dear to my heart. Lora Leigh is by far my favorite author! Her development of characters, complicated story lines, and all-consuming love between her main characters is what sets her far ahead of the rest in the romance world.
Lora Leigh has the amazing ability to emotionally invest you in each one of her characters. Throughout the entire SEAL and Ops books I valued seeing each character grow and find their true happiness.
I not only recommend this book... I implore who ever is going to read it that they also read the SEAL and Op books that have come before it (if you haven't done so already). More than worth the time... more than worth the money.
