Fire Ice (The NUMA Files)

As I have read both the Beaumont and Brady novels it was easy for me to follow the storyline.....It might not be so easy if you haven't been familiar with them before. Great Story with many twist and turns. J.A. Jance is great.....

I really started with Cussler's "Oregon" , series and loved the characters and depth of scientific language. The Numa series was not what I was looking for until this novel. Thanks for the research you put into each book. You really leave food for thought after read....

Joanna Brady and her surrounding characters I like, but oh, my, has JP gone down hill. But maybe it was always so, the constant whining about Anne Corely never ends and is so, so boring, but at least he was doing police work. Then all of a sudden a couple of books ago he falls for a woman who just has never gelled as a character for me. And yet again, he never stops going on about her, she is injected into every single sentence it seems. He's become old and decrepit with a bad back and reading glasses and she has him firmly squashed under her thumb. Not the JP of old that's for sure. And the sleuthing, not so much. We know that police budgets are in trouble but that's about the only strong message that comes through.
