Both characters have been in multiple stories and have connections over several books. Cordy has been crushing on Aiden since the Murder List. Aiden has been in and out of several books since talking poker games with the hero's. It was worth the wait.

Love Julie Garwood - she is probaby my favorite author overall and this was a book I was waiting for on these characters.
After reading Murder List and Fire and Ice a few years ago I was really hoping that she would come out with a book for Aiden and Cordelia. It was worth the wait. She doesn't disappoint. Great book.

I love this author!! Every book she writes is absolutely fabulous! I also like to read the stories for her connecting characters and this book was a great one! Finally, this read on Cordie was as well written as the rest!
Shadow Dance: A Novel (Buchanan-Renard) :: Highlander's Ransom (The Sinclair Brothers Trilogy :: The Secret (Highlands' Lairds Book 1) :: Come the Spring (Claybornes' Brides (Rose Hill) Book 5) :: As You Wish (A Summerhouse Novel)

Julie Garwood is one of my favorite authors, but this book will definitely not be a favorite of mine. Fast Track was a luke worm read at best, i actually stopped reading it when i was 57% into it in order to pick something else up to read. It did get better when i wished reading it a couple days later but still i felt the two main characters had no real connection, and the action was slow in this book which is not the norm for a Julie Garwood book. With Garwood you are not going to get the HEA but you ususlly get a sweetness and an apparent connection, you know the characters love and are attracted to each other through their interactions and i did not see that in this book. The plot usually makes up for the lack of heat for me with this author but it dragged a bit, but like i said the plot did get better in the end. I have been a Garwood fan for twenty years now and i usually lover her character and books and usually read them multiple times but i seriously doubt i will be rereading this one anytime soon, this was actually a hart review to post, but it is the truth.

Fast Track is a modern day romantic suspense with frequent sex by Julie Garwood. Cordelia Kane has always been a daddy's girl—her father raised her alone after her mother died in a car crash when Cordelia was just two years old. So when he has a serious heart attack, Cordelia is devastated, and the emotion is only intensified by the confusion she feels when he reveals the shocking truth about her mother. Cordelia can't suppress her curiosity about the woman who gave birth to her, and when she discovers the answers to her questions lie in Sydney, Australia, she travels there to get them. Hotel magnate Aiden Madison is Cordelia's best friend's older brother. He's oblivious to the fact that she's had a crush on him for years. When he gets railroaded into taking her along to Sydney on his company jet, he unknowingly puts her life at risk. Cordelia’s mother’s family has secrets the world doesn’t need to know and this puts Cordelia’s life in jeopardy. Also Aiden recently angered a powerful congressman by refusing to purchase overvalued land. Congressman Chambers is not a man to let such an offense slide, and he has the resources to get even and to get what he wants. In Australia sparks are flying between Cordelia and Aiden, but multiple attempts on Cordelia’s life and he realizes he must put a stop to the madness before he loses the thing he values most. You’ll first meet Cordelia in “Murder List” with Regan Madison and again in “Fire and Ice” with her other best friend, Sophie Rose. I’ve waited for months for this book to come out and got it on Kindle immediately.

Usually if Ms. Garwood writes it, I really like it. This book was okay. It lacked her usual character development. I liked that she added Regan and Alec (and Jack and Sophie) because the continuity added to the story.

Again Garwood has written great mystery. Twist and turns with a dash of sex. Lots of fun. Recommend this be added to Garwood collection. Three friends standing together with the ones they love against murderers.

Very disappointed!! Until this book, I have enjoyed and looked forward to Julie Garwood's books. She was one of the few authors that seemed to deliver on good characters, good plot and romance in a well written style. I found the style of this book to be sloppy and choppy. The characters had absolutely no depth. I will not pay for another book and will read her books with caution from now on.

Cordies love story was well written and intriguing She thought Aiden hadn't noticed her but he finally did and protected her when her grandfather tried to have her killed. The mysteries were solved and they got married to live happily ever after.

The last of the three girls story. Regan in Murder List, Sophie in Fire and Ice. Now Cordelia in this Fast Track. Very good read and made me want to go back and reread the other two books, which I did. Julie is one of my favorite authors.

Great story line, development of characters. Love Regan, Sophie, Alec, Jack and the whole family were all mentioned in the story and not just in passing but were included as continued story line. Great twists, turns and suspense.

Another favorite of mine, who will always leave me wanting more. She manages to bring the right combination of mystery and romance to anything she writes, and her characters (the "good" ones) are ones I'd like to meet. I am always happy to see her next books can be pre-ordered, because it gives me something to look forward to. As in all previous books, this story was a treat to read, and I hated to see it end.

Love this series of Julie Garwood's. The FBI agents and all the interaction with the different families make this series great. When you finish the book you always want more and Julie does not disappoint. I can't wait for the next Buchanan book.

As always, Julie Garwood delivers again! I always have trouble putting down any one of her stories and this book was no different. I liked the storyline and the sub-story was a nice addition as well. Now I'm wanting to read Walker's story!

I've been reading Julie Garwood for years. Some stories I like; some not so much. This is one I really enjoyed. I cried when Cordie's dad died, and I cheered when her mom got her comeuppance! This is a story that has been years in the making, and I'm so glad it is finally here!

Another great thriller by Julie Garwood, in book 12 of the Buchanan/Renard/MacKenna Series. Filled with total suspense, a chilling mystery, utter betrayal, and a hot-blooded romance, this is one book you won't want to miss. Although it is a series, each book can be read as a stand alone with no cliffhangers............After discovering a secret from her father's own dying lips, Cordelia "Cordie" Kane was still having a hard time accepting the truth. Her mother was alive? Since she was a young child, she was always told that her mother had died, but the sad and simple truth was she had run off, leaving her father to raise her, who Cordie loved more than life itself. What made it even worse, was her dad never stopped loving her mother, and as hindsights go, it kind of reminded her of her own sad dilemma. She had been in love with her best friend's older brother, Aiden Madison for years and not once, did he ever give her a second glance, so for that reason, and that reason only, she was going to try and get Aiden out of her heart once and for all. After going through her dad's old boxes, she found what she was looking for and with the help of law enforcement friends, she knew what she had to do in order to find the answers to her nagging questions and her journey would begin in Sydney, Australia. CEO of Hamilton Hotels, Aiden Hamilton Madison, couldn't believe that Cordelia's father had died, nor did he hesitate to rush to her side, but when he did see her, he was more in shock than anything else. He always knew his sister's best friend had a school girl crush on him but the little girl was now a breathtaking woman, a thought that not only pleased him but terrified him to the bone. However, when Aiden hears all about Cordie's plans and where she's going and why, he doesn't hesitate to take her on his company jet, where he can accompany her, while keeping his eyes on her as well. Conflicted and angry, Cordie allows her mother to see her but after the scene is over, she realized by opening Pandora's Box, she only brought danger with her when she returned to the States. When her life is threatened, Aiden won't take no for an answer and Cordie finds herself safely tucked away in his penthouse but with all her protests, her fantasies come true just knowing he's nearby. Always living his life like a fast track by not slowing down, and never showing his true emotions, Aiden couldn't deny his desire for Cordie or how he felt about her and before he knew it, the two of them were embarking in a passionate love affair and if he ever expected to keep her safe, he was more than willing to keep her by his side at all costs regardless what she said. When two more attempts are made on Cordie's life, the past comes back to haunt everyone involved while a ruthless and deadly killer plans his next move before the night is over!........thank you.....♡♡

The story of Cordelia (Cordie), a popular high school chemistry teacher, and resort developer Aiden Madison was good. Cordie was raised by a loving father who led her believe her mother had died in a car accident when she was just a baby. While he lay dying, he revealed the truth, her mother had abandoned them both and was alive and well elsewhere. After the funeral, Cordie tells her friends the bombshell. Her friends include two FBI agents offer to locate the woman.
Aiden is the one man she has had a crush on since she was in grade school, but she has decided to move on by moving back east. Unfortunately events put those plans on hold when her mother freaks out when she see Cordie and orders her bodyguards to kill Cordie in order to preserve her reputation An attempt on her life means Cordie is ensconced in Aiden's apartment. But are they safe from each other? They give into their feelings for each other. The bodyguards are eventually caught after further attempts are made. The guilty parties in
Australia are also dealt with in a satisfactory manner. Our two friends finally admit their true feelings and have their happy ending.
The only thing I didn't like was a large number of supporting characters that I was getting confused of who was who and what they were doing. Other than that it was good and other readers of Julie Garwood should enjoy it as would newcomers to her books.

I always enjoy Julie Garwood's books, both contemporary and historical. This is a good and enjoyable read. Her characters are always interesting, and I'll be watching out for Liam's story.
I definitely recommend this for any other Garwood fans and as an introduction to anyone who hasn't read her yet.

Read most of series Buchanan/Rebate/MacKenna. They were great romance novel, loved everyone of them. Garwood mixes thrillers and romance and everything works well together.I just love ever book she has written.

I used to love Garwood's writing. But lately, her books seem to read like cardboard. There is no spark, no sexy repartee, no humor. The narrative is like a monologue. I loved "Mercy," and still re-read it...so funny and memorable. So, I was looking forward to Noah' story (Shadow Dancer"), as a follow-up, ut it was blah and stiff...it could have been so much more than it was. Since then, I haven't noticed any improvement.

Didn't have the zing of her previous related stories. Also had a problem with Cordelia starting out as a professional independent women who morphs into a whining women in love. Just didn't feel the tension of love. First time a gar wood disappointed.

I loved this book! I enjoy stories that involve the FBI, corporate magnets, and other mysterious characters, and villains both male and female! I have read and enjoyed all of Julie Garwood's books! It is easy reading and have a little bit of everything! Her female characters are intelligent and have professions! And face and overcome their obstacles!
