This novel is not for everyone. I enjoyed reading it but some of the subject matter might be offensive for people with wives and kids. Some times I think crime novelist must cull through the case files to garner ideas for their books. All in all this is an average read.

I love everything Sandford writes. Would love to get inside his brain! Such plots! You never know what will happen next. I don't really know who is the best, Sandford or the characters he creates.

Sandford began hitting his stride in this Lucas Davenport novel.
The characters are well-defined. Story is solid, with plenty of action.

Recommended for late-starting John Sandford readers. Can't find a new book to read? Look back!

John Sandford always satisfies. I try to read all the books I can that he writes. He has the Virgil Flowers series as well, and they interconnect with Lucas Davenport, which enhances their appeal. Good book

I have read several of the Lucas Davenport series and enjoyed all of them. However, the first one I read was "Naked Prey" and I set it aside for several months after I started it because I thought it was too graphic. Now I like all of them very much and I especially enjoy the ones where Lucas has settled down with Weather. "Mind Prey" was compelling and had sort of a surprise at the end.
