This was definitely one of the best free audiobooks I’ve ever snatched up. I mean, what fantasy fan DOESN’T know of Drizzt and epic journeys? I really enjoyed this collection of short stories, because it was fun to dive back into different parts of the world and the characters I know and love. Easily, my favorite was “Guenhwyvar,” because I’ve always been so curious about her origins. “Wickless in the Nether” was also a favorites. Most of the narrators ranged from quite satisfactory to absolutely brilliant. I have two complaints, however, that kept this from being a 5-star book. 1: Two of the narrators were… not the best choices. :( And 2: not one of these stories focused on a female character. I had hopes that one of them was going to star Catti-brie, but once again she was just a mention on the way to Drizzt’s victory. =/

I've been listening to the Legend of Drizzt audiobook the last few days. Despite my hatred for the character of Drizzt, the offer of the audiobook for free tempted me. Ice T did some of the narration and I really wanted to hear his take.
So it turns out that he's pretty good, as you'd expect, but I have trouble dissociating his voice from his Law & Order character. Al Yankovic also read one of the stories, and did a fine job, although once or twice I found myself expecting him to break into song.
But Wil Wheaton *blew me away* as a narrator. Seriously, this guy should go into acting or something. Maybe he might do some more stuff around D&D or even science fiction if anybody ever gives him a shot...

Although I was dancing around his books for years, all it took was one book and I was a big R. A. Salvatore fan. I'm about 1/2 way through all his works now and looking forward to reading the rest. If you enjoy the fantastic genre, this author is a must read.

This was fantastic. I haven't listened too much to audio books. I liked the variety of the cast. My favorites were felica, Draco actor, and wil Weaton. If you are a fan. I highly recommend. This was great to listen to on my 45 min drive to and from work. It took me about a month to finish.

If you love the stories you will love the audio. Ive read all these stories already, and own them in multiple books.
THe Audible version is great, and has great readers, except for Ice T, he really didnt seem to enjoy reading or actually know what he was reading(he said so in a podcast).

Don't stop halfway through the first book! I found that after I pushed my way through the tougher parts of the first book and I was happy I did. This series lights up the imagination and makes you feel for the main character Drizzt. If you do chose to give this series a try, like stated above, please read to at least the second book before you give up, you will not be disappointed.

The origin of Guen, Bruenor's first kill, Artemis' debut in Calimport, Drizzt getting humbled in Dark Mirror, TWO awesome mini-adventures of Artemis and Jarlaxle...need I say more? It's just plain fun reading and essential to those who want the whole story of this ensemble cast of cool characters.

While these were fun stories, and the Audible version was fantastically read by an awesome cast, it's call "The Legend of DRIZZT" and yet he's only in a couple of the stories!
I would have been much happier if the description had stated outright that this was a collection of stories about other characters.
