Review:This is my favorite Paolo Coehlo book. It's about choices, trusting the Divine, and perseverance. I would recommend this for anyone who has had multiple set-backs in life, or is has been waiting a long time for a dream to come true. Read more
Review:Great novel! Shows you that when you look for the wonderful feeling, love, the person who we think is the right person to share that feeling, it could be just someone who are going to teach us something alone the way. Read more
Review:I would recommend her books to everyone who likes to see a fiction novel based on a Biblical character and the surrounding history of that character. She has mastered this art beautifully. Her books grab your attention early on and you can't put it down until it's finished. Read more
Review:The book was so interesting, explaining about the conflict between Israel & the Palestinian people. So many of the people would like peace, but are thwarted by the terrorist faction. And the intrigue with the main character finding Sopie was exciting. Read more
Review:People who read this well-written novel will enjoy the plots in this story and learn much about the history and love of literature, ancient and modern; rational philosophy, such as do people have free will and why do people suffer; and the conditions in late twelfth and late nineteenth century Egypt, as well as the complex horrifying conditions in Egypt today. They will also find themselves thinking about the question do we remember what occurred in our past, and is history documenting what actu... Read more
Review:I found this book disjointed and not easy to follow. I am an avid reader and heard such great reviews of this book but it really doesn't warrant such glowing reports, sorry to say. The characters were not well developed and the story line so convoluted as to not make sense. Read more
Review:This was a fantastic debut but talented Jennifer S. Brown. I highly recommend reading the author's notes at the end, when she discusses how she came up with the story. A fascinating and unexpected plot for the time and place. Read more
Review:As evidenced in the first two novels of the Restoration Series, Blackstock continues her 'grab you' style of writing. I couldn't wait to get to the last novel of this series! Now I am already in my third book of her 'Second Chances' series, and enjoying every bit of it. She completes one life story and continues with another familiar character in the next books. You will delight in her works! Read more
Review:I first read Exodus as a young teenager; it opened my eyes to history of which I was not yet aware. Later, as I grew in my love for the Bible, I was able to wed the message of Exodus with the ancient Scriptures, and Exodus became even more dear as one of my favorite novels ever. Reading Exodus and uniting its history with the Scriptures helped me realize we are living in times when we have seen and are seeing the fulfillment of the Scriptures regarding the regathering of the Jewish People to t... Review:The continuation of the two part series. For some reason - perhaps because they were closer in time I remembered the actual events - this last half seemed to move slower than the "The Hope." Herman Wouk certainly dug deeply into every aspect of history as he provided in depth coverage of the more protracted war in the Sinai and the fascinating undulating bridge over the Suez canal. At times the political infighting grew boring, but it makes up a good part of the story of this period in Israel... Read more
