Review:I almost bought this edition before double-checking and, sure enough, I already have it: it is the famous "Completed by the Spirit-Pen of Charles Dickens" version. Which is also available in the "Droodiana" section of the Delphi e-edition of Dickens's Complete Works, along with three other versions from the 1870s. Review:Mostly fascinating book about Charles Dickens' composition of his famous CHRISTMAS CAROL. Very interesting parts about the publication world of his time, so very very different than ours....and that Dickens was not always a success and wrote fast and sometimes angrily against the ghost of bankruptcy which had thrown his father in jail and changed Charles at the age of ten from a middle class young scholar to a penniless factory boy, first awakening Dickens to the misery of the poor. Review:This was a gift intended for someone, and it wasn't quite what I wanted. I believe that is because I misread the information prior to ordering. I wil use it as a gift for another person who loves to read, but it wasn't right for my boss, for whom I originally meant to give it. Read more
Review:DO NOT BUY THIS BOOK! ! ! ! Let me rephrase... do not buy THIS COPY of this book. It does NOT have page numbers, it is NOT ANNOTATED in any way, and there is no viable punctuation!
Dickens is great, but the book, but get a BN copy or, if you're an academic, get a Norton Critical. This is clearly printed in some dude's basement and is a RIP OFF if you're trying to do anything worthy with it. 100% do not buy Read more
