What a fantastic debut! Kay's writing style is so smooth and flawless, that sometimes I forgot I was even reading. At some moments, I felt like her writing was influenced by the great Sarah J. Maas. You can tell Kay was made to be a writer. It flowed so well and kept me on the edge of my seat. I did not want to put this book down! The way Kay writes her characters is flawless. She gives you enough to get a feel for them at the beginning and grows on them from there. It was hard not to fall in love with the feisty, strong, sassy Sage. She is probably one of my most favorite female characters by far. She suffered so many hardships in this book but was able to bounce back. She didn't bounce back unscathed which I liked. Alot of times a character will go through something traumatic and take a short while to heal but come back the same as before. I love how Sage doesn't. To me, it is more relatable. She doesn't let what happened keep her down, she keeps fighting. Kay did a good job making you feel the desired emotions when needed. All of her men in this book are drool worthy! Even though some are total dicks, there's something nice to each one. Whether it's looks or some personality quirk, something makes you like them, even the villain. I would recommend this book to anyone! Book 2 needs to hurry up!!!

The Aermian Feuds is an addictive new series by talented author Kay Frost. It begins in Book 1, Rebel's Blade, with the threat of war from the neighboring country of Scythia and a civil war from within Aermia. There is suspense with deep betrayal, plenty of secrets, and subtle romance. Sage is a rebel who will do whatever it takes to save her beloved country of Aermia. Captured by the Crown Prince and later tortured, she must face her demons and learn to trust those she was taught to hate.

Rebel's Blade is one of the best young adult female protagonist novels that I've read. The characters are deep, the adventure intense, and the story is moving. Even the ending is perfectly fitting. I definitely want to know what happens next! This series is best suited for ages 16 and up.

I received an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.

Ahhh this book. It's an incredibly fun read. Fast paced, rich characters, and the potential to move the stars.
Sage is our heroine, and she is immediately likeable and relatable to most ladies. Strong willed, heart of warm gold, wrapped in steely iron. She doesn't just float through life taking what is given to her. She decides to carve her own path and she desperately wants to make the land she lives in a better place. Just love her.
This is the author's first book, and she reels us in with bravado! I'm excited to see where Frost Kay takes us in book 2. She leaves us dangling on quite the cliffhanger. There is SO much potential to move forward with, other lands to explore, diving into the characters a little deeper, strengthening bonds, and testing limits. I can't wait for the next book!!!

What an great debut novel for Frost Kay! The writing style was consistent and flowed well. I had hoped to get a little more background into some of the characters. Like how Sage went from meeting Rafe to being highly trained and part of the rebellion, what happened? What was the time period in between? Why had they been watching her? And Sam, what made him into who he is now? I loved the peek into how King Marq met Ivy and the stipulation on royal marriages. I couldn't really tell what kind of relationships were being built between individual characters, at times it was confusing. But overall a pretty good book. I did enjoy reading it and hopefully some of this will come to light in future books, which I look forward to reading.

I liked the alternating points of view that made it hard to choose a side. Both main characters think their chosen path is the right one; and I was interested to see if either won out. But both characters have the same goal, albeit different means to try to reach it. I wanted them to be able to work together while at the same time being frustrated at their lack of understanding the others' side. And that cliffhanger!!! I have to read the next book ASAP!! I liked the interplay between brothers and cousin, and the friendships Sage formed. I wished she hadn't spent so much time in the castle though, as that part of the plot seemed to drag at times. The only reason it took me so long to read this was that I got busy with work, but otherwise this would have been a quick read!! You want to keep turning the pages to find out what happens

I binge read this book in between shifts at work .. I resented having to work that should say something..

Sage is sassy independant and a hard nut to crack. It took me a little while to warm up to her but she rose to the occasion admirably. Shes a consummate actor, a natural liar, and a a genuinely sweet and caring person. In short shes a conundrum, wrapped up in an enigma, tied with a bow.

Sam is yet to grow on me, i see great potenitial in him he is a womanizer, a spy and a prince with high morals. Thus could go either way people, strap yourselves in.

Gav is a sweetheart end of story.

Tehl needs to get the stick out of his arse, having said that i sympathise with him the most, he's a beautiful soul waiting to be discovered.

Frost Kay has certainly gripped my attention with this and as along term lover of fantasy and an extremely picky reader. I think i may have found one of my top 5 new authors. Nucely done

Wow...just wow! Rebel's Blade was an amazing start to what I'm sure will be an incredible series! The humor, pain, and anger drew me in and didn't let go until the last page was read. Even the hints of possible romance were well done. I am anxious to know more about Rafe. He is a mystery to me that I look forward to figuring out. Sage...my words seem to fail me when it comes to describing what a complex character she is. The fact that the author didn't make her unfailing strong, makes me love her more. And those princes. I couldn't decide if I liked or hated them! Dear Gavriel...he is my most favorite. I wish I had a Gavriel in my life. I will be not so patiently awaiting the second book!

This book had me surprised, and gosh, what a ride! I really enjoyed this book, I could not put it down. It was intriguing and I like the different points of view, giving an idea of what the characters were thinking. This book definitely felt like a Beauty and the Beast retelling to me, that spans a few books at a time, and it made me like it even more.

I liked Tehl's character, and although I think he is a type of character that is quite cliche, I still liked him. I loved the jokes he had with his brother, Sam and the two together makes for an amusing read. Kind of reminds me of a brother duo I read in another book, and I loved it all the same.

Sage is such a strong character. You see her determination, courage and persistence. She goes through a number of ordeals, but is continually fighting for what she believes in. I'm curious where she will go in the next book and how these mix of characters will work together.

I loved Gavriel. I just do. The kindness, purple eyes.. what more could I say? I hope I see much more of him in the next book.

Overall, Rebel's blade was addictive. It played on my mind until I could reunite with my kindle to turn the pages. It even kept me up late at night. Thoroughly an enjoying read, and I can't wait to get my hands on Crown's Shield.

Interesting premise, but I neither liked the style of writing or felt invested in the characters. I've tried to read through this book three times without success, giving up before the halfway mark each time in favor of something else. There's something very dry about how circumstances and emotions are presented by this author that fails to show depth of character or promote genuine empathy from readers. I couldn't invest myself in the state of affairs or the plot. I also couldn't make myself care about what had happened to set up circumstances, and thus also couldn't care about what might happen in future events. Consequently, my third attempt at reading this book will be my last. Not for me.

This is a well written imaginative story. The characters are well developed and true to life, imperfections and all. My heart went out to the king and his sorrow. I loved the banter between the brothers and their cousin. I felt for Sage and the torture she had to endure. There were a lot of surprises throughout this story and especially the surprise ending. Of course it makes me want (no need) to read on toward the second book. There are still a lot of unanswered questions I hope will be delt with in the next book or two. I highly recommend reading this book if you are looking for a few hours of pleasurable entertainment.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book! Each character was well thought out. Sage was fierce, and the brothers/cousins were all lovable, even Tehl (poor guy can't catch a break). There was some darkness, but it was well balanced with more lighthearted scenes and some humor. It ends in a cliffhanger, but it's at a rather perfect moment, and since I was already planning to move on to book 2 as soon as possible it didn't bother me.

There were a few minor typos that I noticed, but they were so small they weren't distracting, and I would recommend this book regardless.

Love, love, Loved this book! From the beginning the book held me captive. The characters, setting, it all made way to a fantastic story. The main female character is one who can take care of herself, is compassionate, and caring, as well as sarcastic and funny. Her character really grows nicely throughout the book and she becomes a character you can root for. Overall this book was a fantastic read, will keep you entertained and on the edge of your seat wondering what is going to happen next.

Rebel’s Blade is an amazing story about a young girl who is trying to save the kingdom in which she lives and a prince trying to save the kingdom he has been given. The story is told from the point of view of both characters allowing the reader to see the development from both sides. The story was paced well and the characters developed well. There were a few points in the story where I was unsure how certain characters knew one another but that could be due to how quickly I read this book. I could not put it down. I had a feeling the story was going to end the way it did but the execution was flawless. The ending left me wanting more. My only hope for the next book in this series is for romance to blossom between the characters.

woah just woahhhhhh!!! ughhh i cannot describe how much i really enjoyed Rebel's Blade. The story is told from Sage and Tehl's point of views, and the story is made with so much spice it's too good to put down. There is a scene that could disturb people. Overall, Rebel's Blade is about a Bada$$ chick and a Prince struggling with his kingdom. Minor characters are lovable too, and the ending tore me to shreds with longing. Betrayals, surprises, and twists make Rebel's Blade awesome. Totally recommend.

Sage and Tehl - great first book! Tehl, crown prince, has had his hands full since his mother died and his father, the king, has virtually given up on life. In a word, the kingdom is falling to pieces. Enter the rebellion, via Sage, who has been captured by Tehl, but she’s nothing like he or his brother excepted! She turns their life upside down.
I received an ARC for my review and all I can say is after I started reading it, I didn’t stop until I finished it, which was at 4am this morning! Great book, ready to read the second book!

Rebel's Blade was a delightful read. Two points of view, from male MC and female MC, described the characters in a flowing manner. There were some times in the book I said poor Sage. There were times I laughed and there were times I was at the perfect level of contentment that I only get from being the zone reading a good book. I did find the world building to be believable without being over done. I look forward to reading the next installment in The Aermian Feuds! Thank you for such a delightful read!

Can I just say absolutely AMAZING! The story was engaging and you can't help but fall in love with the characters! I simply did not want to put this book down! The ending definitely leaves you longing for more. It's aggravating, but in a good way! You must read this book. It will not disappoint. Well done Frost Kay! I eagerly await the next one.

Amazing book! I could not put it down!!! There are not too many books that while I am reading them, I can watch them play out in my mind. This is most definitely one of them!! From deception to not knowing where you stand, from knowing right from wrong, from not knowing who you are really dealing with, this story will keep you engrossed so far in the story that when you are finished you'll be impatiently waiting for book #2 to come out! Enjoy your time in Aermian.

Honestly, I started reading this book because I received it for free in exchange for my honest review...and I'm so glad I decided to get it because I loved this book. I started reading it last night and kept reading it until I was done and then I started the next book and stayed up until 5 a.m. reading that book (I am very tired today). This series draws you. The story line is great, the author develops the characters and all their traits and the writing is very good. Start this book, you won't regret it!!

I enjoyed this story, enough to read the next installment in the series. The characters were alluring and the story line unique. It improved as I read on, but it felt like it was scratching the surface of what it "could" be. Kind of like flying above a city when you were meant to be walking in the streets. I have high hopes that the next one will elicit a more connected feeling, as the authors writing style evolved as I progressed through the story.

I loved the book. The female protagonist Sage is so lovable and strong. I love her. She is strong without being bullheaded and has a big heart. The three prince are anxious g with such different characters. I love how they manage to work together. I can't wait for Sage to be with the guys and see the firework. We know Sage is never going to be the compliant girl. I can't wait to read the next book.

Very good story. I like the intrigue and the suspense of what will happen next. I like that Sage was vulnerable and strong such a reprieve from other stories that may show strength but the girl loses herself in the hero. This is the type of storytelling I really enjoy that as soon as the story ends you wonder how long will it take the author to complete book #2 and when can I get my hands on it!!!

Wow!! This book is awesome!! You would never know this is a first time author.. Frost Kay you are amazing! This story is told by different characters. Once you learn them it's not confusing at all. I actually loved it being this way. It's really entertaining and keeps your attention. I can't wait for the next in the series.. I loved the way it ended by the way.. It was the perfect spot.

A fabulous debut by Frost Kay, Rebel's Blade kept you in your toes throughout. Sage woman of incredible fortitude and mental strength which is often tested. It is a great show of two opposing sides to one problem. Which is right? Is there a right? How do you choose? Do you let yourself be swayed? These are some of the themes present which conflict between Sage, a rebel, and Tehl, the heir to the throne and it's current puppeteer. Gripping. I can't wait to see where this story leads next.

This is such an excellent book. Every character is so multi-faceted and unique, and I fell in love with all of them in their own way. There is action and intrigue, and it switches from different perspectives as the story continues. My favorites are usually from Sage's point of view, but you really start to care for so many characters with the way the writing is done. I absolutely loved this book and couldn't put it down!! Highly recommend!

This was a really good book after the first quarter. The first bit was a little slow but once Sage is caught, the drama begins to unfold. Everything she has been taught about the King of Aermia isn't exactly what it seemed.

Frost's First Book was such a stunning and welcome surprise, I couldn't put the book down. Rebel's Blade is a fast paced, and enjoyable Read. If your looking for a damsel like book this is NOT it. Sage is a smart, fast and kick butt girl! Each character has their own back story and I can't wait to find out what they are. After Sage's story is finished of course :)
