I was introduced to this book in a class provided by the company I work for. The class was entitled "Thinking Outside the Box". This class has been attended by executives and managers at large corporations the world over. I'm sure no one in the class expected the last activity to be reading "Hope for the Flowers" aloud. Although this is a "children's" book, it can be appreciated at many levels. I'm sure children will find it very entertaining and moving. However, the specific message relevant to adults is that "following the crowd" in the corporate world can be an empty pursuit, and that we all need to recognize the possibility of reaching for higher goals. The story is engaging, with two charming caterpillars as the main characters, and the beautiful illustrations of them and their exploits are very imaginative. We should all aspire to be butterflies!

This book is something which can speak to people in all the many stages of life. It guides you through the lives of two small creatures as they discover their respective places in the universe at large. Bonus: the illustrations are fantastic.

On a more personal note- this book has taken its place in my very exclusive collection of books which I keep throughout life. It will likely be enormously helpful to my children as they grow, and may provide me an entirely new learning experience when I reread it to them.

I loved this sweet little book. I read it through & started to read it again last night. I could apply much of the story to Godly life principles. As you are reading ponder on what really it is saying. I liked Yellow because she knew there was something more in life than getting to the top while climbing over others.

My friends will always remember this book and the person who gave it to them. It was just right for them, and for me to be giving, as I retired from a high pressure profession and began learning to live.

This book contains a very sweet and rather deep story that everyone should read! I got this as a gift several years ago and was moved to buy a copy for a friend later on. The illustrations are very simple and darling. If you are looking for a simply written and illustrated book with a deep meaning than this is definitely the one you will like! There are no overwhelming extras here... just the heart! Thank you for this sweet book!

This book. Without a doubt. Changed my outlook on life as I know it. At 28 I am still struggling with some decisions I've made for a life I thought I wanted. A year ago I was really hurting and started regretting every decision I made after high school. After reading this book I realized that it didn't matter what path I took. You'll always learn more about yourself and what you want out of this world, by simply being yourself and not giving into compromise.

This is a wonderful book...I read this years ago...and just recently bought it for my son - He was debating getting out his career that he wasn't completely loving -but was afraid to make that move-especially in this rocky financial time - he kept thinking that you never know what might be at the top of that financial promise in that job....but after reading this book, he had the heart and courage to do what his heart - and dreams - told him to do...Love love love this book - crosses all careers and goes right to the heart of who you are - and/or who you really want to be.

I had a friend recommend this book and she wouldn't say what it was really about - only laughed & said I'd have to check it out myself. Well, that I did, and it left a handprint on my heart. What a sweet and wonderful story that is now forever in my brian to be reflected upon when need be... I think you would like it to.

I absolutely love this book. I have purchased several copies of this book and give it often. Written as a children's book, yet speaks to adults in a way we can understand. It is usually the book I give before I give Illusions, by Richard Bach. It is a loving, warm way to open someones heart and mind to the possibilities in life and to see the greatness in others.

This is one of those little books that can change lives. I was given one thirty five years ago and it helped me make the transition from business where I was successful to teaching where I was fulfilled. I sent this to a young friend to give her something to think about.

I ordered this book on the recommendation of a teacher of mine. I realized it was a children's book before ordering it and after reading it knew that it applies to all ages. It was a heartwarming story with a definite moral that any of us could use. I recommend it to anyone, no matter how old. I'm 65, semi-retired, still learning about life and seeking more.

My child loves it so much ,we only readn1 chapter each night along with other books She likes just 1 chapter each night so thestory last a long time. She can recall the story ironically. Her Daddy read it to her every evening while she was in utero.
Such a sweet story! She has a great Daddy

If you are here, reading this, it means somebody must have told you about this book. They did you a favor, and you should thank them.
Are you troubled by the notion that there must be more to life than what you're experiencing? Not interested in joining a cult or in taking Prozac for the rest of your life?
Two dear friends named Christy and Sherri introduced me to this book when I was 20. Now, fifteen years later, I know they were trying to intervene in what was shaping up to be a disastrous life for me. I wasn't evolved enough to understand them or this book then, but I understand now. This book is a potent starting place for your own personal revolution into a much more joyful, loving place than you have ever been before.
Do you feel like you live in a world that has every material thing to offer, but offers no place just for you? Do you wonder where most or all of your real friends went, and why you can't seem to make new ones? When the alarm goes off in the morning, are you putting your feet on the floor for any other reason than just to pay the bills?
If this sounds like your life, (it was mine for quite awhile), do yourself a favor and buy this book. Sleep with it under your pillow, and read it every morning before you start your day, even if it means setting your alarm 15 minutes earlier. Read it until you have it memorized, then move on to Richard Bach's "Jonathan Livingston Seagull," and from there to wherever you want to go. The path to a joyful and loving and sharing life is walked one step at a time, and "Hope for the Flowers" is as good a first step as any.

A book for ALL ages. The drawings and handwritten words are whimsical.
This story has a cute lesson to teach.

I bought mine as a used hardcover and it didn't come with the book sleeve and not to mention the lovely custom pencil drawing by some child named Sam right on the cover. I'm going to doodle over it......

Even my teenage son appreciated & enjoyed this book. It is entertaining and packs a world of thought provoking ideas in its short and very pleasant story with pictures that are as expressive as what the words are conveying.

This is a great story with great illustrations. It works as a story for adults and for children. While the message might seem a bit too didactic for some, I like that the story has several chapters or parts.
