Review:This short story did hold my attention. I would have liked to hear more about Martha's recovery and beauty's life after Nancy's departure. I pray for the children of abuse. I gave it 3 stars bc there were a few words / phrases that were seemingly not correct grammar (deaf trap). Read more
Review:John Irving loves Charles Dickens and often is compared to Charles Dickens. But Dickens, sloppy as his writing could be, knew how to craft real characters and a real plot. Irving crafts interesting trash, each bag of which resembles the last bag of trash he crafted.
If you are only going to read one Irving novel -and you need read only one- it should be "The Hotel New Hampshire." While "The World According to Garp" is Irving's best book, THNH combines all of John Irving's faults into on... Read more
Review:This book felt like parts were missing, the character development felt jerky. It is not up to her usual standard and I could tell just what was coming next. I didn't look, but wonder now if it was a very early novel just re-released. Read more

Meredith Mancuso is depressed since her fiancé passed away. She has withdrawn from the world and her writing career has ground to a halt. She has become a recluse and heartbreak just might send her to an early grave. Until her sister shows up and makes her take Prozac—not the medicine, the dog. Here’s where it gets fun.

Review:Myself, vampires or werewolves, let alone zombies, oh my!, do not resonate in the silent, "gee, wow" way that makes sf or fantasy work - think the best Twilight Zone episodes.
Steve Stirling has a gift for identifying with seriously evil villains, then making them characters that scare you to nightmares without losing that strand of understood, shared humanity (there but for grace go I).
I don't know any Twilight fans well enough to ask if Steve hits their chords, but his sorta vam... Read more
Review:This was a great sequel to Chocolat with enough new material to make it interesting. I would recommend it to holiday readers. The only issue I had was that as I have seen the movie Chocolate Johnnie Depp is not a read head! Read more
Review:Hold on to your hearts ladies because Darren will waltz right in and steal it from your chest. Who doesn't love a cocky, sexy, confident fireman?? That's right. We get all that and more with Darren and Vanessa's journey. This book was so very good. I read it all in one sitting. It was definitely worth the long wait.
Darren is a Playboy that has a different woman every day of the week. He has no desire to be in a relationship. He never wants to be tied down. The one girl that is off limit... Read more
Review:Wow. Sizzling hot. Not only one hot dominant, but two. Every woman's wildest dream. Meredith knocked it out of the park. I read it twice and may go back for the third round. Loved the way it ended, but was always rooting for Ian, my favorite. Thank you Meredith for another wonderful read and for taking me away for my crazy life for a while. Ladies, if you haven't bought this book, you are truly missing out. Read more
Review:I was assured that the series would pick up by the third book. While some slight improvements have been made (allies are no longer the main hindrance, Harry is facing some of his many character flaws) the story isn't much better. Still too much reliance on weak premises for conflict (how many times is he going to drop his staff and wand?) , deus ex machina, and flat characters. I really want to like these book but I just don't. The premise is fantastic then is wasted on poorly conceived foes ... Read more
