Review:One tends to think of the Dark Ages as a gloomy colourless period of restraint and oppression. Eco, however, shows that straining against the yokes of this repression is a vibrant, vivid and fantastical cast of characters. Styled as a "who-dunnit", this story is nevertheless a very realistic and accurate portrayal of 13th century Europe. (I have even seen The Name of the Rose on a recommended reading list for a university history course).
But besides been an accomplished writer, philosoph... Read more
Review:This was not the best book of the series. I really struggled to finish this book. Normally I finish a book in a day, this book took me 5 days to finish. I love almost all the other books in this series but this on just didn't do it for me. Can't wait for the next book. Read more
Review:I fell in love with Throttle and loved how Kimber brought the tough sexy outlaw to his knees. And I loved how Throttle showed Kimber that it was ok to let go of the past and love again. This book was a great addition to the Insurgents series, it has all of our favorite sexy bikers and their sweet ole ladies, plus new faces. And add in the mystery man going around stealing ladies underwear. Plus a fight here and there. That gives us an exciting story that you won't be able to put down. S... Read more

Review:I was so looking forward to this book. I'd never heard of the series but was enthralled and enjoyed all three of the initial books. Phedre is a unique and fascinating character. I couldn't wait for more. I was shocked to see Phedre was no longer the narrator in this book.
The young prince is a slightly interesting supporting character but I have absolutely NO DESIRE to read any books with him as the main character. I am very disappointed and will not be purchasing any more books in the... Read more

Review:I was so excited to see another book by Jacqueline Carey. But, I also wondered how she could churn out another one so quickly. Now I know. By sacrificing the story. I fell in love with Kushiel's Dart and have devoured each of the books in the series. But the depth of character and the careful plot development just aren't there this time around. Moirin is a little annoying. Things come to her so easily and she doesn't seem to work very hard at her gifts or grow very much from her experiences. An ... Read more
