Before there was anything beautiful and not by happenstance there was Providence. The very reason I fell in love with Jamie McGuire and became a fan for life. I've been a reader of para-normal romances for a long time, but this was the first time I ventured out of the world of vampires & shape shifters and into the realm of demons & angels. Being a Christian and familiar with the Bible helped peak my interest as well. I like relating Biblical characters as 'real' people. Jared & Nina's story was one for the ages. In SOTI their story continues through their daughter Eden. A character born to keep the world in balance. As a direct descendant of Christ, she sees no way past the prophecy dictating that she must kill the son of Satan, or that he will kill her. Levi, the aforementioned off-spring, has different ideas on the outcome. He prefers love to hate. The Bible predicts one outcome. The book of Hell predicts another. Fortunately for us all we were gifted with free will and Levi & Eden themselves will decide what will be.

I can't even put together complete thoughts after reading Sins of the Innocent by Jamie McGuire. This books mm leaves you with all sorts of feels. I can't even adult after reading it. I love the underlying message of good vs evil and fate vs choice that McGuire explores.
After reading the Providence series and Sins of the innocent at once I must say this is one of my favorite series by McGuire. I am glad that she revisited these characters and gave us more into just what the prophecy says at the end of Eden. But the ending left me in tears. I need to know what happens. The ending also left me questioning my purpose of being on this earth. What I truly want to do and the mark I want to leave on this world.
4.5 amazing stars for this novella. It's a must read for any McGuire fan.

Eden and Levi's story is absolutely amazing! Sins of the Innocent definitely didn't disappoint, and that ending? Let's just say I'm completely blown away right now. This story takes place about 18 years after the Providence series, with Eden just getting ready to graduate from high school. Eden has some epic, very unique gifts, and begins to realize that something is amiss in her everyday life, which causes her to seek answers and solace in the arms of a very unexpected person. The twists and turns this story takes along the way are quite a shock to the reader, as Eden begins to realize her true purpose in life. This book consumed me from the very first words to the very bittersweet "The End." This author has never disappointed me, and Sins of the Innocent is no exception. I loved Eden and Levi's story and really hope that the other characters from Providence get a novella, also.

Seriously, Jamie McGuire NEVER disappoints me. She sure knows how to write a damn great novella just like this one.
I won't tell you much, just that you should really, really read this one when you enjoyed her Providence series.
5 big fat stars.

Once I'd finished reading the providence series I was always curious what would happen with Eden, what her part would be & if she would triumph or fail. So I kind of had the same expectations for this book - and it definitely didn't fail in anyway. Except I'm now heartbroken & praying that there will be more to the providence series because that ending blew me away and left me craving so much more!

Sins of the Innocent is a companion novella to the Providence series and it follows Eden from that series. For such a short novella I absolutely loved it! Eden and Levi were perfect and I loved getting to see some of my favorite characters again. I highly recommend and definitely suggest reading the Providence series before picking this one up.

Sins of the Innocent is the story of Nina and Jared Ryle's daughter Eden and the son of Lucifer, Levi.
Eden is the balance of good and evil and every move she makes she considers this. No demon can touch her but boy do they want to. She has trained her whole life for an ultimate fight that they were never sure was going to come or not.
Levi, is the son of Lucifer and it had been proficiency that Eden would destroy him or he would destroy her. But Levi left everything he knows for Eden. Because he fell in love with her.
Eden was once an arch who fell in love with the son of satan and he fell in love with her. Because of that Eden was punished and was put to death. But God decided to give her a second chance and send her back to earth in human form, the daughter of a half angel and a human. But she was stronger then them all.
In the end Eden sacrificed herself to satan to save a friend and in order to keep the balance.
Eli, the angel of destiny, promises Levi that he shall she her again. Hopefully Jamie will give us more to this story so we know what happens when they do.
Oh PLEASE give us more Jamie.
