Richard is honest and holds nothing back. Naming names is not something many authors do in famous circles. I was hooked from the first chapter I read and didn't want my journey with him to end. I remember hearing these songs on the radio first hand and wanting more. Sadly I was only in SoCal for a short time as a teen. If you get a chance, pick up this book. It's not just a summer read, it is so much more. So many things to remember about my teen years. Who knew.

I spent the weekend with Richard in England, and Sweden, and Spain, and California, looking at the world through his eyes.
Richard is a great storyteller, and while it's become a cliche to say "I laughed. I cried," in this instance, it's true.
This is a FANTASTIC book.
If music is important to you - if following your dreams is important to you - then buy this book, find a comfortable chair, and fall under Richard's spell.

Been looking forward to reading Richard Blade's autobiography and it didn't disappoint!! Chocked full of the best stories from his days as The DJ of KROQ and much more, he gives us an inside look at the world around groups such as Duran Duran, Depeche Mode and much more! He also provides a lot of reflection on his personal life. My only disappointment was that his story doesn't end and there will be a part 2!

From start to finish this book was a page turner. Richard Blade takes you on a trip around the world and back. Listening to him on the radio from KNAC to KROQ in the 80's was a huge part of my life. That was the soundtrack to my 20's. Remembering all the shows and clubs I had been to was the best part. I laughed and I cried right along with Richard. I just finished and and I am going to read it again. If you are a fan of the 80's, of KROQ, of the early club days and dance music this book is a MUST read!

A great trip down memory lane, Richards and mine! Growing up in Southern California listening to KROQ, I didn't know how different and cutting edge of was because it's all i knew. It was fun hearing about how it was all happening on the other side of the radio.

Richard Blade was right there for other childhood staples of mine such as MV3, Depeche Mode at the Rose Bowl, Square Pegs, and the US festival. Reading his first hand accounts bright me right back there. His relationship with Terri Nunn of Berlin is something I wasn't aware of and was quite compelling.
All in all, a very honest account of what made him who he is and what made music what it was to do many of us.

Great read, been looking to this book, what a wonderful full life Richard Blade has been living, so nice to be able to know that there are people who love what they do for a living and take pride in it as well, it definitely comes thru when I listen to him on Sirius every afternoon, love getting the backstory on the artist or group, would give it 5 stars, if there was just even a page or two about how he came to Sirius, to be continued

I bought a pre-ordered copy and Richard signed it at an event and I had to buy a kindle version for my ipad so I could take it with me everywhere. Richard has a wonderful talent and really draws the reader into his life. It is a very enjoyable book and I feel like I know him personally now. I am lucky to have met him several times at DJ events in Southern California.

Excellent Book--Richard gives us all the inside scoop of how New Wave Music became the rage of the 80s. I met him over 30 years ago, and he's still the same person. Richard is truly one of the good people in music. Treating everyone the same...From Regular people like me, to Huge Stars like Morrissey, Michael Jackson, Duran Duran, Depeche Mode, etc. If you grew up in L.A. in the 80s, or just love a good read--this book is for you.

I'm from Southern California and was a teenager during the 80's. KROQ radio and Richard Blade were were a big part of life then. I always tuned in to MV3 after school. Really enjoyed reading about Richard's interactions with some of my favorite bands.

I can’t put it down! Fascinating, real, and honest. You feel every emotion as you’re taken on a trip, around the world and back and you won’t have to do a thing, just sit there.❤️ Bonus points: hearing Richard Blade’s voice in my head as I’m reading it.

Great book! I looked forward to all the stories about the great bands from the 80's. While that met my expectations, it was the first half of the book about Richard and his personal life leading up to his fame that really put this book over the top.

I love this book! It was very interesting how much music can mold a person into becoming the best DJ ever! The book is written very well and makes you feel like you are taking the journey along with Richard.

My first the store review. My first review anywhere for that matter. But I couldn't continue my morning without chiming in. If you're thinking about getting this book, just get it. If you have any knowledge, interest, or relation to new wave music, if you have the faintest idea who Richard Blade is, you will love this story. I have very personal reasons for loving this book and it's hard to remain objective. So, don't let me bore you. Jimmy Kimmel's quote on the cover sums it up. You will devour every page. Took me 2 days to read, and only because I tried to stretch it out. You know a great book when you're kinda sad that you finished it. Can't wait for the movie. Thank you, Richard Blade!

I truly enjoyed this book. Richard Blade brought back some great memories of simpler times in my life. He was so intuitive as a boy and truly lived his dreams. A very inspiring story to go for what you want in life. Thank you for writing your story.

Blade’s hip and breezy DJ style translates similarly as an author. If you’re a fan of 80’s New Wave music; the music industry in general, or inspirational stories about achieving one’s career dreams and life goals, then you’ll want to check this out.

I loved Richard's autobiography! I purposely read only a few chapters at a time so the stories wouldn't end too soon. I highly recommend his life story to any 80s music lover. Looking forward to the sequel!

Loved it, loved the info of my favorite bands, felt horrible how Richard treated terry nunn, and was a bit surprised at his marriage to a much younger girl and that her parents were ok with it. Still enjoy his radio show and Swedish Eagles radio show.

Very interesting read, about a very interesting guy. Richard is a wealth of knowledge within the music industry, and after reading his book, I now see why. He's been just about everywhere and done just about everything, and he spins his tale in this "tell all", which is sure to leave you wanting more!
