It Happened to Nancy is a touching story that every teenage girl should read. It shows you that you are not the only one that goes through things such as rape or AIDS. Nancy was a very brave girl who should have had the chance to live. I love how this book shows that she was confused and needed help because most of us do. The questions and answers at the end of the book were very helpful.

"It Happened to Nancy" is a beautiful book. This story is about a young girl who falls in love with a older man. He uses her for his own pleasures and because of this she suffers. This is a story of a girl living her life trying to make the best of it and figureing out why such a terrible thing happened to her. Note: Not everyone can handle this book. It may be a good way to learn a lesson but to read about a human being suffering can sometimes be hard to stomach.

Beatrice Sparks is the author/editor of a serious of "anonymous" teen diaries. They are meant as "warnings" to children. In fact, they are not based on real diaries and the only one that actually was, she used about 10% of the journal entries and added a Satanic theme which horrified the family.

Now I am aware that children should be taught such things as drugs are bad, teenage pregnancy is not preferable, don't kill yourself etc. However, I take offense when presented in this manner. Children learn best from the truth not extreme propaganda. I also take offense that many libraries (especially school libraries) list this book as non-fiction, when in fact it is a work of fiction.

This book was made for everyone. You may think that you cant get hiv aids, but it can happen. Nancy was only a 14 year old girl when she gotten raped. a but she did not die till she was 16. After she met "Collin" the guy that saved her life and killed her she started to like this guy named Lew. She was worried she was going to give him hiv aids b kissing him but that is not posible. She was stressed out alot and you can get aids from anyone of any age that has aids or even just hiv. If you have anything like a cancer you get it faster.

This book is something that all teenage girls should read. What happened to Nancy is something that could most certainly happen to any girl. We should be aware of who we know and learn that trust is not given, it's earned. IT HAPPENED TO NANCY is realistic and an awakening to all girls who think they are "in love".

I believe this book isn't true. Why? Because although AIDS effects each persons' body differently, she would not known that fast that she had it. (In the book she gets sick about a week after being infected) Plus the doctor couldn't just give her an HIV test like that. He'd have to ask for her permission first. And she wouldn't get the results that soon.
There's more & if you read this book carefully you realize all the holes in this un-true story.

Nancy had gotten aids from this guy and really it was rape. She has to fight her life to survive and she writes her life into a diary. She has many problems in her life and she has to face them by telling kids how she got the disease.

It seemed interesting, but its actually pretty boring. Its not well written, I definitly dont reccomend it. Go ask alice was a bit better..but didnt like that one much either. Plus i doubt anyone really writes like that in a diary. there must have been many touch ups from the author..

The book,It Happened To Nancy, by an anonomous teenager is one of the best books i've ever read! It keeps you interested throughout the entire thing. First it starts off happy and then there is a turning point in the book. It is a true story from the diary of Nancy. It is about a 14 year old girl named Nancy who falls in love for the first time with a college student who she had met at a concert. He had helped her out when she had fallen in the middle of a fight and then had an asthma attack. She couldnt find the people who she was with and then, Collin appeared out of no where and was there to help her. The two of them became friends and Nancy fell in lone with him. She trusted him completely and then, it didnt take long for him to date-rape her. She didnt let anyone know about this and her mother didnt find out until Nancy started feeling sick and had to go to the doctor. She felt as if it were completely her fault that this happened to her. Collin had left her infected with the H.I.V virus. This book was the first book that ever made me cry. I gave it five stars because i have never read anything like it before. It is a book that keeps your interest throughout and not ever wanting it to end! It is also very informational about aids. Nancy decided to make all of her personal diary entries public and it is a book that keeps you aware of what can happen to anyone in life. I love how Nancy wrote her diary, it is like it was meant to be a book. On page 213 of the book, Nancy says, "i can't believe that the lady was Dr. B., who put together one of my favorite books, Go Ask Alice, from the diary of a girl my age who had gotten into drugs. So, the same woman who is helping put together Nancys diary to make it a book, helped another girl with her personal story on drugs. I think that it is a very nice thing to do and books like these can help to save lives. Another reason why i gave this book 5 stars is because while reading the story, i felt like i was the diary and like Nancy was actually writing to me. This was just the most magnificent book i have ever read, and i recommend it to everyone who will take it seriously. I also think that it is an important read for teenagers. I encourage you to read it!!!

Honestly, does it really matter whether the book is a true story or not? In my opinion it still tells a very good story and even has the ability to change a teenagers outlook. It did it for me. When I read this book I was 15 years old and was fixing to get into a relationship with a guy who was 20. Yeah I'd known him a long time, but still this book opened my eyes to the possibilities of what could happen. I made the guy wait for me and found out what kind of person he really was.

He tried breaking into my house when he knew my parents were on a trip. He thought I was home alone, but found out when my brother pointed a shotgun at him how wrong he was. The same guy is now in prison.

This book might be a work of fiction and it might not, but it still possibly saved my life.
