Review:Unpredictable and provocative, this is a look at the intersection of gender, race, and power across time and continents. Like life, this novel is neither a dystopia nor a utopia as it explores questions of what it means to be human in a world of extraordinary possibilities. Read more
Review:being the first time ever reading a book in the setting of Nigeria, by a Nigerian author, i am very impressed by the strong ,beautifully written pages. The book really gives you a sense of what it's like being in a business mans house hold in Nigeria in the 1970s. it also sets the scene for a very abusive father and a family that is silent. this book provides many tense moments, as well as very joyous moments that make you smile. This book is very good at covering both ends of the spectrum, and ... Read more
Review:PT does a wonderful job with his first book. Easy to read, moves along fast, movie like at times, a bit of wodunit, a lot of mystery and suspense, surprising twists and turns, strong characters both men and women, and cliffhangers.
A great start to what may turn out to be a fun series. My kudos to PT for writing a fantastic book. Great cover too.
PT has also recorded this process of writing this book over on youtube. Check it out: [...]

Review:Apparently I'm the only one that thought "The Things They Carried" by this author was ridiculous. Well, because I bought "In the Lake of the Woods" at the same time, I had to read it. I was sometimes just as confused by this book as the previous one. There is no doubt Tim O'Brien is a talented writer, but he is so far "out there" I don't enjoy his writing. This book focuses on the atrocities at My Lai and the main character's participation in them. I believe my Viet Nam Marine Corps husband... Read more
Review:This series started out great. I was really hooked on the first book. This one, the author describes life on the ships of the US Navy. More than half the book is spent on mundane day to day details of helicopter flying, ship maneuvers ! The space could have been used to describe the Chinese war efforts rather than page filler. Book moves extremely slowly. Only towards the end does the action pick up just to end on another cliffhanger. Till the next book then ? Read more
Review:This book is the perfect blend of fiction based on a very-real factual setting for the Vietnam War and a form of 'magic realism' akin to Gabriel Garcia Marquez to tell a powerful story and make a powerful condemnation of the war. What's most impressive is that this book was written before O'Brien had cut his teeth on later more successful books like 'Things They Carried.'
Some reviewers have complained about the distortion caused by the intertwining storylines and shifts in time and focus, b... Read more

If Kelly Elliott wrote it, I read it, and I most likely five starred it. If you have never picked up a Kelly Elliott book, you have done yourself a disservice.
If I could give this book more than 5 stars I would. Taylor is so sweet and innocent and Jase.. damn that man.. How does the author manage to write such romantic men?
I adored every element of this book. The book moved fast and if you’ve read the others in th... Read more
Review:I received this book as an Advanced Review Copy but I'm voluntarily leaving this review. This is book 4 of the Inked Heart series by Crystal Kaswell. The whole series is excellent. You can tell she puts alot of her heart and soul into all her books but this book I feel is more touching than the others. Chloe and Dean go through some tough breaks but don't worry it's one of those hea books. This is definitely a book I would recommend. It has comedy, romance, drama and some really hot sex scenes. ... Review:I bought this book for my boyfriend, a medical student at SUNY Downstate in Brooklyn, NY. Although I am not a medical student, I heard that this book is a must-read for men going to be doctors or are doctors. The book is supposed to give doctors a feeling of, "Yes, that is exactly how it all works" (in reference to the social/emotional/sexual interactions of being a doctor). Its not very long but it offers a lot and is cheap. I plan on reading it too! Read more
