of the book with what is an existing technology or a factual accounting and what is something he elaborated on for the story. The 'look up more on this detail' links are real and frequently fascinating.

This is an entertaining book, I loved it! I first read The Doomsday Key. And then I decided to buy all the Sigma Force novels. I already read The Devil Colony and The Judas Strain. James Rollins, please continue writing Sigma Force novels? Thank you!

James Rollins is very prolific and can pick a subject out of thin air and make you drool all the way through the book! He is a wonderful writer, and his books are winners every time. He varies his subjects and keeps you excited, scared, happy, sad, whatever - during the entire process of reading all his books. "The Last Oracle" is no exception! A Number 10, again!
The Templar's Relic (A James Acton Thriller - Book #4) (James Acton Thrillers) :: A Short Story Exclusive (Sigma Force Series) - The Skeleton Key :: Sandstorm (Sigma Force) :: Crash and Burn: A Sigma Force Short Story :: Enemy Women: A Novel

The science, the history and the fictional characters all come together for a fabulous read! I recommend any James Rollins book to the reader who enjoys good suspense mixed with real life information.

James Rollins does it again in "The Last Oracle"! Well-crafted suspense, interesting characters with just enough continuing back story, and a fascinating use of science to create science fantasy/ possible future.
My favorite "new" author!

Rollins is unique with his accounting of what was factual information used in his books. The comment about the use of propranolol to induce memory loss is troubling since I take it in small doses for hypertension. At least reading the Rollins books has a calming effect. :)

I reallyl enjoyed this book tremendously, intelligent writing, interesting and intricate plot, excellent character development, and most of all, quite believable! Highly recommend this one especially if you are a history fan. The way the various historical events are tied in make for a fascinating reading.

James Rollins is an awesome author of Clive Cussler caliber. All of his books are great. It does help to read them in order but it is not required. As a former Brentano's manager I suggest this author. Always an excellent read.

If you like historical fiction, this is your guy. He has the uncanny knack of centering an exciting story around historical artifacts and archaeological findings. He always keeps your attention with a cast of recurring characters.

The book is not enjoyable. The story takes place all over the world, but the author doesn't seem to know enough about the places or people of which he writes. The attempt to "write" in a Russian accent for one of the minor charactors wasn't the first sign of trouble. It was a beacon of the problems within the book. The story tends to backfill details, to tell why someone did the minor deed or took that unimportant step, all in an effort to develop the charactors. Although this isn't a bad method of story telling, in this book is comes off as tedious.
I did not find this book to be an enjoyable read. The charactors are ultimately not compelling and I can see from the type of scenes and settings, the author is hoping for a movie deal. This got in the way of trying to write a story that is enoyable in book form.

Having read most of Rollins' books (I'm waiting until after seeing the movie before reading the Crystal Skull), his writing style and abilities are only getting better. Looking forward to his next offering!!

James Rollins keeps you wanting more of his SIGMA operatives! Intriguing characters keep you wanting more and more of these killer scientists! I couldn't put the book down once I started reading. Wish they would make a movie/TV series out of these novels!

I bought this in hardcover an started reading it but lost the book before I finished it. Then I bought it in paperback and got halfway again and the spine died and the book fell apart. Finally I buy the unabridged audio and you will not believe it, I receive two sets of the first 6 CD's. I still do not know how this bloody thing ends
