Review:The binding was a little messed up. It was coming apart a little bit on the inside and the outer top corner was smashed in. But, hey the book itself is a great read and I recommend you buy it if you like horror graphic novels. Just don't get it from this seller. Read more

Home From the Sea (Elemental Masters)

Review:I liked this story- then again I generally like anything that Lackey writes. She takes an interesting turn when she discusses Selkies. Lackey is always fun to read. I was put off at first by a few poor reviews that I had read but am now glad I downloaded this to my Kindle. Read more

A Study in Sable (Elemental Masters)
A Study in Sable (Elemental Masters)

Review:I found the connection between new and existing characters rushed and underdeveloped. Also found certain aspects of the plot felt forced and out of character. M. Lackey has been a favorite author for some time but this story could have easily done with better development of the characters. This book relies to an incredible degree to the characterization and development found in the previous book. If you had not read the first book there would be no connection or understanding of the main cha... Read more

Small Wonder: Essays
Small Wonder: Essays

Review:In the beautiful language and description readers have come to expect from Barbara Kingsolver, she addresses in this collection of essays her concerns for society and the environment. The book reminded me of how crucial these issues are and simple ways that I can lead my life that will work towards a solution to the problems, rather than being a contributor. I've bought several copies for gifts because a book this wonderful begs to be shared. Read more

Text and Criticism (Viking Critical Library) - White Noise

Review:I found this book to be incredibly boring. Full disclosure--I didn't even get to the "good stuff" because I couldn't get past chapter 20. I know sometimes you have to wait a little bit for things to pick up, but if you've read half the book and still nothing is really happening, then I'm not sure it's worth it to push through. I know this is a well-respected book, and I can appreciate what it is doing in terms of commentary and style, it just wasn't for me. Read more

Wit and Wisdom from Poor Richard's Almanack (Dover Thrift Editions)

Review:Only after reading this does it become blatantly obvious how enlightened Ben really was. As a non-american, you hear very little about who the man was, however this book really shows his effortless brilliance. Read more

August 1914
August 1914

Review:Totalitarianism. It’s not a concept that we are very familiar with; those of us who have been born free. The sludge of fear, every decision weighed not against what is good and just and right, but instead against what the ‘powers’ will think; the battle to deny self but not lose your spirit in the process – tiny acts of rebellion unidentifiable to the minders but nevertheless something that is your own, a fake accent or a carefully planned ‘accident’; not sabotage but just orchestrated carelessn... Moll Flanders
Moll Flanders

Review:This book is a classic, written tongue in cheek and sometimes overly wordy. It is an entertaining story of a lady rogue who struggles to survive in London during the 1700s. She is without a profession, but not without guile. Read more

The Legend of Zelda: Art & Artifacts
The Legend of Zelda: Art & Artifacts

Review:This is an amazing art dump from the entire Zelda series history. Any official art you could think of, printed crisply with great colors—no blurring from taking art and blowing it up too large. And huge! Over 400 pages, and it weighs a ton! Read more
