Thrillers
Review:I began reading this one night and was hooked right away. I love the way the author narrates the story through the husband. All his thoughts are known as he thinks, speaks, and we are left wondering if his wife is thinking what her husband thinks she's thinking. A page turner for sure. One of the most interesting and entertaining books I've read in a very long time. If you like psychological thrillers, don't miss this one. Read more
Review:I like Sanford's style. They're usually quick, smart reads that leave you mostly satisfied. This one wasn't any different story wise. This is the first Sanford book I've bought for my Kindle tho, and I have to say, the formatting was AWFUL!!!! Someone needs to clean this one up in a big way. Read more
Review:I love Sandford. But in this instance I feel as if I had read the book previously...too many similarities to previous Sandford books.
Sex crimes, sex crimes involving children...I like the Flowers series, but if we are going to have a new detective, what about some new crimes types for him to solve! Stop recycling and create a story line as powerful as that of Davenport. Read more
Review:Having just completed (with some effort), Sandford's latest work, "Storm Front", my recollection of "Shock Wave" is that it was slightly below par for a Virgil Flowers investigation, but was still far better than his latest offering. Shock Wave is a tale of a bomber running amok against a powerful super-store owner whose new build has divided the community in a rural town. There is a sub-plot of local council corruption, including pay-offs by the rich developer. The plot does stretch credibility... Read more
Review:The mystery isn't perfect, the solution is not without holes, but the author is a pro. The pages turn and it feels good. Sanford is looking for new creative outlets, maybe Kidd could get another shot. Read more
Review:Oh for Heaven's sake, stop complaining and get on with life. If you like John Sandford (by the way, I buy all of his books) don't wait to get this on Kindle. So it's over $10.00--so what. The story is good, the characters are great and I can carry it and all of my other Kindle books with me in one sleek folder. I love my Kindle and I really like this book. Read more
Review:Took a long time to get through and the story never really got off the ground. The author obviously know his history, and I suppose he’d like us to know it, too. But ramming something down the reader’s throat is never a good idea. It didn’t lift the story and really made no difference. Disappointed! Read more
Review:A fun beach read. Not the deeply philosophical work implied by some of the author's press releases, but definitely engaging. And he does make a very good point about the motivations, or lack of them, for big pharma to find cures for disease as distinct from long term "treatments" which generate revenue forever. Characters had a definite stock movie quality, as do many of the situations. And, of course, the main characters are all movie star gorgeous. It seems to written specifically with movie... Read more
Review:A very good story that keeps you guessing what will happen next. There are times that you can guess what will happen next and other times that you can't. I really liked it and am looking forward to the next book. Read more
Review:Terminal Rage was well written and kept me on the edge of my seat throughout the whole book. There were a few curve balls that I was not expecting which got me so intrigued that I was not able to go to sleep when I was supposed to be sleeping for work in the am. I can genuinely say that I am impressed. You captured and reeled me in with the first paragraph. Read more
