I read this book it two days! It was recommended to me by my daughter who simply said this is a "must" read. I was immersed in a matter of minutes. The psychological warfare between the three main characters was chilling. I could not put this book down.

Amazing!!!! The setting, the characters, the twist—it was hard to put down. Although I thought some of the dialogue felt a little forced and unnatural (which I now understand why in some circumstances), I was able to look past it because I was so invested in the story. Even though the ending was great, I wish it didn’t have to come to end. Whatever book I choose next has a lot to live up to compared to this :)

I really liked the characters and could relate to a lot of the book, living near Greenwich, CT. It enjoyed the characters. I think I liked the first half of the book better than the second, but then again I had to keep reading to see how it would all pan out. If you’re a fan of Gone Girl or Big Little Lies read this book.

This book. was. AMAZING. I started reading it on a Thursday night and did not put it down until I finished it on that Sunday night. It was so twisted and unpredictable, it had me wanting more! Liv Constantine, if you wrote a sequal about Daphne trying to move on with her life but her past seems to find her, that would be great! Definitely recommend this book to any and everyone!

This book is very predictable and tedious! I felt the glitz of the life of the rich substituted for any depth of character or subtle plotting. There was no character I was interested in much less identified with.

You can kind of see the “twist” coming from a mile away, but I will tell you, this book is beyond enjoyable to read! I couldn’t put it down, it’s fast paced and never boring, providing enough back story while keeping up the pace! I’d definitely recommend it!

This book pulled me in, led me along an intriguing plot, and then spun me around with a very clever twist. When I first started reading, I really thought i knew exactly what would happen, but the author sure had something more diabolical in mind! I loved thus book with its finely fleshed out characters, vivid descriptions, and very satisfying ending!

Developers slowly but when it does it is rich. (No pun intended.)
Timing in my life to read book was perfect — unfortunately there is a clear current of truth underlying this novel. I am stronger for having read it.

I really wanted to love this book, BUT I couldn’t. It was a very easy read and it kept my interest; however, I was able to predict what was happening. The first several hundred pages had a ton of character development and then all of the sudden... it came to a stop and wrapped up verrrrry quickly.

For full disclosure (and because I’m so giddy about this), I know the authors. One of them has known me for nearly my whole life and I have seen her sister at various occasions throughout my life as well. But! My 4-star rating is not gosh-wash; this is a terrific novel.
I don’t often choose novels with characters of this type; i.e., the super-rich society people. I’m not very interested in celebrities or people who live that lifestyle, however, this element was essential to the plot and was masterfully employed.
The novel winds along following, from an omniscient point-of-view, Amber Patterson, a small-town “nobody,”who seeks to insinuate herself into the lives of Daphne and Jackson Parrish, super-rich society people. You will hate Amber almost from the first page as you see how deviously she plans her moves and how despicably she will go about getting what she wants.
But where the novel really blew my mind was in Part II, when we now see the story as it unfolded from Daphne’s point-of-view. Oh. My. Gosh! If an author can surprise me, they have me forever and that is just what happened from the first line of Part II. I already had some notions about how this book was going to go, but I WAS WRONG! The central twist of plot was not what I expected. Who is bad in this story and in what way they are bad DID surprise me! (Well, except for Amber; she is bad from the first word to the last.)
The authors do a superb job of describing the sociopathic behavior of a character. The acts are so wrong and yet ring utterly true. The turtles. The food. The journals. The initials. The gaslighting. It’s terrific.
My only mild complaint about the story, and why it gets 4 stars and not five, (Actually, I would give it 4.5 if I could, because this is minor) is that the pacing towards the end is very fast and some details are not resolved comprehensively. In other words, there was great story tension surrounding a couple of questions (i.e., is she pregnant with a boy?), but those questions are answered in an incidental way, which felt like a betrayal of the tension torqued up earlier. Perhaps the authors had more to say about those things, but they had to be shaved for length. It wasn’t a serious problem.
In summary, this book was a great page-turner that was hard to put down. It showed great insight into how people behave, especially where devious and manipulative people are concerned. If there’s a lesson in the book, it is that you never know what goes on behind closed doors, and money is clearly not everything.

Kept me reading into the night! This was one book I could not put down!! I’m looking forward to more from these two sisters who show us that two minds are better than one! I thought the characters were well developed and intelligent. An insightful read about the workings of anti-social, narcissistic minds and the karma that finally catches up to them!

I really enjoyed this. The first part of the book was a little predictable, but I also understood the need for learning about the characters and setting the stage. The middle to end, really engaged me and I loved the smart twists and turns. Very enjoyable! I'm so glad I chose this one and went on thus adventure. I really felt for each character.

I found this book from following Resse Witherspoon on Instagram. She shared this as part of her book club. I downloaded it instantly and couldn't wait to start reading it! I liked that the story was told in different parts and from different point of view. The ending is one that I never saw coming! Suspenseful and easy read.

I was happy with the continued suspense throughout the novel. Halfway through, I was actually shocked and thrilled about how the narrative changed (Gone Girl fans will like this also.) Kept me on the edge of my seat. Four start because I felt that some of the twists were predictable, but I wanted to keep reading to see if my predictions were correct.
