True Crime
Review:I wanted to love this. I love Connelly's Bosch and Lincoln Lawyer series but this was so poorly edited it was unreadable beyond the engaging introduction
.
By reprinting multiple articles on the same case he was repeating the same facts over and over. There's a good story to be told in the background of his novels - some of which I recognized - but it needs a narrative that isn't found here.

Review:I cannot praise this book highly enough. It was a wonderful read. After seeing the movie I was compelled to read the book. It did not disappoint.
The story was wonderful since it was based on a true story. This is a must read. Read more
Review:A highly technical read!! Kudos to the author for all of his supportive issues regarding U-2 flying, since that was a prelude to outer space travel. The main theme was also well done - the three spies who were exchanged on the bridge. I felt like I had known them personally after reading their "biographies". So very sad of how our government treated Gary Powers after all was said and done!! He died doing what he had always wanted to do - flying!! I recommend this book to anyone who is inte... Read more

Review:I mean, I wanted to read exclusivly about the formative days of the mob, about Luciano and the guys that started it in New York. everything that happens after the 1950s bores me, just as everything that happens in any other place than Manhattan Island pretty much does. This book is two thirds devoted to 1980 and afterwards. Those modern-day guys bore me, they have no imagination, and they all wanted to be famous after the movie ' The Godfather'. I dont want to hear about who was influenced by "T... Read more
Review:The reviews here give a pretty accurate description of this book. Stewart is a very engaging writer and rarely gets bogged down in irrelevant details or pointless digressions. He is a writer any journalist would want to emulate.
However, the big drawback is that he is too negative and seems and makes it seem that Wall Street serves no function other than to make the richer richer. In fact, junk bonds and hostile takeovers can have significant benefits for the economy. Furthermore, Mil... Read more
Review:Although this book is sexually explicit it is a most important and historic book. Despite the fact that author Sinclair has had, to put it mildly, a checkered past, I found this book to be totally credible, truthful and believable. The American people have seen since the publication of Sinclair's book that Obama is a corrupt and lying individual. He uses tax payer money for campaigning across America, all the while denying it, he uses dead people's Social Security numbers, forged documents to "p... Read more
Review:Takes a bit sort thru all the characters and what is happening .. Then settle in for a real feel period piece of just how close media and law enforcement were. Crime scenes of today do not exist in this who done it.

Review:Savannah's mystery man, Jim Williams comes to life on these pages. I welcomed the chance to delve into his life and learn about Jim as the brilliant business man that he was. The story explores Jim's friends and his life style. It also seems like a firm base to keep retrying Jim for murder time after time. Why was Jim so fascinated with Danny Hansford? That question was never truly answered. One secret Jim took with him to his grave. Interesting, well written story. Read more
Review:I enjoyed this story slot. It was interesting to meld the guilt that the author shared with his protagonist who is not just a liar but a murderer. However the real story was what exactly drove a reasonably intelligent man to murder his entire family. There were some explanations put forward but I'm not sure I really could ever understand such twisted thinking Read more
