I'm excited for December 2013 for the sequel! And I have a feeling his voice mail he got has something to do with him being in the military?! Noooo! :( they're cute together & I don't want no long distance relationship going on! Boo. Either way, this was a lovely book. Great romance...but if ur looking for steamy scenes, there was only one in the entire book. That disappointed me a bit.

This book has two of those main characters that you instantly fall in love with and could just read about forever. The story is different, the writing good and I loved it. I wanted to keep on going. It does end on a cliff hanger but not a major one. Looking forward to the next book, I hope it's not to long of a wait!

Irate that their relationship was started with lies but I loved the relationship from beginning to end. I thought it was smArt to tell the story between Finn and Carrie with different POV because then you got to see how bad Finn tried to fight his feelings and how Carrie felt throughout the whole thing . Can't wait to read more from her.

Even though you already know how the book is going to play out right from the beginning you still get sucked in. Or maybe its just me as I am a sucker for quick love books. I hate cliff hangers but since this ended with some sort of resolution and on a good note I didn't mind it. Can't wait for the next one.

Overall I thought this book had a good storyline that was engaging. There were a few parts that didn't quite flow as well as a seasoned author might have written but the characters were built so well that those areas were easily overlooked. I would definitely check out some of her other books.

This story has great potential, I just hope the next book will have a little more substance. I enjoyed the characters and dynamic of the story but as I went along I just felt as though something was missing. The cliffhanger just irritated me but I'm not sure if it was enough to make me want to buy the next book. I'm kinda up in the air about this one but I think it deserves a chance so I will recommend it.

This was a really good story. Rich powerful girl and the bodyguard. I loved the angst the drama was balance and the sex was hot whilst still respectful. Can't wait for Nov 17. I wonder how Carrie and daddy will cope!

Thoroughly entertaining, strong hero and heroine, interesting, nice heat and passion. Nice build up to the unfortunate climax in the story with plenty of angst and pain along for the ride. Looking forward to Book 2.

I LOVED this sweet and sexy romance story of Finn and Carrie. Jen McLaughlin sets up a very unique story with excellent character development. Hooked me in by page one and kept me guessing if these two stubborn love birds would ever hook up. I really hate cliff hangers too... especially when your not told it's a series or saga for that matter these days. But I can't knock this story too bad for leaving you hanging. Wraps up nicely with just a slight tease into the next book that is due in December. Love the title and the cover.... Can't wait to see what happens to these two in Out of Time.... hurry Jen get to writing!!
Do I recommend: YES... for the price you can't beat this romance.

I enjoyed this book and it held my interest throughout. As someone else mentioned, it was a similar storyline to the movie "First Daughter" and I really enjoyed that movie.
Even if the plot line was a little predictable, I thought the writing was good and the story mostly believable.
It did end in a cliffhanger, but that does not disrupt the plot and I felt like things were tied up neatly.
Not hard to see where the second book is going, but I will definitely read it and more by this author in the future.
With so many sub par self published books out there in e-book land these days, this was a great reminder that there are still many gems out there as well.

I liked this book. It had an interesting and entertaining story line. And one thing that's a big winner for me is that it had very few typos and grammatical errors. All in all I would recommend reading this book

I ordered this book after hearing you on the Jeff Walker show last week. Amanda was raving about the book. And I must agree. I read it in 2 days. I couldn't put it down.
The story had ups and downs; comedy and drama. But most of all, a wonderful story of the beginning of a relationship that has its challenges, as they all do. They are 2 great characters that the reader can fall in love with. You find yourself rooting for both of them together & individually.
I can't wait to read the next book. Not sure I can wait until 2014! It's also cool to know you are also from NEPA. I'd love to know if you ever do local book signings, etc.

Kids would probably like this one. Half the chapters were nearly the same. Very little plot, just two people who want to get with each other but don't get together till halfway through. I'm going back to classics and bios.

The author was very realistic with the plot and how people really handle situations and didn't drag anything out. The book was excellently written and an all around pleasure to read! I was very pleased with this and not to mention the plot was very intriguing and different.

This book was well written and I loved the story, it was different than any other story I've read. It does have a cliffhanger and I don't know if I'll make it till next year to read the rest of their story...I want it now!! This book hooks you from the very beginning. Plan to be awhile when you start it because it's impossible to put down. I recommend this to any and everyone! I'll be watching for more by this author...SCORE!!

This is not your average romance. I wanted to dislike Finn but found that he struggled with his feelings toward her. He wanted to follow his heart but wanted to do the right thing. I think when made up hid mind to have her it made Finn all the more enduring.
