The world has changed. Bree is a follower of the shifters and their story. She was headed home from the bar, when Seamus jumped in her truck and said GO! Seamus was running from some hunters, and she helped him escape. They were attracted to each other almost immediately. Bree is a feisty, strong giving person. Her Mom, Nadine, is one tough cookie, and has her shotgun ready when trouble follows them to her house. There is a lot going on and we don't know who the good guys are right away. Seamus was afraid he was turning "feral", but that feeling all goes away when he's near Bree. She is his mate !! The characters are deep feeling, and thought filled. The plot is steady and interesting, with twists and turns. Their attraction and anticipation are super and the sex is hot. This is a series called Shifters Unbound, but it could be a stand alone. It is in an anthology "Dark and Damaged". Highly recommend. ENJOY !!!

NOTE: Lion Eyes debuted in the boxed set DARK AND DAMAGED (June 12, 2015) and was released on its’ own July 7, 2015.

REVIEW: LION EYES is the latest novella in Jennifer Ashley’s adult SHIFTERS UNBOUND paranormal romance series. This is lion shifter Seamus McGuire, and shifter groupie Bree Fayette’s storyline. All of Jennifer’s Shifter Unbound storylines can be read as stand alones but for cohesion and backstory, I highly recommend reading the series in order as many characters and premises cross over between novels. Jennifer always gives the reader a hint as to what is to come including an introduction to new characters and potential new storylines.

BACKGROUND: Jennifer Ashley’s shifters are persecuted and discriminated against by the humans but the humans have help in their attempts to bring the shifters under control using magic-infused collars and segregated towns. The Shifter history reveals that the Fae created the Shifters but in doing so left a little bit of magic behind.

Told from dual third person perspectives LION EYES follows the hunt for a killer. When two humans are found ripped apart, a feral shifter is suspected of the killing. Enter Seamus McGuire, an uncollared and rogue lion shifter who doesn’t recall the events leading up to the murder; but a bloodied and wounded Seamus soon takes refuge with Shifter groupie Bree Fayette and the mating frenzy begins to take hold. With Seamus the number one suspect, the trackers from the Austin Shiftertown go on the hunt for the shifter they believe is responsible for the attack.

The relationship and mating between Bree and Seamus is quick to develop but, in defense, the Shifter male knows when he has met his mate and, in this, Seamus tries to hold himself back knowing that to mate with Bree would put her in danger as Seamus is potentially a wanted man. The $ex scenes are limited, intimate and seductive.

Many of the previous storyline characters play secondary and supporting roles throughout the novella for a familiar and cohesive blend between storyline installments-the inclusion allows for another glimpse into the lives of the couples, the children and the shifters we have come to love.

The world building continues to focus on the Shiftertowns, the persecution of shifters, and their history: from collaring, Fae magic, and The Guardians who keep peace within the species.

Jennifer Ashley writes a fascinating, entertaining and engaging paranormal series with a blend of several different shifter species who, in order to get along, must exist side by side and together, along with the humans who are determined to keep them under control.

** Read as part of the Dark and Damaged: Eight Tortured Heroes of Paranormal Romance **

~ 5 Lion Eyes Stars ~

Lion Eyes is part of the Dark and Damaged: Eight Tortured Heroes of Paranormal Romance Box Set and is set in Jennifer Ashley’s Shifters Unbound series. I love that her novellas can be read out of order (standalone) and give you a great taste of her writing and Shifters Unbound series.

This is a quick read. The relationship moves fast, but when a shifter finds his/her mate, that is how it goes. All the characters are great and entertaining. I like the human shifter hook ups the best in this series. I also enjoyed returning to the Austin shifters and seeing what is happening in their world.

I loved Lion Eyes and if you enjoy reading about shifters, then you should pick up Jennifer Ashley. I highly recommend her Shifters Unbound series. It’s one, especially the novellas, that I read over and over again.

This book features Seamus an uncollered shifter who is a tracker for a group of shifters that were "discovered" in the last book. He is on the run from shifter hunters when he jumps into Bree's truck to escape. Bree is a shifter groupie who is leaving a shifter bar. Bree ends up helping Seamus escape the hunters and takes him to her house. Seamus and Bree are very attracted to each other and it isn't long before Seamus starts to think Bree is his mate. Dylan and several shifters from their shifter town are tracking a feral shifter and end up at Bree's trying to figure out if Seamus is the feral shifter. I really enjoyed this book in the series. I liked both Seamus and Bree and loved seeing most of the characters from the series pop up in this story. There is a bit of a mystery, a lot of action and of course the romance. There is insta love and everything happens within 2 days but somehow it seems believable.

Quick little story about the working of how uncollared shifter can stay sane and not go feral. This new man Seamus is in hiding since his group of non collared shifters is one the run after Dylan did something he their leader Kendrick. Seamus ran into a bit of a problem and now is more danger with hunters after him literary jumps into a truck with his future mate is in. Now can he heal and try not to get to attached to Brew before he puts her into his life of running and hiding or will his distant cousins The Morrissey help him with his mate and a bear cub he rescued become an extended park of Siftertown and help them remove collars once and for all.

Another great addition to the Shifter Unbound series. Like another reviewer said it was a bit rushed, but still very good. Some things were left unfinished, but maybe they'll be tied up in another book.

This book is part of Jennifer Ashley's Shifters Unbound series which I love. In "Lion Eyes" we first meet Seamus who comes to and finds himself standing over two humans who have been killed. He fears he's going feral because he doesn't remember what happened. Hunters spot him so he runs thinking he'll steal a vehicle from the shifter bar that he sees. However, he winds up jumping into a pickup that is driving away from the bar which is how he meets Bree. Seamus in one of the uncollared shifters and has others whom he's trying to protect. Bree decides to help him. Soon the Austin Shifter Town leaders become involved as they work to solve the mystery of the murder as well as the mystery of Seamus' emotions. Bree is sure that Seamus is not going feral and that he didn't kill the humans. This story draws you in and keeps you interested throughout. I found myself cheering for Seamus and loving that he found his mate in Bree. The connection between Bree and Seamus is wonderful. I highly recommend this book.

Seamus McGuire an un-collared shifter found himself being hunted by humans and shifters for something he didn't remember doing. All he wanted was to find a place to hide until he figured things out.

In came Bree Fayette into the picture, a woman who was just looking for a nice night out to meet people who shared her interest in shifters.....Only for her to get rebuffed by some of the female shifters at a local roadhouse.

Seamus and Bree collide and from there on, they find themselves on this venture....As they get tho know each other, they realize that they were meant to meet.

Lion Eyes was a fun novella, I liked Seamus and Bree but the one that had me smiling was Bree's mother, Nadine......the latter was a firecracker.

My first time reading one of Jennifer Ashley's book and it was a pleasure...Marvelous job.

LION EYES book 13 in Jennifer Ashley's SHIFTERS UNBOUND series. This was Seamus and Bree's story and ties into the breakup of the group of shifters without collars in the BEAR ATTRACTION book. Again I enjoyed this book and almost hate to finish the series. MATE BOND is the next book and brings in North Carolina shifters.
