Dirty: A Dive Bar Novel (Dive Bar Series Book 1)
Dirty: A Dive Bar Novel (Dive Bar Series Book 1)

Review:What a crazy ride with this one, lol. I laughed, cried, almost cursed a couple of times, all in all really good.

I liked Lydia and Vaughn together, I think they balanced each other out really well. Truthfully I wanted to kick Vaughns behind a couple of time, but he got it together, lol. I enjoyed the supporting cast, really good Read more

Foucault's Pendulum
Foucault's Pendulum

Review:An investigative novel for the intellectual. Traces the West's search for the Holy Grail of Universal Truth via the post-modern exploits of a trio of editors in Italy searching for plot and narrative amongst the elusive histories of the alchemical and esoteric Templars. Secret societies whose absence proves their existence (or else they wouldn't be secret)! Secret knowledge, the inscrutability of which proves its depth! Unless you are an European intellectual yourself, you will need a dictionary... Read more

Review:I absolutely LOVE this author. Once I start her books I just can't put them down. I completely love how she has her characters interact. I love the little surprises at the end. My poor animals hate when I start her books as I am totally in the book zone LOL. Will ALWAYS read her books. Read more

Review:Some heavy issues and decisions in this one, and I ended up in tears, both the happy and sad kind (so be warned). ?? I loved the writer’s ability to put the reader IN the situations and really make them think about how they’d handle a myriad of dilemmas. Great characters, emotional angst, but in the end it’s a question of faith and forgiveness and how difficult those things are at times. Simply lovely writing here. Looking forward to reading more from this author...happy I discovered her! 4.5/5⭐... Read more

Flaubert and Madame Bovary
Flaubert and Madame Bovary

Review:A masterpiece.

Writers of sex could all benefit by reading the carriage scene where the reader is aware of what the couple in the carriage are doing and yet the reader never once gains a look inside.

Oh, I am not saying anything against the writing of open door sex scenes. I am just saying that Gustave Flaubert created more sensuality though only writing of what happens outside of the carriage. The reader sees the couple getting into the carriage, the driver and horses and the ext... Read more

Review:Like french movies, this book was not about happy endings and a happy storyline. It was a sad, raw, human book. As much as I was disgusted by the actions of the some of the characters, I still enjoyed every minute of reading this book because the storyline is interesting and has a great flow. Read more

Life and Fate (New York Review Books Classics)
Life and Fate (New York Review Books Classics)

Review:Although initially touted as one of the most important novels of the twentieth century, the book is nevertheless a difficult read. This is Soviet Realism at its best, and it far exceeds in novelistic terms such efforts as Cement, by Gladkov and similar works. A modernized Dr. Zhivago it ain't, though. It's often compared to War and Peace, but except for the confusing array of characters and the wartime setting, I found little grounds for that. There really is no personalized love story, and it's... Read more
