Review:A great Russian classic but in the traditional Russian genre. Very descriptive writing of people and places with the "normal" tragic Russian ending. Turgenev easily captures the soul of Russian writers of the 18th century. Read more

Review:After a mission that leaves her battered, emotionally and physically, Munroe goes to Japan to spend some down-time with Bradford, her lover and head of the security firm she works for. When Bradford is jailed for murder she springs into action doing what she does best. If you don’t know the characters and the back story by now it’s too late. This is book six if you count the novella.
When I read the books I like to turn on Google-earth, on a 32 inch monitor, and “travel” along with the ch... Read more
Review:In Taylor Stevens 2013 novel The Doll, Stevens's super-heroine Vanessa Michael Munroe helps take down a human trafficking ring--that is, after she is captured by it. The problem is, she's not satisfied. One of the ring leaders is still out there. In the 2014 novella The Vessel, Munroe meticulously plots--and exacts--her revenge.
The Vessel is a stand-alone story, with enough back-story to give some context for first-time readers of Stevens's books. But it is best enjoyed in the contex... Read more
Review:I love the series, always have, but this book was all over the place. We don't really know what happened between those 10 years either, im kinda mad about that. There was really too much going on and not enough pages. Maybe they felt rushed to finish it, I hope 8 is more explanatory Read more
Review:This is the 4th in the Vanessa Michael Munroe series that starts with The Informationist: A Vanessa Michael Munroe Novel (Vanessa Michael Munroe Novels). I strongly recommend that you read at least that first book and probably also The Doll: A Novel before reading this book.
Munroe is a dark and complex character an... Read more
Review:I started reading The Doll in the morning. Luckily I'm on a road trip with my husband and he's the driver because, other than for a few necessary breaks, I didn't put it down. I read by the light of my IPad until I finished it at 2:00 AM. Heart stopping suspense, seriously evil villains, and a woman with skills in stalking, self-defense, deduction, weapons, to match any man. I loved the previous two Vanessa Munroe novels and The Doll did not disappoint. Make sure you carve out some reading time ... Read more
Review:Vanessa "Michael" Munroe is a dark loner, gifted in language acquisition, physically and mentally tough, but also very troubled. She is hired to get information and succeeds, and the reader is both fascinated with the quest and dying to know what Michael has learned. I love the cultural and political details as Michael travels throughout the world. She is a protagonist worth reading about and following! Be prepared for some sleepless nights as you can't put the book down! Read more
