Feel the Fear . . . and Do It Anyway
Feel the Fear . . . and Do It Anyway

Review:I read half the book and cannot find the motivation to continue. I have been having a lot of challenges at work that have caused fear which is preventing me from being myself. I thought this book would inspire me to really go out there and create positive energy inside of me. The 3 stars is because the book is not bad, it does have good insight. But it is not very action-oriented. A solution to becoming more positive is listening to inspirational CDs everyday, namely, Susan's other CDs. I did fi... Read more

Review:such a funny re do of Psychocybernetics. If you have to ask what that is...you are wayyy too young. A good book on self realization and visualization and positive thinking. I had fun reading this and think Gen X and Millennials would benefit reading it instead of youtubing everything!. Yes, I'm old. Read more

Transcend: Nine Steps to Living Well Forever
Transcend: Nine Steps to Living Well Forever

Review:Which is quite weird otherwise interesting useful book. Do wish they have more specific brand recommendations (objectively) as there are so many products out there and quality/purity is very uncertain with the supplement industry not being regulated at all. Read more

A Teacher's Final Quest to Discover Life's Greatest Lessons
A Teacher's Final Quest to Discover Life's Greatest Lessons

Review:David Menasche's "The Priority List" is an excellent example of how one person can change the world for the better. While Menasche may no longer be able to teach in the classroom, he still continues to educate people through his words, and most importantly his actions. As you journey through the pages, you realize that he has not only discovered his purpose in life, but that he is willing to stay the course regardless of the challenges he faces. For his students, he gifted them with the ability... Read more

My Late-Life Adventures in Sex and Romance - A Round-Heeled Woman
My Late-Life Adventures in Sex and Romance - A Round-Heeled Woman

Review:Long awaited book since the first reviews and all the hype appeared. Thank goodness she lives in Berkeley, 2 minutes from me, as that means I'll be able to attend a book reading somewhere nearby. The lady's got guts, chutzpah, joie de vivre, etc - - - but most of all, boy, can she write!
The narrative arc of A Round-Heeled Woman is framed on Juska's desire for a truly fulfilling sexual relationship for, one may assume, the first time in her life. After decades as a teacher and a single mom, l... Read more

Crazy Sexy Love Notes: A 52-Card Deck
Crazy Sexy Love Notes: A 52-Card Deck

Review:I bought these a bit begrudgingly because I have plenty of card decks. I am SO GLAD I did -- these are one of the nicest sets I have and make great gifts because they are simple and not heavy-handed.

The cards are top quality (which isn't so common these days). I love that they are a matte finish and not slick. The art is absolutely charming, and the sentiments are useful and very accessible.

I'm off to buy a couple of sets for gifts. Read more

Every Woman’s Guide to Life and Love - Choosing Me Before We
Every Woman’s Guide to Life and Love - Choosing Me Before We

Review:This book is excellent. It really points out to you how you must figure out what you need from life and what makes you happy before getting into a relationship. It gives you loads of exercises and questions to ask yourself. It can take a while to work through due to all the exercises but it is well worth it. Wish I had read it before I got married (and subsequently divorced). So simple, but scary how many of us don't even consider our needs / wants / objectives before getting into a relatio... Read more

Mastermind: How to Think Like Sherlock Holmes
Mastermind: How to Think Like Sherlock Holmes

Review:Frankly, I have never read another book quite like the one Maria Konnikova has written. Almost immediately after I began to read it, I thought of the television series, The Mentalist, whose lead character (Patrick Jane, played by Simon Baker) is a consultant for the California Bureau of Investigation. Each week, he demonstrates the intellectual curiosity as well as observation and analytical skills for which Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes is renowned. Both possess a "mastermind" that has b... Read more
