Review:Silas Marner is a quick, short, beautiful, and touching read. Yes, high school freshman, once upon a time the English language had elegance and style. It once not only told what happened, but evoked emotion and sentiment. Being bored my genius says more about the reader than the author. If you find this classic boring, rest assured the failing is yours. Read more

Review:'All the Pretty Horses' is a very well written saga of a teenage boy from Texas, circa 1940s, wandering off down to Mexico with his buddy. Both guys are horsemen. Their Mexican adventure turns sour very quickly and they are then thrust into a mix of love, death and everything in between. The author's prose and characterizations are perfect. Review:No slow start in this thriller - the murder of a deputy and escape of a sadistic killer; the fortuitous find by the hunter, Moss, amidst the corps of a Mexican drugs war gone wrong; propels the reader into the heart of the action immediately. Review:THIS BOOK IS ONE OF THE ENGROSSING ONES THAT I HAVE READ LATELY. I FELT LIKE I WAS LIVING THE HARDSHIPS WITH THE BOY AND THE WOLF. BUT WHEN THE WOLF WAS KILLED, I CRIED AND FELT LIKE THE BOOK WAS ENDED FOR ME. BUT WHEN I READ THE SECOND PART, IT STILL WAS A SAD BOOK. WHILE I WAS VERY SAD ABOUT THE BOOK, I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS BOOK FOR ANYONE WHO REALLY GETS REALLY INVOLVED IN WHAT THEY ARE READING. Read more
Review:Though short in length, Outer Dark is a deep and lengthy exposition on the antiquated and rural American experience. McCarthy skillfully frays and interweaves a set of storylines occurring around the turn of the 20th century, though since it takes place in an isolated and unnamed countryside, it may as well be placed in the 19th century.
The story is based around the familial dissolution between Culla Holme and his sister Rinthy. Living together in rural isolation and upon the birth of he... Read more
Review:No markings on pages. However, all the pages were very yellowed and saturated with the odor of stale cigarettes. I'm assuming the smoke caused the yellowing of the pages. I dont mind the smell very much myself, but I would advise a non-smoker to be aware of this before buying. Read more
