First I would like to say I appreciate the effort of writing A book...let alone 3...so Im sorry for my unkind review but the amount of sheer constant mess that this story degrades into leaves you feeling bored, exhausted, and dissatisfied. Like an encounter with a selfish lover. It just feels heartbreaking because it has so much potential. Maybe a little more time spent on maturing and refining would have improved this book...and parts of it were briefly awesome...man i cant get away from this analogy. Let me just say this, it didnt feel like money well spent. the story is unfinished and reads a lot like hunger games without the finesse.

The Chaos Walking Trilogy puts every single dystopian book to shame! Mr. Ness is brutally honest and completely unafraid to show the horrors of war and humanity in the face of such horrors. While I love the Hunger Games, that is just a romance book in comparison to this book. This trilogy is absolutely mesmerizing!

I found myself totally engrossed in this trilogy. I can't imagine what it was like for people who had to wait for the next book to be released. I loved the relationships between the characters and how well the author points out the evil in some men, evil that they just can't control. I didn't give it 5 stars because I thought it was a bit talky sometimes, but all in all I loved the characters ,both good and bad , and the heroes/villains in all men.

I hope everyone can read this review and have the same feelings I do. Let's start with a short story (funny, right?)

Three years ago I was in class and was being forced to read for the sake of a project. I had no other experience with books... But the cover of the Knife of Never Letting Go grabbed my attention. Little did I know it would grab my heart, too, but that's for later.
The book did not make a lot of sense. I didn't really understand the way Todd talked.. his words were misspelled and hard to understand. So I gave up on the book for three years.

Until a few weeks ago.

I have an English class that requires the class to read a book every morning. Somehow, someone in the class knew of the Knife of Never Letting Go, and told me he thought it was interesting. I came to remember it myself, and started reading it that day.

The more I read and began to let Todd paint a picture in my mind, the more I felt I became Todd's friend. Like her was just sitting next to me telling a story of what happened. I felt so attached I couldn't put it down.

I know some of you may get tired by my baffling, so I will end this now.

TL;DR - THIS BOOK is literally now my heart and spirit. I have fell in love with Todd and Viola, and finding myself calling after them, ever when the series is over. Five years after Ness wrote these books, it still touches me like it did all of you. When I say I love this book, THATS an understatement.

What if every mans thoughts could be heard? By every one. No matter how private, every single thing is heard. And what would happen if no womens thoughts were heard by anyone but herself?
Landing on a new planet, they have to figure it out. That goes much worse than you think.
There also happens to be native people there that humans weren't expecting. That throws a wrench into things also.
I recommend this book, which is the whole trilogy, to people who want something thrilling and different from most sci-fi books out there. In the end, it boils down to the core of humanity.
