Review:But entertaining.
Jon Ronson does his best to investigate a bizarre corner of the U.S. government; the psychics of the intelligence community. To get there, he interviews veterans of the programs, and LTC (ret) Jim Channon, author of First Earth Battalion Operations Manual (which is very central to what Ronson found out and his interpretation of what he learned).
Drug experiments, meditation,... Read more
Review:A well written history that covers those early months of WWII in the Pacific. The author captures the uncertainty and confusion immediately following the attack on Pearl Harbor through the US Navy's recovery with its victory at Midway. I also appreciated the insight given to key leaders on both sides. Read more
Review:As a writer of non-fiction myself, I have recently rediscovered Bradbury. I read his science fiction before I ever started writing (forty-some years ago!)and I am delighted to be led to him again by my Fiction Writing teacher, Marshall Cook, who recommended this book. It is not only informative but also a great inspiration and aid to beginning writers as well as experienced ones. Reading this book sent me back to Amazon for MORE BRADURY!

Review:This book was required reading for me in art college. It is very detailed and accurate, but like most artistic human anatomy books it falls into the category of being too detailed and does not address the human skeleton as a figure in motion or as a series of counterweights.
It is a fantastic anatomy book that I breeze through for extra support every now and then, but I find myself going to "Bridgman's Drawing from Life" more often. Read more
Review:I'm glad I got this three volume set instead of the all-in-one book, which is way too thick and heavy to carry around easily. It's probably also much cheaper than the ones sold in most college bookstores. These books were in good condition as described by the seller, and arrived quickly. Read more

Review:A riveting tale of how a common citizen of modest heritage rose to the task of leading the United States, as well as the Allied Powers of the free world, to conclude President Roosevelt's years of effort to win the war. Read more
Review:Back when I was beginning a career in motion picture development, a 7 page memo from someone in the story department at Disney started making the rounds, explaining how the elements of Joseph Campbell's The Hero's Journey could be used in writing scripts. The author of the memo was Chris Vogler and here he's fleshed out the points into a powerful book that ties the power of mythology into interesting and easy-to-understand ways to use that power in telling our stories, using examples from curre...
