Review:This book tells MC's early years. From his medical studies, when he wrote novels using pseudonyms to support himself to some of his adventures, some you wouldn't imagine.
If you like his books, you should read this one to get to know him a little bit more even though it is a pretty old book, he should write a newer Bio. Read more
Review:Very interesting and exhaustively researched treatise on the early exploration of Everest, with comprehensive coverage of the historical and political context. The only downside is that it can be pretty hard keeping mental track of all the players and their back stories. Read more

Review:Ghost, the main character's chosen nickname, is the first of an anticipated series of books that will set an elite middle school track team on a trajectory toward qualifying for the Junior Olympics. It was a 2016 National Book Award Finalist for Young People's Literature. Ghost takes you inside the head of a middle school boy with a past in danger of getting expelled from school unless he can control his temper, find the courage to tell the truth and share his secrets with his team mates. Review:I've read most reviews, and I'd like to cover a few of the complaints as reasonably as I can.
This is a TEEN sci-fi book. The characters, to those who are going to read it, are plenty depthful; that's really how kids are these days. Seriously, we don't have too many "depthful" thoughts at that age, no matter how smart a teen is or how many special abilities we have. In fact, most of the characters are probably more depthful than real teens.
And about the frusterating thing with th... Read more

Review:This book exhibits a great behind the scenes of elite gymnastics and ice skating of issues such as eating disorders, training and competing through injuries, body image, pressure from parents and coaches, etc. This book is a great read if you are a fan of either sport although it depicts a bit of a negative and stereotypical picture for both sports, times have indeed changed and have become better with respect to coaching and caring for athletes. Review:This is a gorgeous book with a wonderfully put together list of places to travel. Having been to a few of these, I can say they truly deserve a space on the list. This book definitely gives me major wanderlust. It would be an excellent coffee table book or gift for any intrepid traveller, or really for anyone that appreciates the diversity of beautiful places throughout the world. HOWEVER, my book arrived with several blank pages, I'm assuming due to a printing error. Destinations #4, 5, 7, 8, 1... Read more
Review:The book The Long Way Home by Andrew Klavan is a continuation of the first book, The Last Thing I Remember, in the Homelanders series. I particularly enjoyed this book because of the action mixed with mystery. The main character, Charlie West, being a fugitive accused of killing his best friend Alex, allows for constant action. In the first book, Charlie wakes up strapped to a chair, not remembering the past year. In this book, he is always either being chased by the police, or trying to fig... Read more
