the writing is fluid i love both authors' previous books...so i expected some hotness..
the male characters are over-the-top perfect macho men, of course billionaires, whom only want gavin's (the ceo) mousy secretary as their mistress/wife/love slave. the latter is the part that bothered me the most. this girl has no clue how much these men want her, yet when they're kidnap..err "whisking" her away on their private jet, she immediatelly succumbs to become their spanked/obedient slave. i did not expect the slave-training aspect of the book, as a menage story would've been better. she has zero redeeming qualities or anything remotely interesting about her. i'm sorry, deciding to like "topping from the bottom" is not enough to prove she has any strenght or character. oh spoiler alert.. the dimwit i mean the heroine not only becomes their "wife" but part owner and vp of their company... right..

It was just ok. It took an effort to finish it. The story line while sounding promising did not live up to the hype. I didn't care about the characters. I tried this book because of a Lexi Blake book I really enjoyed. I'll stick to books where she's the sole author.

A great book by Shayla Black and new author, Lexie Blake. It has everything to keep the reader captivated to the end. Ms. Black is an autobuy for me and I will definitely be checking into Ms. Blake's books. I recommend this book!

I like reading about strong women. This women was represented as a weak, pathetic toy for 3 brothers. Not sure what I was expecting when I purchased this book, but most definitely did not enjoy this read.

Another reviewer said it all but I will state it, again...
Heroine is wishy-washy & did I already say, an idiot? She's a doormat of the first order, too stupid to report odd happenings, dumb enough to buy a gun & then NOT learn how to use it, weak enough to allow those so called 'men' around her to tell her what to do and buy their on-going garbage. Speaking of garbage one of the heros treats her like complete trash & she keeps coming back for more of it! Nuh-uh! No way! I guess there are still those woman out there who like to be walked all over, but I'm not one of them.
The so-called heros (read: overbearing-inconsiderate-arrogant-mean hearted, & egotistical) take over her life & kidnap her (so romantic - NOT). All 4 of them have sex with her, after spanking her, w/o even a care that she is indeed a virgin!
I know, I know... other menage novels have the same issue (multiple partners & virgin, one after the other or even both men - or more/all- at the same time.) that doesn't make it sexy, only horribly painful for the woman. I don't care how well prepared & turned on any woman is, she would not be able to handle them all straight out of the gate for goodness sake.
I found no redeeming qualities at all in the men & by the end of the book (which I forced myself to finish) I wanted to put them all over MY knee and beat the bejesus out of them & her!

Any one who has not read a "Shayla Black" book is missing out on another awesome book. Whether she is writing about Wizards, BDSM or historical characters her stories always pull me in. I read her books twice as fast as any other book. I just can't put them down. This story does not disappoint.

I've always wondered how collaboration works with authors. Do they each write a chapter and pass it back and forth? How do they resolve disagreements about how the story should go? Well, I wish I could've been a fly on the wall when Shalya Black and Lexi Blake wrote this amazing romantic, erotic story.
Did I tell you it was HOT?
Wow! I'm having trouble breathing right now just thinking about Hannah and her three captors. This book has all the elements I love. Sex. Danger. Sex. Romance. Sex. Emotion. Sex. Hot guys. Sex.
If Ms. Black and Ms. Blake ever read this reader's review, here's my request, ladies: Please, more collaboration! Thank you.
I need more ice cubes just to cool down from this one.

Well, here we go again! Your weary reviewer has slogged her way through another of these things. Want to know what I found out?
1. The plot is the same for the ENTIRE series. Pick one, read it, ignore the others. You won't be missing anything.
2. Cookie cutter plot is used again and again. Three stupendously handsome stud muffins have the hots for some wishy washy naive little virgin.
3. The stud-muffins are Heavily into the BDSM lifestyle and will inflict it on the unwilling female of their choice.
4. The stud-muffins are extremely close with a warped sense of love and sharing their possessions. They're either rich businessmen, rich Middle Eastern princes, or former military men who really get off on the torture thing.
5.The virgin is either a klutz, oblivious to her beauty, sweetly innocent, has the hots for her bosses, and has some sort of problem stemming from family and or financial difficulty.
6.The virgin is in some sort of danger, hence the stud-muffins are fully prepared to kidnap the object of their desire even if she's screaming at the top of her lungs.
7.Stud-muffins WILL seduce virgin on a private jet, cabin in Alaska, deserted island, and be generally annoying and pushy about the whole thing. Virgin will be reluctant and feel very uncomfortable. But she can't help what she's feeling, so it's all good. Sexual assault, anyone?
8. One of the stud-muffins will be an arse. He's either killed somebody, been responsible in some way, or just really hates emotional entanglements of any kind. On a lighter note. The other two stud-muffins are sweet and usually break the virgin in so Mr. Grumpy can ride her later.
9.Virgin is reluctant to give in to her desire for her men. Ugh. She's also emotionally unprepared for all the perversion they want to inflict on her, but will spank her anyway.
10. Stud-muffins will assert dominance immediately and they REALLY hate underwear. Sounds like a recipe for pneumonia. They order her not to wear any! Nope, ain't going there.
11. Virgin is deflowered by two large stud-muffins and is still able to walk the next morning and become instantly proficient in the fine art of pleasing a man orally. I feel the need for SCOPE right now!!!
12. Virgin is in danger. DUH! She's either been marked for murder by an unhinged family member, a stalker who wants to hug and squeeze her for their very own, or vicious ex-flame. Go figure.
13. Virgin retains her innocence in spite of being used as a blowup doll. Same descriptions in most books. Stud-muffins realize she'll always be sweet. I certainly hope so. Wouldn't want her to spoil.
14. Virgin has to be "prepared" for backdoor love. Butt plugs are the stud-muffins' preferred toy of choice. They really like inserting and leaving it in ALL day. Yeah... Where's the door? Virgin is completely okay with this.
15. Mr. Grumpy is cruel and uses virgin like toilet paper. She still loves him after he gets off and tells her to hit the trail. He's a romantic, that one!
16. Danger ensues with virgin being kidnapped from stud-muffins. One or two will usually save the day. Mr. Grumpy is usually off feeling sorry for himself but decides he likes riding virgin too much, so he saves her. Virgin thinks he's the Bee's Knees.
17. Virgin is now ready to take all her men, in every orifice she has available. She doesn't require immediate medical attention 'cause it's all good. She's sturdy y'all.
18. Happy ending with Mr. Grumpy coming to grips with emotional baggage. Virgin is happily married to one or all three stud-muffins. Will soon become pregnant. Who's the daddy?
19. End book. Start another. Change names, setting, dialogue. Wouldn't want anyone to think it's the same book.
20. Long shower required, preferably in disinfectant. Will wonder why this series is so popular when the stud-muffins are just domineering jerks who want to have it their way, right away.
21. Wish I could unread this stuff. Not worth the money to download. Very disappointing and frustrating read.

There were aspects of this story I liked. I enjoy menage books. Especially ones that all the men are dedicated to their woman's pleasure. This book had that basic premise. The main characters had back story that added to the plot. And there was more to the overall story than just 4 people trying to hook up.
There were also some things I didn't like. The men had some moments were they came across as over the top crude. It didn't come across as romantic for me, just very sexually charged and kind of aggressive. I think that was my biggest issue with this story. I heard about "dates" that took place, but I never saw any of that. I never got to see any of the relationship building that took place since our heroine got hired. So I wasn't as invested in their relationship. I read about their physical relationship, and then the danger that finally led them to beginning the physical relationship, but no romance. No actually growth of feelings. They were already just... there.
Once everything was said and done, I thought the story was ok. I liked the suspense of the who was behind the danger aspect. I liked the fact that there was an issue for at least one for the characters to overcome to get a HEA. I just wish there had been more shown of the developing relationship. I was there had been more romance

Review for Their Virgin Captive (Masters of Menage Book 1)
by Shayla Black & Lexi Blake
It’s no secret that I’m a huge fan of all things kinky when it comes to my book lovin’ and menage pretty much makes me happy in my pants no matter what form it comes in … this is a MMFM … accept in this case all three of the men are 100% focused on the woman. Lucky bitch.
Their Virgin Captive is not a new book, I know I’m a little slow on the take with this series, but in all fairness I’ve been busy with my TBR and since these babies are stand-alone novels I have read a couple of the newest releases and now I’m circling back around. QUIT JUDGING ME!
Really, I’m not sure what the point of this review is … anyone that’s ever picked up a Shayla Black and/or Lexi Blake book knows these ladies are the bosses of erotica. For those few fools who haven’t jumped on the smut train yet, just know they never, ever disappoint and if you like dirty, kinky smut this series is a MUST READ NOW.
Four stars for a fabulous storyline that makes a person consider that a polyamorous relationship of this nature could actually work and Five drenched panties for holy hotness between the sheets … on the piano … you know, wherever.

Hannah has a crush on her boss Gavin but also likes Dex and Slade, his brothers. What she doesn't know is that the brothers want to share 1 wife. When Hannah's life is threatened, Dex and Slade step up their plan to make Hannah their wife but they still need Gavin to come on board. Gavin is struggling with something in his past that makes him stay away from relationships. Will Hannah be able to break down his walls? I enjoyed the build up of the story between the 4 characters which gave more depth to the sex scenes as they come together.

I'm a HUGE fan of Lexi Blake. I love her writing style. This is the first time that I have read anything by Shayla Black and I thoroughly enjoyed the team effort.
Their Virgin Captive was a good book that definitely entertained me from the start. The ending was especially good and so sweet. I'm so looking forward to the next book in the series.
I liked how Dex and Slade let Hannah know their feelings for her up front. I really liked them as a trio and then as a foursome when Gavin finally pulled his head out of his ass!! lol It definitely took me a lot longer to like Gavin for Hannah since he was constantly mean and cruel to her. Although I understood why he was like this, it was still hard to like him and especially hard to see Hannah hurting over it. I felt really bad for her on more than one occasion. It's a good thing that she had Dex and Slade and I loved how protective they were of her especially with Gavin. I was definitely rooting for these 4 to get their HEA together.
Lexi and Shayla sure do know how to write some sexy Doms and some spicy hot sex scenes!! Whew!!
Good start to a promising series. 4 out of 5 rating.
***Copy provided by Lexi Blake. Thanks Chloe!! :)

This was a good story. I do think things seemed rather rushed though and wish there had been more buildup.
Hannah is sweet but has some spunk as well. She's been the secretary of Gavin for a year and is on friendly terms with all 3 brothers, Gavin, Slade, and Dex. She's fallen in love with all 3 but is very inexperienced and doesn't realize they're attracted to her. When she discovers she has a stalker she doesn't tell them in an effort to be independent and no bother them. When the brothers find out, they don't take it well.
Gavin, Slade, and Dex are brothers and own an oil company. Gavin is the eldest and rather serious. Because of past issues, he pulls himself back from Hannah, feeling he doesn't deserve her. Next in line is Slade who is laid back and usually the diplomat. Dex is the youngest, only a few months younger than Slade. He's illegitimate and grew up in the Foster care system until he was 17 and his brothers found him and brought him home. The brothers love each other but don't always get along the best. Slade and Dex have shared women before and intend to get Hannah between them, hoping to bring Gavin in as well.
When the brothers find out about Hannah's stalker they decide to take her up to their location in Alaska for her safety under the pretense of business. When she refuses to go for business purposes they kidnap her. TBH, none of the brothers handle things very well and all hurt/piss off Hannah. I really wish we'd have gotten more buildup because the beginning pretty much jumps in to things. Others from their company end up coming to Alaska as well and her stalker is in the group. Between dealing with the stalker and the halting start of the relationship between Hannah and the brothers the story doesn't lag. I actually wish it was a little longer (the story takes place over a couple days) because most of what we see is in strife. There are some good times but very little that's settled (except in the epilogue).
Overall this was a good story but I'm not sure if I'll continue with the series.
*note - I listened to the audiobook version of this. The narrator was good but she sometimes seemed to talk a little slower than I'd prefer and sometimes seemed to over-enunciate words. Nothing horrible but I'd only rate her performance as 3/5 stars.

Shayla Black and Lexi Blake put together a hot, sensual and spicy read. Hannah Craig may seem like a sweet naive young girl but in truth she is very smart and stronger then any of her men think she is. Gavin puts her love to the test by trying to push her away but she has his number and fairly quickly he is on his knees begging for forgiveness. My favorite part of this book is where Hannah is sitting in a bar and several men approach her and let her know that they would not mind being her men and Hannah says to herself how in the world would she be able to clean up after all of them. That was my first thought when I starting reading this is how could one woman take care of three grown men. Well of course Slade, Gavin, and Dex are rich oil tycoons so that makes life a whole lot easier.
I love dominant men and really enjoyed this book. I am looking forward to reading more books in this series.

I REALLLLLLLLY wanted to like this book and HAD planned to read the who series but made the awful mistake of listening to the audio version. WORST MISTAKE EVER! I don't know (or at this point even care) who the narrator was but she totally KILLED it for me. Boring voice, horrendous attempts at accents and male voices. She was just annoying. And that killed it for me. I just could not complete it. It was that bad. Maybe I should have read the book instead of doing the audio version. Because it irritated me from the beginning. After reading another review regarding the series being so completely cookie cutter predictable, I will not be finishing this book or the series.

I'm working my way through the romance audiobooks my library has on Overdrive so this was on there and I was a bit hesitant but it was okay even though I don't think listening to erotica on audiobook is really ever good. Most of the language comes off as quite corny and a little cringe-worthy. This story is about three brothers, Dex, Slade and Gavin who all love a woman that works for their company and their protectiveness kicks into gear when a stalker threatens her life. This is not as heavy on the sexy side as you think it might be because it's only 276 pages and there's the stalker storyline too so a lot is covered in a short amount of time. Slade is the best out of the three brothers, definitely prefer his way of treating Hannah versus the other brothers. Not sure if I would pick up other books in the companion series.

My love for Lexi Blake's two novels, The Dom Who Loved Me and The Men with the Golden Cuffs led me to her collaborative effort with well known erotic author Shayla Black.
Their Virgin Captive, the first book in their `Masters of Ménage' series, focuses on the handsome and sexy James brothers, oil tycoons with a penchant for dominance and sharing. ~wink~ ~wink~
Dex and Slade, the younger of the brothers, have formed a close bond having attended college together. They've also been known to share women from time to time so its no secret that when big brother Gavin's secretary Hanna catches their eye, they devise a plan to make her theirs for good.
Big brother Gavin, forced to take over his father's company after his untimely death, feels like he is on the outside looking in as far as his brothers are concerned. Having had to focus on working while they were off at college partying, he doesn't feel as close to them as he wants to be. It doesn't help that he also has his eye on his innocent little secretary but past demons won't allow him to love again.
Hannah Craig, Gavin's innocent and slightly naive secretary, has managed to steal the brothers hearts without even realizing it. She's had feelings for all three for a while but fears that they would never be interested in someone like her. Besides, she's heard the rumors about the brothers, shall we say extracurricular activities, so she is content to fantasize about them and snuggle up with her cat in the evenings to ease her loneliness.
Will Slade and Dex get Hannah to love them and more importantly can they stop Gavin from destroying himself? Will Hannah get the men she's longed for since she met them? Will Gavin get on board with his brothers plans for Hannah or will someone else threaten the love they all long for?
I really enjoyed this book for the most part. Haven't read many Shayla Black novels so I'm not as familiar with her writing style as I am Lexi Blake's and I could definitely see Lexi's influences throughout the story. The brothers were quite interesting in their own right and each possessed his own admirable traits. Dex, the hot headed protector; Slade, the attentive comforter and Gavin, the tortured, mysterious soul. I can totally see why Hannah had feelings for them because I, too, fell in love with all three. ;)
For those familiar with Lexi's novel " The Men with the Golden Cuff's", Slade reminded me so much of Adam that I swear she plucked him right from the pages of that novel and thrust him into this one. "Love" as his choice of endearment takes me right back there. ~swoon~
I loved the stalker storyline as well ( you know I'm a stickler for mystery and sex and if you give me both...I'm in heaven lol) but felt that the book could have been longer in order to develop that storyline a bit more. It seemed that the stalker aspect was only included as a means to thrust the foursome together. I was also a bit disappointed that clues as to the stalker's identity were given fairly early in the novel and this took away from the "sleuthing" aspect for me. I love to focus on the "whodunnit's" (the less predicable the culprit, the better) and was able to figure out the stalker's identity fairly early on *insert sad face here* but the story still managed to hold my interest and that is always a good thing!
I loved the interaction between the characters. It made me want to high five Hannah the way she was able to hold her own with three dominant men, which is no small feat might I add. She didn't do anything she didn't want to do and showed them that she was no pushover. The men, on the other hand, catered to her and treated her like a Queen. Sure, I wanted to smack Gavin at times for being such a douche bag when he knew that he really wanted Hannah but I really felt for him and enjoyed his character the most. The fact that a novel could warrant my involvement in such a way is a sign of good writing my dearies.
Of course some parts of the story were a bit unbelievable( not impossible.... but unbelievable, I say) like a virgin taking on two men in one night and three, the next..anal included but I guess that is why it's called fiction. In any event, it made for some steaming hot sex scenes. I'm talking fan yourself, get the cold shower ready ..HOT!
I'm such a sucker for a happy ending and Black and Blake did not disappoint. I've already started on the next book in the series and I'm sure that I'll enjoy it just as much.

I can totally see why Hannah had feelings for them because I, too, fell in love with all three. ;)

Hannah loves all three brothers in the James gang. She doesn't know that in turn all three brothers are in love with her as well. All are very different personalities with the brothers yet they only have one object in mind, claim their woman and keep her out of harms way by keeping her captive. Sure, while being captive they will coax that sexual side out that she hasn't shown anyone, make her the good little sub they know she will be. This book was pretty hot in my opinion. I know, the stalker bit has been done on more then one occasion in a book, but the James gang will make it worth your while to be held captive. These brothers are so hot and let their Dom sides out while making sure their woman is pleasured. They also had a softer, sweeter side for Hannah in their genuine love for her. Hannah was a good leading lady in that she kept up with the men. She was able to bring out the best in each of them. The only time she irritated me was on second guessing herself, but then again what woman doesn't do that, so I can't really fault her. Plus you have all that hot sex between them. The cover and blurb drew me in....I really enjoyed this hot read by Shayla Black and Lexi Blake. It had me crossing and uncrossing my legs, making me want all three guys being the masters of my sexual pleasure and my heart.
I recieved a complimentary copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

At first I found this book a little all over the place. It was initially hard to follow I thought especially introducing all 4 main characters right of the bat. It also seemed a little forced and totally out there. I've read thousands of books and haven't ever abandoned one. I'm so glad I dug my heels in, for better or worse. Boy am I glad I did. For me, it's okay if a book is unrealistic. That's where fantasy land comes in. Once I had the characters all figured out and I knew who was who, I loved the story. I even had to change my underwear frequently due to the sizzling hot sex scenes. WHOA! SMOKIN! Definitely recommend. Not for the faint of heart however or probably not recommended for those suffering from high blood pressure. I mean this seriously. This one SHOULD come with a health warning.

As a Shayla Black fan, I really wanted more from this story. I got a little bit but not enough. I thought some aspects of the stalker plot were too easy and even nonsensical. So much more could have been done with that. I love a good stalker romance where the h needs protection, where there's some suspense and fear for her safety, but I feel this half-baked stalker plot was there only to push the three brothers and Hannah (I just had to go back and look for her name. That's how much she stood out to me) together, and only for that reason. And that forced time together really could have been done anywhere, with or without the stalker incentive. The whole stalker thing just seemed sort of half-thought out.
As for Hannah, man, did that chick have some TSTL moments. I get that she was conflicted. She's a sweet little virgin whose romance novels have turned her on to menage and D/s; yet, she wants to make sure these boys get that submissive doesn't mean weak or stupid. So to prove her independence and her will, she goes off and does these silly things, like not putting stronger locks on her door, going off to town alone, arguing about having her phone back, arguing about being under these men's protection, all the while with some stalker fixated on her. But I guess since the stalker wasn't really that scary most of the time, it made perfect sense to go hop-scotching around, oblivious, trying to prove a point.
As for the brothers, they were sexy. There's no denying that. While Gavin's behavior did annoy me, and I don't know if some of the things he said to Hannah were forgivable, whatever intention he put behind them, the man just didn't seem to mesh with the menage. Maybe he should have had his own story, one where tortured hero finds his own soulmate, alone. He wasn't even used to sharing with his brothers, I don't think. Now the two other brothers, Slade and Dex, were all into sharing and they made sense in their pursuit of Hannah. All the brothers were hot, Dex most especially. I have to say the menage scenes were erotic, although the bdsm aspect could have been much better conceived.
While I liked the dominant alpha heroes, I needed more story, stalker or no stalker, a stronger and deeper heroine, and bdsm action that felt more real. The sex and the guys were hot, but it's not enough to make this story for me. Overall, this was just an okay read for me. It wasn't a strong page-turner. I'm hoping the next book in the series is better.

Their Virgin Captive by Shayla Black and Lexi Blake
This book falls into my `short story' section at 14 chapters. It was a bit rushed for me but on the whole better than some I've read so I rated it as good. I would have liked a bit more story in the beginning, more details on the characters. This would have explained the almost sudden deflowering of Hannah to me. Also Gavin rapid change into a "Dom" was just unexpected to me. I'm hoping the next one in this series will be a bit longer.

What woman wouldn't want to be held captive by strong, hot, alpha men? I absolutely loved this story. If you like a good ménage story then you will thoroughly enjoy this one. Can't wait to read/listen to more by Shayla Black and Lexi Blake! (I bought the audio book thru audible.com)

I wasn't sure what to expect since this was the first book I read in the series. This book was excellently interesting. It was one of those books that has suspense and romance. I liked that we don't find out who the bad guy is until near the end. I'm excited to read the rest of the series!

three guys have watched their brother's secretary since day one. now, they can't wait and all three hwad to alaska under the idea of protecting her from a stalker.
the stalker follows and the guys almost lose her, lucky that their surrogate mom finds her. then her stalker comes and . . . you will have to figure out what happens for yourself.
it was a good book!

I'm a Shayla Black fan, but this book is terrible! The "heroine" is a brainless twit & the men are not so much dominant alphas as they are just plain ol' a**holes. The stalker subplot is absolutely pointless, just kinda thrown in there to account for the general ding-battiness of the "heroine". I'm going to have to force myself to finish because I've never not finished a book in my life.

When I picked up this book I was honestly expecting a lot more "sex" than what was there. Don't get me wrong there was sex, but it was dispersed evenly through the book and didn't make me want to stop reading. The plot was great and I honestly didn't expect the stalker to be who it turned out to be.

Pretty good. The story is interesting but not really believable. But that's exactly why I love reading. To escape from my boring reality. Sex was off the charts hot so I will definitely be reading more.
