Cammie Morgan attends the Gallagher Academy, a boarding school that trains girls to be spies. In this, the fourth book in the series, Cammie and her three best friends are still dealing with the fallout from a kidnapping attempt the previous fall, and when they return from winter break they find many changes at their beloved school.

I know that's not much of a summary, but the twists and turns in this book start early, and I wouldn't want to spoil any of them. And really, didn't I have you at girl spies go to boarding school? Fans of the series should know that many favorite characters are present in this book along with a few new ones, and while the bulk of the book takes place at Gallagher, Cammie also gets to take some excellent road trips.

What really sets this book apart for me is the writing; it sparkles so that there are no boring moments. Even the exposition is laced with humor, and the book is filled with Cammie's distinctive voice: "If we hadn't hated him a lot, we might have liked him a little at that moment. But we did. So we didn't." The writing is sharp and fast-paced and Carter covers a lot of story in 265 pages. And though there are obviously more books to come (and a pretty sweet cliff hanger-ish ending to this one), the book is also satisfying on its own. Not every author can wrap up a book's storyline while serving the series-long plot arc, but Carter manages this perfectly. I can't wait to find out what Cammie gets up to next.

**This is book 4 of the “Gallagher Girls” series, so there may be some spoilers re previous volumes.**

Who would have thought that a junior in high school would be hiding in plain sight from a super secret international spy organization? Cammie has always known that she would go into the family business, but she can't imagine why the people who supposedly killed her father would be after her. But then the other shoe drops while she's hanging out with one of her best friends in London over Winter Break (heavily guarded, of course): Joe Solomon, her favorite teacher from the Gallagher Academy, is a double agent. He joined the Circle of Cavan when he was only sixteen and while at Blackthorne, the boys' equivalent of her school.

Suddenly Zach is in front of her, and before she can register surprise, he tells her to run. In trying to escape, she loses Bex's parents (who are no slouches in the spy department). That's when Mr. Solomon finds her. He looks worse than she's ever seen him. And he begs her to listen as he tells her to follow the pigeons. Then, in front of all of Cammie's guards, he disappears. Off the Tower Bridge and into the freezing Thames.

Shocked, Cammie and her three loyal besties can't believe that Mr. Solomon is with the Circle. Should they even try to figure out the cryptic message he left? Everyone they trust seems to think that he is guilty and that they can't handle the whole truth. But if he is a double agent, does that mean that Zach is in on this too?

Another great chapter in the series. I have already read the next one (it's a long story), so that means I only have one more book in the series (sad face). But at least I'll be able to start on Ms. Carter's new series!

Only the Good Spy Young by Ally Carter was published June 29, 2010 by Disney Hyperion. I got this from the library.

I loved this instalment of the Gallagher Girls. As the series has progressed, the books have become more intense, with deeper more insightful issues being addressed and we get to find out more about Cammie's family.

In this book, Cammie is fully aware that she is the target but has no idea why. Extra security measures are being enforced at the school, and despite Cammie being the 'chameleon,' she finds she is now in the limelight and is constantly being watched.

Joe Solomon, their previous Co-ops teacher, is on the run and despite Cammie and the girls believing in his innocence, all the adults are positive he is working for the Circle who are after Cammie. As a result, there is a new Covert Operations teacher, but it seems he is there more to search the school for leads on Solomon and get into Sublevel 2 (which has locked itself to everyone) than teach the students. Furthermore, the girls do Not like Agent Townsend, and want to know just exactly what he is hiding.

Yes, Zach is back and we uncover more of his secrets too, and we learn more about Blackthorne and its students.

Love, love, love this series and if you haven't read it then you must give it a try! The ending was brilliant and I cannot wait to read the next instalment!

Favourite quotes:

"You still don't get it do you?" he was almost smiling as he closed the folder. "Joe Solomon is the threat."
"That's ridiculous," I shot back. "Mr Solomon is my teacher."
The man stood. "You can stop calling him 'mister,' young lady." He walked to the door and rapped on the glass. "Joe Solomon will never be your teacher again."

I know this is going to sound crazy, but when you're a spy, your life isn't defined by the lies you tell, but by the truths. A lie wouldn't change anything I sat there, numb, knowing that the truth...the truth could set me free.

"No," I shook my head. "That's just it. We don't know anything. I know bombs and antidotes and how to say 'parakeet' in Portuguese, but I don't know where my father is buried."

There are things that go unsaid between people lingering under the surface for decades, for lifetimes. I've wondered sometimes if spies have fewer of those things. More, I think. There are just too many thing that even the bravest of people in the world aren't brave enough to say out loud.

"She said he's alive!"
"Don't let yourself be fooled, Cammie!" my mother snapped, then dropped her voice to a whisper, "Don't let yourself...hope."
I know too well how dangerous hope can be, how it grows and sometimes dies, taking its host with it. It's more powerful than anything Dr. Fibs keeps in his labs, more precious than all the secrets in Sublevel Two.

Well, needless to say, that was followed by a lot of hugging. And some crying. And a fair amount of "I-love-you-too-ing." But, eventually, they had to let me go. Eventually, everyone does.

Only the Good Spy Young is the Gallagher Girls book I'd like to call "know more about Zach GG book". As always, Ally Carter delivers a fast-paced, thrilling, adventurous, romantic and enigmatic story in this fourth installment of the GG series.
I cannot believe it's the fourth book already! It only feels like yesterday when I opened the first one and read about Cammie and her elite, spy school. I still feel a lot like there's more that we don't know though - about Cammie, her past, her father, and of course Zachary. But I have to say that there are some pretty juicy stuff we'd be (finally) privy to in this book and they're quite surprising.

I love that there's so much more mystery and action in this book than the previous ones. It's packed, fast-paced and there's so much going on in every page turned. I love how Cammie finally unravels bit by bit things about herself and her past she never knew before. We'll see a different, stronger, more grown up Cammie in this one and for that I came to adore her character more. Also we get to see Zach in a whole new light - that there's so much more to the cocky, tough guy exterior he chooses to show. It felt nice to see that for once, Zach was sharing things about himself voluntarily (although very reluctantly) and not hiding the truth with his sarcastic words and swoon-worthy smile. This books presents a vulnerable, soft side to him and I just fell in love with him even more!

This book will definitely not disappoint. I feel that it's cut too short though and that some things should've took more time to develop and unravel. But aside from that, I couldn't come up with anything more to say that I didn't like about the book.
Trust me, you wouldn't want to miss this!

------
"Despite having known him for almost a year, there were a lot of things I still didn't know about Zachary Goode. Like how soap and shampoo could smell so much better on him than anyone else. Like where he went when he wasn't mysteriously showing up at random (and frequently dangerous) points in my life. And, most of all, I didn't know how, when he mentioned the jacket, he made me think about the sweet, romantic part of the night last November when he'd given it to me, and not the terrible, bloody, international-terrorists-are-trying-to-kidnap-me part that came right after."

"A spy's life isn't about never taking chances. It's about taking chances that are worth the risk." "Only the Good Spy Young" by Ally Carter is a realistic-fiction story about a teenage spy named Cammie and her question filling story. I couldn't put the book down and was so intrigued from all the mind-bobbling question I wondered.

As a reader of this book who didn't read any of the other books in this series, I probably had a lot more questions than people who read the first book. For example, when it said, "...as I lay staring at the woman who had found me on a rooftop in Boston." I was so confused because they never went to Boston in this book but I suppose it was in the book before this one.

It was hard to like some parts because in my opinion, Mr. Townsend, a teacher/agent, was super boastful and always dis included Cammie in the painful truth to some questions she and I both had even though she deserved it.

Most people think that all action parts get boring and they sometimes do but Carter twists in some romance as well with devastating betrayals. In this, I would hook onto a character and then be upset when I realized that he or she was a betrayer. You couldn't really trust or believe in what someone says if this was real.

I recommend this book to girls who are 10-13 and love action, mystery, romance and adventure. I enjoyed this book over all and hope other girls would as well because this is something worth to be read and I hope others could experience the questions, fun and sadness of this amazing and wonderful and DEFINITELY an experience kind of book.

This is the fourth book of the series "Gallagher Girls". Like the first three, this book amazed me to the end. In this book, Cammie encounters very disturbing and shocking news, where someone she dearly trusts turns out to be the "bad guy". This time, Cammie has to decide for herself, on who to trust and believe, which made it very interesting.

Since starting this book, it was very catching. It caught me from the start, and i couldn't put it down. The events that were happening were fun and interesting. There was lots of suspense during the story, which made me want to know what happens next.

Cammie, as always, was amazing. I love this girl! She is so strong and stubborn and always does what she sets her mind on doing. (Kinda like me! hehe) Her other three best friends are so supportive of her, and they would sacrifice their lives in order to protect her. They were friends anyone would wish to have.

I liked how Zach was involved in this story. Cammie wasn't so sure about trusting him, and at the same time, she loved him. It was mixed feelings and Cammie was very confused, which gave it quiet a twist. I love Zach so i enjoyed reading every bit about him. He is so mysterious, and finally, in this book, you get to know many things about him. Im not going spoil anything, but you do learn some interesting facts about this young boy.

Overall, it is a very exciting book! If you haven't read this series, i suggest that you do. I love spy books because i have this impossible dream of wanting to become a spy. I probably think the fourth book is the best out of all, and i cant wait for the fifth one, which is called "Out of Sight, Out of Time" to come out!

Happy Reading!

Cammie Morgan is a Gallagher Girl, one of an elite group of girls training to be spies. She has been training for a dangerous life as spy for years. But now, a junior at the Gallagher Academy, she is facing serious, life threatening danger. It's not just classroom lessons and theory anymore. In a previous book, Cammie faced off against an ancient terrorist organization dead set on kidnapping her. That's when her life turned upside down. I could go into more detail than the store does, but I don't want to spoil it for those who not have read the book.

Now the danger follows her everywhere, and even Cammie "The Chameleon" can't hide. When a terrifying encounter in London reveals that one of her most-trusted allies is actually a rogue double-agent, Cammie no longer knows if she can trust her classmates, her teachers--or even her own heart.
Somehow I went straight from book one to book four. Even though there were some missing blanks along the way Carter does such an excellent job of storytelling that I was able to keep up with the general plot in book four, even though I have not yet read books two and three.

This is what I like to call a smart girls series. Cammie Morgan is a strong female character with the brains and courage to carry the story all on her own. However, she doesn't have to go it alone. Her roommates, her crush, and her teachers all combine to make this an interesting and well developed story. Each of the characters is amazingly strong and talented.
Though I was able to pick up the storyline fairly easily without having read books two and three, I highly recommend that you read the books in order.

Other books in the series include:
I'd Tell You I Love You, But Then I'd Have to Kill You (Gallagher Girls)
Cross My Heart and Hope to Spy (Gallagher Girls)
Don't Judge a Girl by Her Cover (Gallagher Girls)
Only the Good Spy Young (Gallagher Girls)

Recommended for grades 6th and up.

COVERT OPERATIONS REPORT:
Operative O. begins what she hopes is a semi-helpful review of Only the Good Spy Young by Ally Carter.

The Operative was able to ascertain the following:
-Operative O. learned more about the "Mysterious Blackthorne Institute for Boys" and let me tell you there's a reason it's hidden and surrounded by mountians, rivers, and forest.
-Why Joe Solomon acted the way he did.
-Sometimes it's better to not know everything because in the end it'll make things worse.
-more info on Zach became avaiable. It's always fun to learn about the hotties. :)
-learned about Bex's family. (always nice to know about a fellow spy)

Alright now that I've had my little fun with "The Report" I actually read the first book last year I think, and loved it. Why it took me so long to read the rest of the books I don't know. Stupid me. I finished the next 3 books. (This being the last for now) in about 2 days tops. I was hooked. Yes, at times it seemed like each book was like the one before: a few weeks before school something happens, get to school to learn something about what happened, mission from teacher, the girls own mission on the side, the major mission for a grade (supposely), back to school with an ending that is or isn't good. Still I loved reading them.

Overview:
This time Cammie started off in London with her best friend Bex and Bex's parents. They were all having fun ice skating when things went south, and then Joe Solomon shows up with a warning/message for Cammie "follow the pidgeons". Poor Cammie has no idea what that means, and why is it her once hot Cove Ops teacher looks mad crazy. Before she can talk to him he takes off. Then she's taken to some CIA people who question her about what happened and what he told her. What a wonderful winter vacation right? When she returns to the academy she learns things have definitely changed for her and the school. The school that she once was able to roam freely about is now a no-roam-free zone. All her secret passageways and hideouts are all closed up, and she's pretty much stuck inside.

Characters:
Really there's not much difference in the characters now then when the books started except maybe that Bex and Cammie's roles have flip flopped. :) Cammie is the one always putting herself in danger and Bex is trying to be level-headed, but when your a spy level-headed sometimes doesn't work. Even though not much has changed with the characters I still enjoyed them very much. The girls are always planning something and the list they make are funny.

It was nice to actually learn a bit more about Zach, the mysterious blackthorn boy from the other two books. We got to see inside the grounds of blackthorne. I like Zach, but then again what girl doesn't like those dangerous type.

We got to see the workings of Joe Solomon, and see what his connection with everything was.

We learned a little about Cammie's Dad through the journals. Is he really still alive after all this time?

Okay I know this wasn't that helpful, but there's only so much you can say about a 4th book in a series. :) I will say this if you haven't read them. I recommend it they're adorable and spies. What's not to love?

Ally Carter never ceases to amaze me. Her books are action packed and never boring. This is a great fourth installment to the Gallagher Girls series and I look forward to reading book five next week!

Now we know Macey was never the target. Cammie is on lock-down at Gallagher Academy, but it's not like she has any secret passage to exit through, or does she? Not only are her professors beginning to tell her about the Circle, but she soon finds that one of the most trusted people she knows is in it. And the boy, Zach, what does he have to do with all of this? I guess you will have to read to find out.

I loved this book. Because Mr. Solomon is gone, the girls have a very inept Covert Operations professor this semester. He can't even get into Sublevel 2! So, the operatives decide to do some reconnaissance of their own. What they find could change Cammie's view of Zach, the boy we all know she loves but won't allow herself to trust, and help her understand what really happened to her dad so many moons ago.

I highly recommend reading the entire Gallagher Girls series. Some parts may be slow at times, but the story isn't over yet and I don't think I will ever get tired of these spies. Let's just hope no one gets hurt....

The Gallagher Girls series was one of the first ones that originally got me hooked on YA, and over the years it has been a series I've faithfully followed. So, it's no surprise that I not only read Only the Good Spy Young, the forth addition, but loved it as much as I did.

Only the Good Spy Young is yet another fast paced, addicting sequel in which Cammie and her friends not only find out even more surprising secrets but get into lots of interesting, tension filled, as well as sometimes funny, spy adventures.

In this addition, in particular, Cammie and her crew are dealing with some scary things. For one, during winter break Cammie and Bex meet up with a trusted ally, only to find out he's a rogue, undercover double agent, someone who may have been involved in Cammie's dad's demise! Further more, Cammie's also dealing with the fact that her mother's missing in action, she has a new, mysterious teacher teacher, and, yeah, the boy she kind-of loves keeps showing up in the most odd of locations. And that's only the beginning, and while Cammie, Liz, Bex, and Macey may not have it all figured out yet, they do know one thing: Junior year is going to be killer!

One of the big thing that also keeps me coming back for more of the Gallagher Girls series is the girls themselves. Bex, Cammie, Liz, and Macey are all fearless and brilliant in their own ways, and when mixed together they get in some of the most hilarious and interesting trouble ever. In this sequel, I particularly liked how Cammie's character continued to grow, as well as how we got to see more of her and Zach's relationship.

Just like the previous prequels, Only the Good Spy Young is filled with action, action, and more action, and while the plot did stall in some places at times, I can't truly say I was disappointed in any ways with this. One of the things I liked most about this one was the way Ally has the plot developing in even more details, and let me tell you, the secrets you're about to find out in this one are shocking and oh-so-interesting.

In all, Ally Carter has yet another winner in Only the Good Spy Young. I can only hope the sequel (coming in 2012) will be as good!

Wow, this book was an absolute rollercoaster! My stomach was turned inside out and my brain was pestered with endless questions. Carter really makes us think and question everything we've ever known. Secrets and mysteries have been growing from the very first book and we're now inching closer and closer to the finishing line!

I guess it's obvious what you can expect from this book. Your attitudes towards certain characters will change, shocking revelations will be made and you'll get to see scenes you've been waiting to see for years! We delve into Cammie's past and finally get some real answers. Strap in because we're going for a bumpy ride!

Only The Good Spy Young is very plot-centric and I really can't say much without giving everything away. Everything you need to know about this great book is basically summarised in the previous paragraph! Your mouth will be left agape for the majority of the novel and well, that's it...

I really enjoyed this novel because, like I said, we learn more about characters and their pasts. Some discoveries are more shocking than others but they're all still good to know! The only thing that did irk me a little about the book was the ending. I felt like berating Cammie but I guess we'll have to wait and see what happens in Out of Sight, Out of Time! I admit, I'm a little devastated that this series will be ending soon. I could follow these characters forever!

Cammie had always thought that attending a spy school was a little fun. But now that Cammie is in constant danger from the threat of an ancient terrorist organization intent on bringing the Gallagher girls down, everything is different. Ramped up security measures at school seem to have taken the very spirit out of these proud buildings. There will be no more discovering secret passageways or sneaking out now that Cammie's life--and all those around her--are at stake. All that Cammie wants is the truth, but when you don't know who to trust, the truth is hard to come by. In the end, when all other options have been exhausted, will Cammie have to find all the answers on her own?

Only the Good Spy Young, the fourth and I hope not final installment in Carter's Gallagher Girls series is by far the best one yet. Like Don't Judge a Girl by Her Cover, this novel has much more spy danger than girly romance. Readers are thrust into a more sinister world of double agents and harsh betrayals as Cammie tries to navigate her worsening situation. Gone are the days of sneaking around town tailing unsuspecting boys, and even though some readers may miss them, most will enjoy this new turn of events even more. The plot and action are superbly written with many exciting twists and turns, and Cammie's character continues to grow realistically. Her fear over what will happen to her and her determination to find out the truth show her to be strong and brave. I was absolutely thrilled by Only the Good Spy Young and I cannot wait for the next book in the Gallagher Girl series.

Fans of earlier installments in the Gallagher Girl series will not want to miss this latest one, nor will those who enjoyed the Alex Rider series by Anthony Horowitz and Model Spy by Shannon Greenland.

Once again I found myself reading a book that was a series and I started on book number four. I liked, however, that I was able to catch up quickly as to what the premise of the story was and move forward with the characters.

In Only the Good Spy Young, Cammie is one of a select group of students who is enrolled in a school specifically to learn how to become a secret agent or spy. What Cammie is not aware of is that the danger for her would start her Junior year in High School when the "bad guys" discover she is the child of two agents. They believe she has information about the Circle (bad guys) that they don't want her to have. For this reason, she is in terrible danger and has body guards watching over her wherever she goes. Unfortunately somebody isn't doing their job to well, as when they are in London she is greeted by one member of the Circle - a former teacher. A man she trully respected and cared about. Now her whole take on the staff and other students has changed. She is unsure whom she can trust and who to watch out for.

Cammie's tale twists and turns into some unbelievable situations, but it is good reading. I would recommend the story to any young teens looking for a good read. I have yet to start the other books in the series, but I see them in my future.

This is my favorite Gallagher Girls book so far. It's obvious that Cammie has matured from the first book, which is both good and bad. Good that she's growing up and bad that she's gotten far more serious and spends more time fighting for her life then attempting to date a `normal' boy.

I like these books because the Gallagher Academy is like the Hogwarts for spies. Full of secret passageways, different traps, and a whole lot of secrets, the Academy just seems like a fun place to live in [when, you know, you're not fighting for your life].

Cammie and her friends are both funny and smart, each with their own set of strengths and weaknesses. I especially get a kick out of Liz-supergenius, but not so great when it comes to field work.

Only the Good Spy Young builds on what was left from Book 3, Don't Judge a Girl by Her Cover. The plot thickens as Cammie races to figure out what [and who] the Circle is and what exactly it wants with her.

Title: Only the Good Spy Young
Description (source): When Cammie Morgan enrolled at the Gallagher Academy, she knew she was preparing for the dangerous life of a spy. What she didn't know was that the serious, real-life danger would start during her junior year of high school. But that's exactly what happened two months ago when Cammie faced off against an ancient terrorist organization dead set on kidnapping her.

In this fourth installment of the New York Times best-selling series, the Gallagher Girls must hack, spy, steal, and lie their way to the truth.as they go searching for answers, recognizing that the key to Cammie's future may lie deep in the past. (product description)

Plot: This book is the fourth in a series, but that didn't mean that I was lost - it's a great standalone read as well (although I am now awaiting the next book in the series quite fiercely). The plot both advanced the overall series story line and had a self-contained episode, so there was a bit of closure, even with the cliffhanger ending.

Characters: All of the characters were well-written. Both main and secondary characters are believable, likeable (if they are supposed to be), and interesting. The love story is age-appropriate yet emotionally affecting.

Writing style: This was my first book by Ally Carter, and I have to say she is a whiz-bang writer. Funny, great at pacing, and keeps the tone just right throughout.

Audience: SLJ lists it as grades 6-10, and I'd say that's right on, although I really enjoyed it and would venture to say that adults picking up the book would like it if they gave it a chance. Genre-wise, it's mostly spy thriller, but with some romance, so girls would like it better than boys would. Also, the cover is pink.

Wrap-up: I didn't expect to like this book as much as I did, but it shows the difference between a true YA author (like Carter) and an adult author trying to write YA (like the Sherrilyn Kenyon novel Infinity that I just finished). I'm going to be waiting to see how the series finishes up! 4.5/5*

As always, Ally Carter delivers the action in her Gallagher Girl series. Only the Good Spy Young contains a great balance between the mental and the physical. We don't get to see much of Cammie's regular life, or life at the academy in general because the series-long mystery has sped up considerably.

Everyone is wrapped up in what's going on, as they should be. What is really going on though? How are things with Zach going to play out? Is Cammie really going to lose another important man in her life? Hasn't the poor girl been through enough already? Throughout Only the Good Spy Young much hinges on Cammie's father's past. Having to face that alone, without the added danger, could cause many to lose focus.

I loved the support from Cammie's mom and friends. I love how they understand that she can't always be sheltered and that it's gotten to the point where dangerous or not, she has to stand on her own. They can back her up, but they can't do it for her.

I'm not quite sold on the ending. It's leading us directly into the next book, but I'm rather wary of the places it may take the story. I didn't have the gushy love for this book as I've had for the rest of the series, but I definitely liked it and can't wait to get my hands on the next one.

The best Gallagher Girl book in the series. The fast pace and heart-stopping action with surprises around every corner will keep each of us Gallagher Girls at heart guessing until the very end of the series. In this installment, readers learn a great deal about Cameron and her cloudy past, but not her own. No, her parents' past, specifically: her father's. He came very close to taking down a dangerous organization that now want the answers that are in Cammi's brain. Zach's secrets ultimately ruin their relationship as his lips seal on the biggest secret that almost cost Cammi her freedom. I applaud Ms. Carter on her hard work and dedication to the series. It really shines through all the other spy stories out there.

The Gallagher Girls series is one of my favorites, so of course I was excited to read this one!

At Only the Good Spy Young, we already know Cammie is in danger. Her life is very controlled now, and things are changing not only at her school, but with her family and friends as well.

I loved this book. It was darker and serious than the previous, but it was perfect that way because Cammie is older and in a very dangerous position. I was very happy with her relationship with Zach, not only because they are very in love, but because finally Cammie learned about him, his finally and which side he is.

It's still a mystery for me why she's in danger, but I believe the next book will give me more information about that. I loved the spy missions, and the ending was really surprising and frustrating, and at the same time so exciting!

Overall, Only the Good Spy Young may be my favorite book from this series. As always, the author managed to surprise me and I can't wait for the next book!

When I first started reading the Gallagher Girls series sometime last year, I was a little iffy because the first book seemed a little young, even for me. I was SO WRONG. Once I got to the middle of the first book, I was drawn in by it, and I'm so glad I was, because that gave me the chance to read this book, Only the Good Spy Young. I love this book. I love the idea. I want to be a super secret girl spy who goes to a super secret girl academy and falls for super secret boy spies. Anyway, I thought this installment of the Gallagher Girls series was a great way to show how serious it was getting for Cammie compared to how the first book started, where there wasn't as many life-endangering situations and drama. I was super tense during all the action scenes and I just couldn't wait to find out the outcome. The ending reminded me a bit of the ending of one of the Harry Potter books, but only slightly. I can't wait for the next book in this series! Be sure to check out this book, and the series, and basically anything written by Ally Carter.

The characters all have amazing strength in them and are full of talents. I love how fun this series is to read, because I can relate to each one of the characters in a way. Zach is also very swoon worthy, and you get to learn more about him in this book. Only the Good Spy Young is full of action scenes and also lots of humor. The hilarious quotes and conversations make me love this series. There are so many random twists and turns in Only the Good Spy Young, which weren't as predictable as the other books. That you will be unsure of what will happen next. For each question that is answered, another question is put forth. Carter's books are one of kind and unlike anything that I have read. I can't wait for the next book that is in this series. I mean the cliffhangers in these books, kill me. For those of you, that haven't read the Gallagher Girl books, I suggest that you pick them up. They are fun books that have pieces of depth in them.

Gallagher girls series is absolutely AMAZING!! I'm a 15 year old girl in high school and I love reading! I'm usually into supernatural stuff or fantasy, but this series was so GOD DAMN GOOD!!! It was exhilarating all the way through. There were times when I literally almost jumped. There were times when I felt joy and despair. There were times when I laughed and cried in these books. I recommend this series to anyone who wants some drama, action and love. This series has it all. Starting from friendship, to family, and to boys...I'm very excited to read the last book though I still don't know when it's coming out. If you're into spy stuff and still haven't read this series, the question why are you alive? :)

The series here begins to get more plot and serious. a threat is now there for the gallagher girls and they must respond. One is in danger and they rally around and work in tandem to protect.

The serious is still fun and light while adding a serious note to it. Mr. solomon is now in trouble and the girls are not sure who to trust. Who can they talk to and who can they believe?

They still try to get out and break the rules while trying to find answers. Zach plays a role and the romance between him and Cammie is seen more.

Cammie must grow more in this book and all her training is needed to stay alive.

Another nice and entertaining read.

I was very excited to read this latest edition to the Gallagher Girl Books and it didn't disappoint! I was a little surprised that we learned early on who the traitor was, but honestly I think it was better that way. Because at least for me, just like the characters in the book, it kept me guessing to whether it was true or not. My only complaint is not enough Zach, although there can never be enough Zach. There is a good amount of Cammie and Zach toward the end, but it left me wanting more. And there are still all these unanswered questions about the Circle, Zach, Cammie's Dad etc!! We need another Gallagher Girl Book NOW!!!

Ally Carter did it again with another smash hit book. Why does it take her a year to write another smash hit about the Gallagher Girls-Four . Well, it's my guess that it takes a year to infiltrate the group and write about what they're up to, and their latest exploits. And it's no surprise that the Gallagher Girls-Four found another adventure to draw us into deep cover. It seems everyone, and his (hint) mother, is in the plot this time. And yet, our star Gallagher Girl, Cammie Morgan, survives another adventure, thanks to those who love and surround her. Its great to have family and friends as she does, and readers like us to protect her, if called upon. And as she said: RUN, RUN, RUN, sounds like a song. Well, maybe you'll want to think of the song: RUN BABY RUN, by the Newbeats, when reading the book, as I did. Wait! Shhh.. I think I hear somebody coming, I gotta go now....

This is an amazing series! The books have a really interesting setting (aka spy school) the writing is fabulous and the characters just seem so real! I think you can easily identify with the main character, Cammie, but many of her friends, like Macey or her aunt Abby, who appears later in the series, are brilliant as well. I can definitely recommend it!

Cammie Morgan is under constant surveillance, and is never ANYWHERE without being watched. After one of her most trusted allies becomes one of the most wanted men on Earth and slips through the clutches of her security detail after telling Cammie to "follow the pigeons," she returns to school and finds that many unpleasant changes have happened in the security detail there as well.
Cammie and her three best friends embark once more on an action-packed adventure, determined to find the truth, and set it free.
Okay, so I'll admit that I found the first eleven or so chapters of Only the Good Spy Young to be lacking, slow, and incredibly overstretched/lengthened to a boring extent. But after that, the pace started picking up and returning to the fast, gripping action that I've come to expect from The Gallagher Girls books.
The book is exciting and revealing, although:
a) The book has some very predictable occurances in it that happen way too slowly,
b) The book is too short(but in a good way),
and c) The characters all are blind, to a certain extent. Nobody knows enough, which is a factor in the draginness of the first eleven or so chapters. It's like Ally Carter is trying to advertise the fact that NOBODY KNOWS ANYTHING!!!!! (least of all, Cammie). It gets incredibly irritating after a while.
Therefore, my favorite book in the series is still 'Don't Judge a Girl By Her Cover'.
However, the book is still good. Aside from the first eleven or so chapters, you can really sense that one long story has been condensed into a small package so that, like dehydrated food, the essence and flavor of it is all that is left(although I don't like dehydrated food-- in fact, I've never even tried it before). There is no water left to make the story bland, and the story is quickly told without any unintended confusion.
Also, another great thing about this story is that the plot is moved forward by the characters, not the other way around. There is some major character development happening that helps to keep this story moving.
And, as always, the writing was smooth, and there weren't any awkward sentences leftover from incomplete revising and editing. Quality writing was obvious throughout the story, just like I've come to expect from Ally Carter.
Also as always, the humor is not lost. Funny metaphors and witty writing went into the story, bringing all of the characters to life(to say the least).
Another great thing about the book was that all of the characters were very, very believable, despite the fact that these are SPIES we are talking about, many of which were or are being trained at The Gallagher Academy for Exceptional Young Women(or, in Mr.Solomon and Zach's case, The Blackthorne Institute for Boys). There were no Gary-Stus or Mary-Sues lurking in the corners, and every character was unique and well developed. Also, no character was a weak cripple that couldn't do anything. Each character had a place in the story, and they were all reasonable with very humane fears and strengths bringing them to life.

Also, the story is beginning to resemble that of the Harry Potter books(mostly in plot), a series that I found intriguing and yet lacking in the extremes. That is one factor that went into my disappointment at this book.

As the series progresses, the books have been showing the change in Cammie; from when she was struggling because she had fallen in love with an unexceptional boy, to now, when it isn't only her heart but also her freedom, friends, and family at stake.

This book was spectular, the best GG book so far. From the very beginning, the book was full of surprising plot twists. Everytime I thought I knew what was coming next, Aly Carter surprised me. You get more Zach in this book, and a lot of suspense! The stakes get higher and higher in each book, so I have no idea what will happen to Cammie next.

The last thing I'll say is that the climax brings a lot of action, surprises, and from me, tears. I actually cried at the end of the book. More so, when I read one shocking bit of information about Zach, I actually said, "WHAT?!" out loud. That scene opens a whole flood of questions, and me wishing the next book was already out. I'll be reading this book again, and I hope you will enjoy it as much as I did!

i started reading the gg books in 7th grade cause it was what all my friends were reading. 3 yrs later i picked them up again and love them even more now than i did before!
Throughout the series we see cammie and her friends grow and mature as the plots become more and more intense. What started out as a series for giggly little girls has turned into a action packed, romantic, and addictive page turner. the books have grown progressively darker, i was on the edge of my seat speeding through this book to find out what happened.
i love the charactors in this book. cammie is a lot more independant and strong, and her friends are there for her every step of the way. we dig deeper into mr solomons past and learn his connection to the morgan family. and every girl deserves a boy like zach! hes perfect for cammie and they had several scenes in this book where i wanted to just blurt out "awwwwww[...]
love this book and you will too!

What a breathtaking 4th book to this amazing series! Ally Carter stuck to her promise...more excitement and more Zach! Though i won't give any spoilers, the way this book ends makes you think twice if Carter is gonna make a fifth book. Thats all I'm gonna say. But if you have stuck with Cammie in the past 3 books, you have to read Only The Good Spy Young!

I've been following the Gallagher Girls for while and I have to say that this has been one of the books best written in this series. Many questions are anwered and even more are created.
If you read this book, you will immediately get sucked into it. The characters grow and continue to surprise you. And you WLL be thrown for many loops as the surprises keep coming.
Needless to say, Ally Carter has done it again. This book will leave you hanging in anticipation that you will immediately get the next book!

I have stuck with Cammie Bex Liz Macey(which happens to be my name only spelled differently) and Zach ever scince the beginning and if I absolutly loved them then I cant even begin to describe this one!!!!!!! In my opion this is the best one with Cammie deciding to run away to keep her friends safe. I loved it more than humanly possible.
