Review:Another hit in the Dresden Files. Where does it stop? Jim Butcher gets better and better. I could not put this book down, because the action was as fast as you expect it in these series and the humor was right there where you needed it. The reader gets to know Molly a bit better and her talents develop during the book. But Harry stays alone and lonely. I am looking forward to the next book. Will Harry find his soul mate? Read more
Review:While I've enjoyed the Divine series by Mr. Forbes, this is a disaster. The lead character is pathetic, barely functioning and just not someone to relate to. I actually kept hoping he'd get killed. I couldn't even finish the book. Read more
Review:Great characters that hold their own. Fast paced action that's neither overly descriptive nor vague. Can see author evolve his writing style as well as the characters and macro story line. The best of the series yet. Cant wait to start the next episode. Read more
Review:Jim Butcher once again brings Harry Dresden through another wild ride. Small Favor reads very well and is fun. Not my personal favorite of the the Dresden files though, I prefer when Harry's dog (mouse) is portrayed more prominently. In all continue reading the Dresden Files, great series. Read more
Review:It was nice to see the new short story that takes place right after Harry gets shot and goes missing. I was expecting more. As a stand alone story about Murphy, it worked and was OK. The old stories, re printed are all ok as well. I want more about his old partner. What ever happen to him? Am I glad I own it, yes. It is always fun and an enjoyable read. Read more
Review:I really enjoyed going back and forth between the past in the Wilds and the present in NYC.
There were several things about the ending that really frustrated me, and I did not like at all, but hey, this is a trilogy. The second book is required to have major cliffhangers, and especially ones that make you unhappy -- there have to be those resolutions in the last book.
Not a favorite, but I cannot wait for the last book to come out! Read more
Review:I have loved Diana Wynne Jones for years (gad! over 25 of them). Each book is a unique pearl, well written, engaging, and delightful fun. I heartily recommend all of her work and this one is no exception to that. Delightful. Read more
Review:These were my favorite scary stories to read as a kid. I recently pulled these books off the shelf and gave it a quick read, not as scary as when i was a kid, but it sure was fun reading it to my 3 daughters and giving them a taste of "scary stories." But i'm not going to lie, the artwork in these books still terrifies me.
They are now the books I take with us when we go on our family camping trips. reading the stories around the camp fire is nostalgic for me and terrifying for them, it's... Read more
Review:Books are in excellent shape and just as I remember as an elementary school kid opening them for the first time. My daughter loves them! Only issues is the collectors tin was damaged in transit. Two large debts in it! Read more
Review:Bought this set for my son. I was really excited to get it for him. The stories are the same, however the artist changed. I was a bit disappointed with that because i thought the original art was much more creepy than the new artist. But it is about the stories so I'm happy with the purchase. Read more
