365 Greek Word Studies For Every Day Of The Year To Sharpen Your Understanding Of God's Word

Everyone needs this "Sparkling Gem" to read in their daily devotions. I not only bought mine, I bought two more for my Sister and Niece and they are really enjoying the read and learning opportunities!

I was using Charles Stanley's devotional for two years because I could not find anyhing comparable, until now. Renner does an outstanding job of making the most out of my morning prayer time and also keeps me on track regarding my own personal growth. This is definitely a must read for those who are looking to increase their sensitivity to the Holy Spirit, and those who have a sincere desire to grow into the fullness of their God given purpose.

Fantastic daily devotional. Not a quickie! Very in-depth analysis of scriptures. Lots of Greek definitions that add to your understanding of what the Bible really means. Thoroughly enjoying this on a day to day basis. Very easy to read and use. Lots of extras too!

For the most part, Rick Renner's elucidation of a deeper meaning through the analysis of greek word roots is helpful and can illuminate many of his reader's path of faith. Occasionally Renner falls into a bibliolatry trap when he tries to tell you what Jesus really meant to say via the greek word root tool that is so helpful in the epistles.
There is a translation gap when any document is rendered from one language into another. That is what makes this volume so valuable to the Christian lay reader when Renner writes about passages originally written in Koine Greek, like the epistles.
Since Jesus actually conveyed his thoughts and teachings in Aramaic to his disciples and the public at large there is a double translation gap that Renner needs to address for this tome to recieve 5 stars. Work on the Aramic idioms used in the Gospel accounts, as has been done by George Lamsa, added to the best expression the Gospel writers could convey later in Greek, would make this a a true "Sparkling Gem". I hope to see this in later editions.

This is a thought provoking and insightful read, adding a new dimension to my bible study; especially where he brings the perspective of the historical meaning of some of the Hebrew and Greek words and phrases.

Highly knowledgeable in his study of the Word. Rick is passionate about the Lord and wants to help others understand the depth, height and width of Y'shua's love. A must for in-depth study and understanding of God's Word.

I received my copy of Sparkling Gems with a purchase I made from Joyce Meyer Ministries and I am so glad that I did. Reading the daily devotionals has been a huge blessing to me. By putting the Greek definitions into terms that I can understand it has helped bring much more meaning to my Bible reading. I love it so much I bought three more copies as Christmas gifts this year.

The best devotional that I have found. It has added so much value to my daily Word Life. Rick Renner really brings the Word of God alive by his depth of knowledge in the Greek but making it so simple to understand. This book is a great gift if you are desiring to INVEST in to another or yourself.

This book...set up in 365 daily readings...is wonderful! I am only a few days in, but already I have been challenged deeply in my walk with God. The author does an amazing job at giving the original Greek meaning and helping me to understand what the scripture verse or passage means. I highly recommend this book. It is probably the best devotional I have read so far.

The author is gifted in his ability to translate the Greek and Hebrew language to understanding of the bible. It makes my daily reading of the bible exciting. I recommend it for anyone who wants to grow spiritually.

This is more than a devotional! Rick Renner clearly shows in everyday English what the Greek words mean and how they are used at the time they were written as they are involved in each daily theme. He also shows the application intended by the writer and all shows you how to apply it to yourself.

This book is indeed filled with "sparkling gems from the Greek". If you aspire to be a true Berean, I believe that you will find this book delightful. It is a handy resource for daily devotions and for preparation to teach New Testament Bible studies and/or sermons. I have given several copies as gifts to friends and consider this book to be an indispensable addition to my personal library. I am pleased to find it available on Kindle.

This is a unique book which seems very inspired. I often read a day's devotion that is just what I need to read that day! The author unpacks the Greek as it was used in the culture of the day which gives a new depth of meaning to familiar Scripture passages. I have given several copies as gifts and often find myself sharing his insights with friends and family. I highly recommend this book.

This book has two great purposes:

1- Excellent and deep daily devotional! Will draw you closer to Jesus.

2- Great teaching reference for ministers. Great book to build messages and or a great reference book.

A trusted friend recomended this book to me, so I purchased it. Once I opened the book and started pouring through the pages, I too was delighted.
The way that Rick Renner writes is so easy to understand, and thought provoking. He gives every day of the year a simple, yet deep study that is always relevant to our lives.

I got tired of touchy, feely devotionals, and Renner's is in a class by itself. His obvious expertise in Biblical Greek makes a read that is both educational and edifying. Both my wife and I use this as a great resource. Highly recommend if you are ready to step up to the next level.

This is written more as a large daily devotional than a word study book like Strong's Concordance or Vine's Expository Dictionary. Helpful enough to get one view on interpreting the Greek words chosen, as it's coming from a more charismatic perspective.

This is a wonderfull book that is a devotional book & it really gives you a better understanding of scripture by making the reader aware of the meaning of Greek words. Wish I had had this book 10 years ago ! It was a new book & was received in just a few days.

This is one of my favorite devotional book. It gives excellent down to earth Greek meanings and application of passages. You have 365 devotion as with applications and reflection. Very well written. I have read through it twice!

This book is exactly what our group was needing. It is speaking to exactly what is going on in our lives and growing us closer to God. High School girls and ladies are a part of out group. It is a beautiful book especially on the inside. :)

I purchase this electronic version of Sparkling Gems from the Greek, but I have not use it as of yet, because I thought I was getting the book instead. Nevertheless, I love the information that is within the book and it is enriching. I would highly recommend this purcahse to those who want to acquire a deeper understanding and knowledge of God and His plan for their lives. This book was mentioned to me by a person who walks in relations with God and believe that I would be truly blessed by it. I have only read a couple of the devotions, but I must slow down long enough to go back and really dig deeper for revelation impartation. God bless all who decides to purchase this item.

Finally, a book that opens up the scripture to me as none other has! Rick Renner has a thorough knowledge of the Greek translations and writes devotionals anyone can understand. I have been so excited about reading this book! I even bought my pastor one!

Rick Renner is quite the Greek scholar. It was so interesting to learn more about what was said with the Greek translation. I've only read the last half of the book, because it's a daily devotional and I just bought it in July. If you want to get deeper in God's word, this is the book for you.

pros: great daily devotion. Lots of revelation from the Greek perspective. Rick does a great in-depth study of the new testament.
cons: I don't see a lot of the grace message though.

This book appeals to me because the author has done the research to embellish his scripture choices which evidence insight and time consuming effort. It's a short cut to deeper understanding of God's word encouraging worship and devotion. I'm making it a part of my daily devotions, which after 42 years of Bible study and teaching is not a light matter for me.

A well written daily devotional. One of the best I have used. He provides great thought provoking insight into each daily scripture passage. I look forward to the daily reading which helps me focus and stay in touch with God's word. I love Rick Renner's down to earth applicable explanations. His prayer and confession at the end are a joy and comfort.

This book offers information that can change your life for the better if you will let it. There is a chapter for every day of the year. I am on my second time thru it and will probably never put it down.
