This is a great, sexy series. Ione continues with the fourth Sem brother introduced in the last book, Lore. Lore is a reluctant assassin who is in it to protect the one he loves, a sister. Unfortunately, Lore is stuck looking like the bad guy with his newly found brothers. Things only get worse when Lore is hired to kill someone that will only get him further in trouble with the very ones he is trying to befriend. Don't worry, there's a soon-to-be angel just waiting to put him in his place.

This series is fast-paced with rounded and easily liked characters. Very sexy scenes, too. Ione brings back past characters but doesn't over do it and bore the reader. Although this book could stand alone, I would recommend reading the books in order simply because it would make the story more enjoyable. I look forward to the next one.

Lore is caught it a great dilemma he is ordered to kill Kynan, if he fails the punishment will result in his sisters head. If he succeeds the result would be apocalyptic. Not only would it bring about the end of the world , but he will lose the brothers he just found. He doesn't feel he need them in his life but deep down he wants them to accept him and his sister who wants nothing to do with them. She doesn't even want them to know of her existence. So if the end of the world and his brothers hatred is not enough punishment a angle has been sent to protect Kynan from harm. He should just kill him and be done with it but he is drawn to her and finds out that if he kills Kynan she can never get her wings. He doesn't want to to that to her but the selfish part of him wants to do it just to keep her here on earth with him.

Ugh is going crazy the whole hospital including the brothers are feeling the tension and anger and its effecting them all , if that's not bad enough a old enemy is hell bent on seeking revenge at any and all cost and has teamed up with some one who also has a grudge to settle with Kynan's guardian Angle. its not looking good for Kynan lore or the brothers. How will they fight a unknown evil attacking them or will they just blame Lore and off him before he can kill Kynan? Will lore chose his sister or the world? this is a must read book!!!!!

I loved it i couldn't put it down. My favorite book is of course wraiths but i think this was a very close second. Lore was great i think him and sin fit in very well with the brothers. I didn't not like shades attitude though the whole book but i guess there is a reason behind it so that excuses it but hes still being a jerk.. (sorry Chas) I did see the twist coming before it got there but it was a good twist. I don't want to give much away but this was a very action packed exciting book. I loved the introduction of Con he is hot! Very in charge nonsense kind of guy.. Which makes me very excited for the next book.

Lore is a seminus half-breed demon and assassin. He kills with no remorse. That is why he is good at his job. There is just one problem. Lore has attacks where if he goes too long without sex than he could die.

Idess is an angel. She watches over and protects humans. Her latest human is wanted by Lore. Lore's master has sent him to kill the human. Idea will do anything to protect the human, every if it means giving up her vow for chastity.

Ecstasy Unveiled is the latest Demonica novel in this series. I have only read book two and four so far but I have enjoyed both books a lot. This is one urban fantasy series that readers need to discover if they haven't already. The men are hot and the women are strong and sexy. The concept of good versus evil portrayed in this was with Lore being a demon and Idess an angel was good. I hope to see Lore and Idess again sometime. I like that I have something other to read in this genre than vampires. Not to say that there is anything wrong with vampire stories but they can get old quick. I am slowly becoming a fan of demons. Thanks to authors like Larissa Ione.

As always, Larissa Ione ensnared me from word one. I loved Lore in this book, was annoyed with Sin, was intrigued by Idess and wanted to smack Shade. Oh and Wraith cracked me up as usual. Love this series!

The stories in Demonica series gets only better and better. The world more intricate and Ecstasy Unveiled is as dangerous and hot as it could get.

Idess and Lore are well matched and unforgettable. Lovable multifaceted characters who only make the romance more captivating and intense. Besides the romance, the plot is also one to take a reader for a ride.

The world building is nicely integrated within the story explaining some facts about demons, angels and the life after, and in the same time delivering an adventure with a killer punch. More importantly, romance doesn't take a back seat and go hand in hand with danger.

With appearances of previous couples and the taste for the future book, Ecstasy Unveiled is funny, hot and adventurous. It's one of those books I simply can't read fast enough and hate for it to end. It's a keeper!

My heart goes into pitter-patter mode when I think of the Demonica series by Larissa Ione. Hot demons, great action, humorous and the kind of smut that makes you break out into a sweat. Ecstasy Unveiled did not disappoint - I was completely entertained throughout the story.

Lore is a Seminus demon who needs sex to survive, problem is, if anyone touches his glyphs or "dermoire" on his right arm, they drop dead instantly. Kind of a buzz kill in the bedroom. In the previous book in this series, Passion Unleashed, Lore discovers he has more family than just his sister Sin - he has three brothers - Eidolen, Shade and Wraith. While Lore's problems in this book involve his brothers, they also have their arms full with violence and tempers erupting at the hospital for no obvious reason.

Lore brought back to life Kynan, a good friend of his brothers in that book, and Lore's boss, Detharu, who Lore "works" as an assassin for is none too happy Lore gave life. Which means Lore is in for some torture and of course he doesn't make it any easier with his smart-ass mouth.

Lore has one more kill to make, his 100th, before he is released from his slave status which will allow him and Sin to go free. Deth is not going to make it easy on him though. Deth gives him one last assignment to kill - with the twist of - if he does not achieve his goal in 96 hours, Sin will die - and let me just say, the person he has to kill is going to make things very difficult for Lore - very difficult.

Idess, a 2000 year old Memitim or guardian angel, is looking forward to the day she can finally ascend into heaven. She currently has two Primori, kind of like charges, she is looking after. Idess has not been the perfect angel, but she has taken a vow of celibacy and tries to live a moral life so she can fulfill her destiny and finally reunite with her brother Rami who is awaiting her. Before that can happen, Lore and Idess are both put to the test as Lore is assigned to kill one of Idess' Primori. They are forced together as both their fates become entwined.

Ecstasy Unveiled is such a fun book to read. Larissa Ione writes very engaging characters and once you get inside their head and you can't help but cheer them on, laugh with them, and err, get a little excited when naked time comes.

With four brothers running around, although they are each very alpha, they each have their own personalities and each being a smart ass definitely adds to the enjoyment. One of my favorite scenarios is brotherly comraderie, similar to the Black Dagger Brotherhood books by J.R. Ward. When a group of brothers live, or in this case work together, fight together, banter and deep down love each other with an intense passion, it becomes a great atmosphere.

Lore is a tortured demon - both physically and emotionally. He has been enslaved to Deth for years and years and killing has become a way of life for him. For being a sex demon, he has lived a remarkably lonely life, choosing to take care of his needs himself, rather than risk killing a female partner with his cursed right arm. He grew up with a human mother and had no idea his father was a demon, until he turned 19 and became a raving lunatic. Sin transitioned at the same time, but Lore wasn't there for her, and he has been punishing himself ever since. He would do anything to protect his sister, even killing someone that he knows will rip his brothers apart.

I think the weakest part of the book is Idess, which surprised me because I always love Larissa Ione's heroines. Idess comes across as a mild mannered, meek angel, yet when her charges find themselves in danger she rushes in full force and is someone to be reckoned with. It is almost like I forgot she is suppose to be a bad ass angel - her personality just didn't seem to go with that side of her. It takes a few chapters to warm up to her but then I was rooting her on. She has really good chemistry with Lore and they have some smoking hot love scenes - which I am sure no one doubted because we are talking about Larissa Ione here. Idess is 2,000 years old and hasn't had sex for QUITE some time..so when the two of them come together, it is very explosive.

Sin steals the show in this book. She is cranky, doesn't want anyone in her life but Lore (at least she won't admit it), is blunt, has massive attitude and just all around a bad ass. Her "gift" is that she can cause disease by just touching someone. She diseases a warg (werewolf) and that disease starts to rapidly infect the warg community. Sin's book is next in the series, although we get a sneak peek at her and her mate. They have amazing chemistry, even though they kind of hate each other at the moment. Sin and Wraith also have some chemistry of their own:

"Easy there, Smurfette.
Smurfette? "Move."
"No."

She hit him. Put her knuckles right in his perfect nose. He didn't even flinch, and she got the impression he could have stopped her if he'd wanted to. Instead, he grinned, those wicked fangs gleaming. "You hit like a girl."

She gasped in outrage. "I. Said. Move. I'm going to find my brother.

He snorted. "If I can't find him, you don't stand a margarita's chance at an AA meeting."

"Y-you arrogant ass," she sputtered.

"It's not arrogance if you can back it up."

She was going to kill him. She really was.

There is a lot that goes on in this book - I have barely touched on it, but you all will have so much fun discovering it all on your own. Although the main mystery is wrapped up in this book, events are put in motion for Sin Undone and I am already itching for this book.

I will leave you with a little teaser - Idess is chained up on the bed (nothing sexually, they are having some kidnapping issues) and Lore needs release, you know sex demon issues and all that.

"Need...privacy." He shoved to his hands and knees above her.
"No. Please. Stay." He halted. "I want....I want to watch." [...]
A low growl of approval dredged up from his chest as he unzipped his pants.
Lore couldn't believe he was about to do this...........

Oh and he does it...quite well.

It's Seminus demon versus an earthbound angel in Larissa Ione's latest DEMONICA installment, ECSTASY UNVEILED. Lore, wishing to end his life as an assassin, is given one last job by his master, and failure is not an option.

Lore has spent a long time at the mercy of his master. Forced to be an assassin, he strives to earn his freedom. Now, it has come down to the final job - one last assassination. Because Lore is the product of a human mother, his demonic abilities make it easy for him to complete the duties required of him - with just one touch of his right hand, Lore can kill. And that isn't all - he can also kill in another way - he learned this when he matured sexually. With this added deadly skill, Lore is basically untouchable. With orders in hand, Lore begins his assignment. He has no idea that an earthbound angel is about to change his entire life.

Idess is a Memitim - she is bound to stay on Earth and protect Primori which is a human or a demon whose life is going to affect the future in some sort of way. When her duties are finally complete, Idess will ascend and earn her wings into heaven. Idess has almost lost hope of this happening but she can feel that the end is near, and she rejoices with the thought of joining her ascended brother. But she is given another Primori to protect, which is odd since Memitim usually don't do this. Her task is to protect Kynan Morgan, a newly marked Sentinel.

If it wasn't for his sister, Lore wouldn't kill Kynan, but he only wants to provide comfort for her so that her life will be easier. Kynan's angel protector puts a huge screw in his plan especially when he finds himself her captive. And suddenly craving cookies. *wink*

The most action packed and suspense driven DEMONICA novel to date, readers will be hard pressed to put ECSTASY UNVEILED down. I know that from the time I learned Lore was unable to touch another I worried about him finding love and being able to have a relationship. He is so hard and dominant that I couldn't help but adore him. His loyalty to his sister is above reproach, but she wasn't the only person he thought about - Lore tried very had to not like the three men to whom he was related.

Idess is just as strong as the female lead in ECSTASY UNVEILED. She is looking forward to finally getting her wings after so many years on Earth but she doesn't shirk her duties to her Primori. With a plot twist that completely surprised the heck out of me, ECSTASY UNVEILED is without a doubt an astonishing addition to Larissa Ione's DEMONICA series.

I recommend reading this fast-paced and totally captivating series in order starting with PLEASURE UNBOUND, book one. You won't be sorry!

Lore is a halfbreed Seminus demon/human and Eidolon, Shade and Wraith's half brother. He is an assassin who has a slave bond to demon master "Deth" until he satisfies a debt owed to the creature. If you have read the Demonica series, you will know that Lore's assignment was to assassinate Eidolon, Shade and Wraith as part of the evil antagonist's plan in the previous two novels, "Desire Unchained" and "Passion Unleashed". Lore, of course did not fulfill his contract. "Ecstasy Unveiled", opens 3 weeks following the riveting conclusion of "Passion Unleashed", and Lore is having to `pay the piper' as it were regarding his failure to succeed in his assignment.

Lore is an enigma because unlike full-blooded seminus demons in the Demonica world his mother was a human which causes the genetics to go awry. What does this mean? Instead of having a gift that can be used for good (Eidolon for instance, can heal with his touch) Lore can kill by touching any creature, human or demon with his right hand. In addition, his dermoire markings, or glyphs are faded snaking from his right shoulder to finger tips. Conversely full-blooded sem's dermoires are much darker and they have a personal glyph around their neck. Lore also has the ability to resurrect the dead in certain circumstances but because of the slave bond, Deth suffers as a result of that intervention. The penalty for using his gift of resurrection or if he does not accomplish a `contract' is exceedingly unpleasant.

Lore learned soon after his S'genesis (final maturation cycle) that intimate relations with a female as with his touch causes death, he therefore has had to find other ways to satisfy the sexual requirements inherent to Seminus demons. Lore is a lonely conflicted character, he doesn't particularly like killing, but he has been left with little choice. When Deth gives him the assignment to assassinate a close friend and family member of the Sem brothers, Lore is again in a catch 22 situation. Oh, and Lore? He is HOT...

Memitim or `angel in waiting' "Idess" is eager for her ascension to heaven and she feels it is close. She has spent centuries in solitude and loneliness and has missed her brother "Rami", her mentor, terribly. Memitim are `Primori' guardians, which means they have charges to keep safe until they fulfill a destiny important to the world. If a Memitim doesn't keep their Primori safe then their time on earth is extended. Idess is an ancient, wields considerable power, she is beautiful, and lethal in battle. As fate would have it Lore's `target' is one of Idess's Primori and so the hero and heroine of this novel meet under extremely adversarial circumstances.

Lore and Idess's relationship develops slowly over the course of the story from literally battling each other into a soul deep love. Idess has been celibate for centuries but she is not a virgin which I found refreshing and unusual given her "angelic" status. I became completely invested in Idess and Lore's story and could not put this book down for wanting to find out how their tumultuous and at times bittersweet story would conclude.

Ms. Ione introduces Lore's fraternal twin sister "Sin" who is an anomaly because Seminus demons are always born male. Sin's gift is even more lethal than Lore's and she is a character with a giant chip on her shoulder due to a history of torture and abuse. Sin also has a razor sharp tongue, and an attitude to go with it, as Eidolon indicates in the story she is "like a female Wraith". Sin like her brother is an assassin and bonded to the same master as Lore, she has an extremely dark past.

Eidolon, Shade, Wraith and their families have significant roles in the plot. A mysterious "aura" has permeated Underworld General causing staff tensions to rise and two of the Sem brothers in particular to be at each other's throats. In addition, ghosts have infested the hospital and equipment failures are happening daily. Even an exorcist hired to do a "cleansing" runs for the hills.

Readers also meet a very hot dhampire (a vampire/werewolf) who I hope we will see in future Demonica stories. Lets just say, he and Sin have an `encounter'. (lol)

In "Ecstasy Unveiled", Ms. Ione takes readers through the Harrowgates (demon portals) deep inside the Sheoul or "demon realm". The amazing graphic imagery and prose brings the Demonica world to life.

IMHO, Larissa Ione continues to build the Demonica world with just the right amount of momentum. As part of this, the world and hierarchy of angels is expanded and integrated. "Ecstasy Unveiled" is full of exciting plot twists, turns, surprises, and action packed scenes that get the heart pounding. There are two main antagonists in the story, the identity of one in particular will completely surprise you and is revealed during a riveting climax. In addition, readers are treated to Ms. Ione's signature dark humor that had me chortling with laughter.

If you have enjoyed the Demonica series thus far, I don't think you will be disappointed. There is a good foundation to Demonica series written into the narrative and I think the book could be read in isolation. However, IMHO it would be far better to read the series in sequence.

This book was an amazing addition to the series!!!! If you haven't read or bought it yet what the hell are you waiting for? She's the only other author that has books that I can't put down. I picked this book up Friday night and started it. And by Sunday night I was done. Her books are so riveting that you get sucked in and don't want to put them down.

***SPOILER ALLERT***
Lore finally finds someone that he can touch and be with. Then he has such conflicts with his brothers and his sister asking him to stay away from them. When Lore finally figures out what's going on with the help of his new lover he make everything right. Ione leaves a cliff hanger with Sin at the very end doing exactly what she's good at and has always wanted.

Very good read - I highly recommend this series. It's very much in line with the other "brother" like series out there - BDB or Midnight Breed, but with its own unique spin... namely demons. Lots of werewolves, fallen angels, and a cast of other characters to keep you intrigued.

I'd definately recommend reading this series in order.

This book moves on to new siblings that didn't exist in the original story. The author is able to continue the story and it doesn't seem she is throwing in new characters just to extend the series. The sex is great too =)

While I enjoyed the last book (Passion Unleashed), I had trouble getting into the story. But with Lore's story I have been sucked back into the series. It's been a joy to read. Ecstasy Unveiled, made me remember why I fell in love with this series. The fabulous world-building, fast action and the ever important sexy demon brothers. They are all in their own ways dangerous, fierce and very hard to resist.

I really enjoyed Lore and Idess, they are definitely two of my favorite characters in the series. Idess comes into Lore's life - kicking his ass and she turns his world upside down. Idess and Lore are both lost and alone in the world, but together they are a force to be reckoned with. I highly recommend this book and series.

The Demonica series is one of my favorites. I have been an avid follower since E and Tayla. In fact Gem and Tayla were two of my favorites. (Kind of miffed Gem and Kynan didn't have their own book but I digress) The plot of the first book was good, but it has gotten completely intense and deep with the other three books. Idess and Lore's is no exception.

Idess is what's called a Memitim, basically if she protects her Primori's, keeps them safe and passes her own 'test' then she gets to be full angel complete with wings and a key to Heaven. Wow I mean compared to Earth with all it's suffering and pain who wouldn't be eager and anxious to go to Heaven? Lore is a half breed who is forced to be an assassin and guess what? His next hit (his 100th by the way which would free him and his twin Sin) is Kynan. Yea like the Sem brothers let alone Gem would ever allow that to happen. What follows next is more than an assassination attempt, it's a deep seeded plot involving two very corrupt people who will stop at nothing to bring suffering to their victims.

Many authors try to throw in 'extras' as I call them. Look at the BDB all of a sudden Angels were brought into that series. There are many others 'cough LKH cough cough' but you get the picture. It almost seems that the authors have this amazing idea in their heads and then all the details coming out don't fit, so then BAM they add an angel, BAM now she's a succubus, BAM no cohesive plot. I have to say that Larissa Ione did spectacular. From the first book if you would have told me that it would have been about angels, fallen angels, special amulets, random siblings showing up and ghost thingies I would have told you that it's about the Aegis vs. the Demons. Ione created a wonderfully cohesive world where all these details fit... and they make sense! That's the most important thing. I cannot wait for Sin's book, that little sneak peak we get at the end of the book is too tantalizing. Larissa Ione is one of my favorite authors and I pray that all of her books maintain this level of solidarity and viciousness. (Hey people actually die in her books, and get hurt)

Ecstasy did not disappoint! I love my pnr dark, sexy, and exciting and this book has it all including dark humor and hot, hot demons. I was enthralled from page one! Ione has a great talent for creating situations that are impossible, but somehow work out in the most unexpected manner. Never predictable the world of Demonica has me hooked! This is Lore's story and the pages sizzle. Idess is a great match for him and as a couple they work well. The brothers find themselves in yet another horrible predicament and the demon hospital is still in peril. The plot is heavily intertwined with surprises and twists that will keep you on the edge. All I can say is if you haven't read the first three in this series get them and read them. The Demonica series should definitely be read in order. Next in the series is Sin's story, Sin Undone, and I can't wait till September!

Interesting premise: alternate modern day with strong fantasy elements, where both the leading man and the leading women are in a quandary. He is enslaved magically and being forced to kill K-- or his sister will die. She is magically obliged to protect both K-- and the leading man, which orders are naturally in conflict. Steamy attraction, some very graphic sex.

My problems with this book centered on the overabundance of references to previous books: point-of-view from previous characters, continuing past plots, lots of time devoted to establishing the next novel's plotline, red herring elements intended to remind you of the previous novel, etc. All of this extra fluff detracted from the current book's plotline, and took way, way too much time away from the leading man & woman.

Highly enjoyable nonetheless, and well worth the purchase price. It can be read in isolation.

Once again, Larissa Ione knocks it out of the park with her fourth installment in the unique and extremely well-written Demonica series. While I can't top the prior reviews, I will say that Lore and Idess do not disappoint. Excellent dialogue, chemistry, humor, and plot prove that Ione is one of the premiere authors of the genre. I pray this series has no end in sight!

If you are new to Ione's Demon world, I would recommend starting from the beginning of this series to savor each book, but Ecstasy Unveiled can absolutely be read as a stand-alone. Enjoy!

I really liked the first three books but this one is my favorite so far. There is a ton of action, adventure, and romance. I always love a heroine who can take care of herself and Idess is great. Both characters grow throughout the book and are so well written.

Larissa Ione is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. I just finished all the ACRO books under the Sydney Croft name and they were all great too!

You won't be disappointed in Ecstasy Unveiled.

This book stole my attention from the first page, i could not put it down. Lore stole my heart with his witty banter and smart mouth comments. Idess wants you to believe she is so sweet and innocence but that sure changes when Lore walks into her life. I couldnt stand Kynan and i cant believe Shade wraith and E would pick him over their own brother. But i guess if Lore could tell the truth instead of hiding his pride the story wouldnt be so good. But all and all when i wanna read a book i want to not already guess what is going to happen and this one didnt disappoint.

Here's a strange thought Catherine.
Before giving an author a 2 star review due to you not reading previous books in the series.....how about doing the right thing by a published writer and read the series and then give a fair review not one based solely on the fact that you did not read 3 earlier books thus the author must be bad enough for 2 stars. Check out 33 reviews from ppl who did read the series.

Very unfair review on your part.

I was browsing the bookstore when this cover caught my eye. I read the back of it and figured I'd give it a try. I wish I would have known it was part of a series first. Unfortunately this book does not stand on its own well at all. There were so many characters running around that I was irritated. I found Lore's newly discovered brothers especially irritating. I suppose if I had read their books first I would have had some investment in them and might have been glad to read about them again. Obviously that wasn't the case with me.

Lore can kill with a touch (even inadvertently) which makes it very awkward for him to have the sex that he needs to keep his rage down. He's also bound to Deth as an assassin until he completes his 100th kill. His last kill is assigned to him and this time he isn't given the option to say no. Deth also gives him a time limit that he has to complete his last kill by or his sister, Sin, will die. Needless to say he's determined to kill the guy even though it will put him at odds with his brothers.

While trying to take out his target he comes into contact with Idess. She's basically an angel-in-waiting and guards people who have an important destiny until she finally makes it to heaven. One of the people that Idess is assigned to guard is the very same person that Lore has to kill. Idess and Lore have several confrontations until Idess gets the upper hand. Unfortunately for Idess another one of the people she has to protect is in danger too. She ends up very busy trying to keep all of her charges safe.

Idess and Lore seem to have good chemistry together. There's nice sexual tension between them and their dialogue together is amusing. I think if more time had been spent on developing them and their relationship I would have been happier. I could never forget that they had known each other a matter of days when they were overcome with love. There was way too much page time devoted to other characters and it definitely impacted the believability of the main character's romance for me.

The type of book this was and tone of it really reminded me of Kresley Cole's Immortals After Dark series. I think if you enjoy those books you might like these ones too. I'd definitely recommend starting with the first one though.

I don't think I'll read any more in this series. I'm mildly interested in Sin's story but I think I would be just as lost to all the previous book references in that one as I was in this one. It really pulls you out of the story when you're constantly wondering what everyone is talking about.
