Welcome to today's episode of Brides of the Kindred-the Rufied and Raped.

In this episode, a small town Kindred boy from a vanishing breed is brutally stolen from his parents, implanted with a slave chip and obedience band, has his memory wiped and is sold off and forced to blood bond with a baby (ooo, kinky), who is then sent off to a convent until her 18th birthday, while the poor boy is left to learn to become a cosmic gladiator in order to protect the princess when she returns. Through those long, violent years, the boy grows into a strapping young man whose only reason for living is the princess he has yet to meet. Woe is me. Will the Kindred finally get to meet his princess? Will the princess know who he is? All this and more will be answered. So stay tuned. No, nevermind. Enter the predictable plot grossing everyone out until they get to their HEA.

While I didn't hate this book (or at least most of it) as badly as the Yonnie Six tales, this is just pretty much the same old stuff as everything else she writes, so I give it about two and a half stars. And what's worse, she tells us about a character, the Prince, who was born a year after the Princess, who has gone on a "months long" trip around the galaxy before the Princess returns. But, when the Princess is sold off the the evil Bug King two months after she returns from the convent and the bugs kill everyone on her planet afterwords, it is stated that the Prince is also killed. Um, how is that possible since the Princess herself says she never got to meet her brother? If he is still on his trip when the Princess is sold to the Bug King, then how does that happen? Hmm, not as big on continuity as redundancy I guess. I hadn't read one of these books in over a year because of the same formula she uses for every book. It would be nice if the author could think outside the box, but at this point, it seems obvious that isn't going to happen.

When I first started reading this story, I thought okay, this seems a little different, maybe it will be better than the last few. But no. Around half way through the book she picked up with that predictable "need" she builds into all her books. With the only exception being Sylvan and Sophie, every other book finds all the women need to be rufied in some way, shape or form in order to gain compliance for mating. Whether she eats, drinks, sees, hears, touches, smells, breathes, bathes, kisses, licks, wipes, bumps up against, walks into, bleeds on, goes to the bathroom or gets something spilled on her, the heroine is always in the wrong place at the wrong time and somehow is subjected to something that effects her nipples and nether regions so that she has to be pounded like a whack a mole machine in order to "help" her. And the seriously dopey men in these stories are never affected and are only too happy to oblige with their "treatments" for the greater good. And seriously, if she keeps writing these books, the Kindred are gonna need a bigger spaceship. With all these drugged up and compliant cult breeders coming on board spitting out babies and opening up small businesses, this space commune is filling up fast.

Another amazing and unique book in the Kindred series. I fell in love with this series from the very beginning and it just keeps getting better and better.

Varin is a new species of Kindred, a vision Kindred. They bond by blood while they're young and will be bonded for life. Varin was taken as a young child and bonded to Brynn when she was a newborn before being send off to a convent to be raised. For 18 years he's trained to be her bodyguard and to be ready when she gets home to protect her. Only no one expected her to dream share with him as well.

After her parents sell her off to a nasty being, it's a race to save her....and himself as well. The adventure these two are on is heart wrenching and painful, but their love and bond is unbreakable, even when they think it's lost.

This is yet another definite must read in the series. I voluntarily received and reviewed an ARC from the author.

Varin, meaning “Bound One” is bonded to the Kings newborn daughter at a very young age. When she is sent to a convent to be raised, Varin works on building his strength and fighting skills. He is supposed to dream of her – but she is not to dream of him.

At eighteen Brynn is returned to her family home for an advantageous match. Advantageous for whom?
The match is made with a very unique specimen – and Varin has all he can do to extricate himself from his situation and attempt to rescue Brynn.

Danger, adventure and a heartfelt relationship add to the intrigue of this exciting Kindred episode. Each story is a stand-alone, but you may run into familiar characters too. The characters come alive, and heat turns up high!!

This series always keeps me engrossed in my kindle. Such an imagination this author has.

Half way through the book you'll be thinking ewwwww, not all aliens are hot. Varin is a Kindred, kidnapped from his family to be sold as a slave. He was only a child at the time. He was guard to the Princess Brynn from the time she was born, bonded through blood and dreams.

When it became time to marry her off, for money not love the action kicked in. Just what sort of alien is this suitor? Such an adventure these two had, heart racing moments of "will he be too late". I have a feeling this is not over and look foward to seeing what happens down the track.

A fantastic story line, wonderful characters - some revisits of older characters from previous stories too. This story stands alone, but you'll want to go back and see where it all began.

Book 19 of the Kindred Bride Series and each book continues to have amazing and unique stories, characters and mesmerizing worlds to get lost in. This book is no exception as we encounter a new evil presence in the Kindred world (huge insects, eww) , the Hive.
We are also introduced to the Vision Kindred (another amazing race of Kindred with special "gifts"),who have unfortunately been dying out as they are so valuable they have been exploited as slaves. As a vision Kindred Varin is a prized slave, bought with the intention to use him as a bodyguard for the Princess of a very uptight and snobby royal family. Varin is given an injection of a bit of the Princess Brynella's blood when he is a young boy to form a bond with her, unfortunately it does not bind the princess to him. Varin is considered too low of status to allow the princess to bind to him and her greedy parents decide to sell her off to the highest bidder when she comes of age.
Princess Brynn is sent away as baby to a convent to be raised away from the royal home as her parents do not wish to be bothered with the female. They produce a male heir who will become their focus as the Princess is forced to live a sheltered life with little comforts or royal benefits. She is quite taken back when she returns home from the convent all grown up, to see all she has missed. Ever the proper daughter and her rigid upbringing has Brynn trying to follow her parents wish to be sold in marriage. She is very fond of the big Kindred Warrior who has been bonded to her as a body guard since she was an infant. Although she has not been bonded to him there is that attraction to him the virgin princess can not ignore or explain.

The story concentrates on the Varin, Brynn and the horrid sovereign leader of the hive. Had no problem hating this horrible evil being as I'm no big fan of wasp/roach creatures whether they be small or these gigantic sentient ones. This did make for an exciting plot and it seems like the kindred and people of earth will need some bigger cans of insecticide (kidding) as it's not certain they've been defeated for good (I hope it's soon though).
There is the gradual development of the hero and heroines feelings for each other and also the wonderful journey of them learning to value themselves along the way as well.

If you haven't started reading treat the sci-fi romantic erotic adventurous reader in you and start right now with Claimed then go in order.

Adults please for this. Warnings: violence, murder/ kidnapping/ slavery/ repression themes, torture, predatory bugs bent on taking over the universe AAKK!

This story reminded me of 2 parts Unfortunate Events with Horror elements added in for grown-ups and a dash of romance to give the characters something worth fighting for.
The two main Characters are irresistibly drawn together by friendship and a biological link, resulting from an unfinished blood-bond created by ignorant, unscrupulous slavers trying to score credits, must overcome her family, social moseys, and giant killer bugs to get their HEA. That's determination!
Good writing gets an emotional reaction from readers, but I'm not sure the reactions I felt were the ones she intended. Outrage at her shallow, unfeeling family and their treatment of Bryn and Varin, disgusted and repulsed with the creepy bug-men, empathy for Bryn and Varin for all they endured. So glad they made it through to safety and their happy ending. Hmm, maybe I DID get it right, then. What do you know? Well done, and all from the safety of my reading chair! No actual people were harmed in the making of this mental movie, wheew! Still hate wasps.

I absolutely loved Unbound. If you've read all of the books in the series as I have you know sometimes the storyline seems all so familiar but not with this one and I loved that about it. It was different and gave me a "new" feel to the series even though this book is a continuation and they are better if they're read in order. I loved Varin's character and also Princess Brynalla, even though I wished she would have stood up for herself to her ladies. I feel her parents got exactly what they deserved since they were so willing to get rid of her, thought they knew what was best and just wouldn't listen. I'm actually even more excited to get the next book in the series. I hope Evangeline continues to surprise me with the storylines in this series.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book!

Please don't disregard this review as favoritism! I will be 100% honest

Okay so this story (at the beginning) is more isolated than the others in this series! This is because it is a different part of the universe that we already know.

Faithful readers of Evangeline know her writing and world building is amazing and this book has both of those things! What I love about this book is that the relationship is different from the others in the series. The bond is already between the H and h! And I love this new thing and hope she does it again. ( I'm a sucker for love at first sight). Even if you aren't into love at first sight you WILL LOVE THIS BOOK! If you are on the fence about it then take the plunge because this is one of my favs! (though i enjoy all her books and one click them all).

The H and h are amazing! They are both smart and brave which is hard to find with other authors. Normally it's all about the girl being weak and needing her alpha but this has the perfect balance! They both respect and care about each other. Healthy relationships in books are so so important!

I don't want to ruin any of the story for you but know that this book is one of those that will stay with you! I plan the buy this whole series again but with physical copies!

Another great Kindred romance. If you don't know what the Kindred are and like paranormal romance with some heat? Well then, this series is perfect for you. Each story introduces you to a new type of Kindred. Kindred are alien males that are always big and strong, but what sets them apart is their devotion to females. And once they bond to their female they would do anything for her.

This story takes us way away from Earth. Varin is a vision Kindred. His parents are killed and he is sold into slavery at the age of 7. He is bonded to an infant girl. Once she becomes 18 he will become her slave and protector. But the bond is stronger than anyone expected. And he may have to give his life to protect her.

I voluntarily read and reviewed a copy of the book.

The newest Kindred book, Unbound, really left me wanting more! I am a huge fan of Evangeline Anderson's Kindred series and have read every book.

Unbound was different. It left me on the edge of my seat and gave me a huge case of anxiety from the trials and tribulations faced by Brynn and Varin.

Of course the other books in the series were fabulous in their own right, this book had a slightly darker, more desperate feel to it that just felt ... Raw.

I couldn't stop reading until I finished and I'll be chomping at the bit for the next in the series.

I highly recommend easing this entire series.

Another hit out of the park by Evangeline Anderson! The dynamic chemistry even if denied by the couple was sizzling. The plot was good as always and the books just keep getting better. Cannot wait until the next book in the series comes out. Riveting Sci-fi erotica at its best!

Evangeline Anderson is a book goddess. I love how brynn was so innocent but ended up falling in love with her protector. Varin is strong and fearless and seeing the lengths he went to save and protect the one he loves is what any girl could hope for and dream of.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
Another well written and engaging story from. Ms. Anderson. I loved that the preface gave a pretty strong hint that the connection went both ways and that although. Varin had a blood bond, they felt drawn to each other. The way the scene is described is heart breaking and hopeful as is the scene when Brynn is taken away from Varin after the dungeon "incident" . As always, we get brief reunions with past characters and a perfectly sigh-worthy HEA. Can't wait to read more of her books - they never disappoint!

The conflict with Bryan not wanting anything in her was so repetitive , it began to take away from the story. I have enjoyed so many books in this series. This was not my favorite. Please try again

Here's a warning the author doesn't include: There is RAPE. The main girl is raped IN the story, we see it. Sure, it's by a doctor with a metal rod (to get rid of her virginity no less), but forced penetration while the girl is yelling "No" is rape and the reader should be warned!! I'm getting really sick of all the rape in these books. If the girl isn't being raped in the book, or someone isn't attempting to rape her, then she's been raped in the past. But each time she just falls into bed with the Kindred male with not a lot of issues. I'm on the tipping point of not reading more if all of them include some element of rape.

Now, I've given the book a 3 (instead of a 2) because this author is a great writer, I've read all 19 Kindred books. She does great stories and plots. However, this book is merely "Ok". Here are the pros and the cons:

CONS
#1: The rape. Not only is she raped by the doctor with the rod, she goes into heat for the evil bug... and then almost gets raped by him too (her mind is screaming no, but she goes to him and he almost gets her). Here's A Hint: Mating heat is only sexy if it's for the main male & the girl wants it.
#2: Because there's so much focus on the bad guys that it's more of a horror novel and less of a romance. It's graphically disgusting in a way that none of the other 18 have been. The bulk of the book also focuses on this instead of the relationship, there's a bit much "info dump" on the bad guys.
#3: The (consensual) sex barely happens for the first 75% of the book.

PROS
#1: The good sex there is is done well.
#2: Interesting (if disgusting) new enemy for the Kindred.
#3: Well written, not a lot of typos, etc.
