The was a very interesting story involving Lord John. The beginning was great and the characters very interesting. Love his man servant, Tom. There is so much heartache in this time period and Diana is quick to point them out.

I enjoyed reading this book written by my favorite author, Diana Gabaldon, but not quite as much as the books of the Outlander series. I will, however, continue to read all of the Lord John books to keep me busy while waiting for the next Outlander novel.

This is a short story for Ms. Gabaldon. However, it is a novel that explores more fully Lord John, a character in Outlander series. It is the 3rd in its own series. A good read for me. It was hard to put down.
My Sweet Audrina :: My Sweet Audrina by V.C. Andrews (2011-05-24) :: The bestselling psychological thriller with a shocking ending :: A compulsively twisty psychological thriller that will keep you gripped to the very last page :: Lord John and the Private Matter - A Novel (Lord John Grey)

Any reader who enjoys Diana Gabaldon's "Outlander" series will enjoy the Lord John books, including "Hand of Devils". Lord John Grey's perspective on events around him and in which he's involved - in late-1700 England and the Continent -is unique in some ways, typical of someone of his rank and position in society in other ways. A soldier, an intellectual, and a passionate man, he is an interesting and sympathetic character, and these three stories which skirt around or plunge right into the supernatural are fun and quick reads.

I read "Brotherhood" first and was very disappointed. I found The Hand of Devils easier to read, maybe because they are short stories. But still, this is a serious distraction from what true fans are waiting for: the final chapters of the Outlander series.
