**potential spoilers for the book ahead**

Just as good as the previous installment, with some good twists and turns, even if I found out who the killer was pretty early on. He was kinda of like a Scott Dunn meats 3XK kind of killer. Definitely a fun read for fans of the show, as it is cool seeing what they have Richard Castle use from the cases he's worked with Detective Beckett. Not to mention seeing all his little fantasies, which really aren't fantasies anymore since his muse finally hooked up with him at the end of Season 4. Also, I've noted that the books often had little hints about the upcoming season. NAKED HEAT hinted about Esposito and Lanie hooking up in Season 3, and FROZEN HEAT hinted at Paris in Season 5. So I'm intrigued to see if that little tradition continues and something from within these pages comes out on the show.

On a side note, as a fan of the show, I was a little disappointed that there wasn't just a random character named Eunice. In 5x03, Beckett makes a deal with a guy to get his money to help Castle win the auction for the contents of a storage unit. Part of the guy's deal was that Castle would name a character after his mom in his next book. While it was simply a little scene, usually they're very good at including anything mentioned about the books in the show in the actually books they publish. Such as in Season 4, Martha interrupted Castle writing a scene about a character getting thrown off the Brooklyn Bridge. And that then does in fact happen to a character in FROZEN HEAT. So, just disappointed there was no Eunice, as I was kind of hunting for her name while reading.

This was a very enjoyable book. Kept trying to picture Castle and Beckett in these characters. It was a lot of fun to read. If you are looking for an easy to read story that will keep your mind busy, try this read.

Great twists and turns in this complex plot. Kept me hooked all the way though, especially the last half. Kept thinking the end was close; then off it went again. Clues were there, but subtle enough not to give the end away. Excellent!

This story was really good and the many TWISTS were hard to predict. Although some things are predictably the book is well written and I look forward to the next book he needs to mass produce like Patterson but I suppose if he did they would not be as good.

The first 2 novels where like scripts only with afew things added. Not very good but read them anyway because I love the show. The last 2 have actually been good books, plot story lines, good characters, Nikki finds her moms killer different that the show discribes but it's better I think.

I have had the pleasure of reading some other heat novels. I have rated others higher based on the story. While this book solved a question I had, it took too long to get to it. I only recommend it so you can put the murder to bed.

I enjoy all the Richard Castle books about Nikki Heat because I follow the "Castle" series on TV and simply visualize Beckett as Nikki Heat along with the rest of the main characters, which makes for a quick and enjoyable read.

Year after year, I have bought these books and enjoyed them with the series, "Castle". This one is the best one yet. It ties up all the loose ends of the prior books in a very satisfying way. However, I now wonder if "Castle" has anywhere to take his books next. I hope so ... I want to read more from this author!

Easy reading with good story line. That's if you like detective novels. The story could go in a number of directions, so you are always left guessing as to what will happen next. Plenty of action. Enjoy the suspense as you work your way into the book.

I find myself chuckling at the inside jokes that abound in this book. Too many to mention and why would I want to spoil it? I cannot read the Heat books without hearing Castle, Beckett, Ryan, and Espo etc all. Can't we do more than one book a year?

This is another great book by Richard Castle. Love the television show, and the books are a great way to keep more Castle coming. This latest one answers a lot of questions. Entertaining, informative, and enjoyable!

Finally, Nikki Heat has all the answers to her mother's murder. It was an interesting ride. False clues. Leads that go nowhere. All in all, a nice trip. I can't wait to see what her next focus will be in the next book...

I chose this rating because this book kept me involved & guessing who all the bad guys were! I would recommend this book to anyone who likes action. It is especially good, because I visualize Heat/Beckett & Rook/Castle as I read as well as the other cast members! Great entertainment!

Another in the line of wonderful Richard Castle mysteries. Filled with twists and turns and red herrings. I always buy audio books, so that I can listen to them in the car. Listening to Deadly Heat, I would arrive at a destination and not want to turn the car off and get out of the car!

So many layers to the onion. Have read many books in my years, mostly factual; although I have sci-fi authors, mystery authors, this is just fun to have different avenues to enjoy with a supposition of 1 topic!

Again the heat, heats up... tracking her mothers killer and still working on cases that may or may not be combined .... It was exciting to read and always interesting to see where their relationship goes...

The story was filled with suspense and kept you guessing if they would solve the case. Just when you thought they had it all wrapped up a snag came along. I couldn't put the book down because I had to find out what happened next.

I love the Castle series. They follow the show vaguely but there is only slight bits in the story that reminds the reader that they are similar. It's not great literature but an easy and entertaining read.

The only thing that would make this series better, would be if there was a new series, authored by Jameson Rook. And I have to ask the question..... if a movie were made would it be about Richard Castle following the TV series, or Jameson Rook, following the book. Either way us fans come out the winners.

I have been watching Castle from the beginning. Ready these books has been lots of fun, because you relate the characters from the book to the ones on TV. Very great reading. Can't wait until the next one is out.

These are not literary masterpieces. The Nikki Heat books are pure entertainment. If you've watched the Castle show you can pick out all the twists & turns from the previous season used in the book's plot.

It was a nice distraction. The writer was able to wrap up an ongoing storyline by weaving it into a new storyline with a couple of surprises to boot. I'm looking forward to reading the next installment of this character.
