Teen & Young Adult
Review:4.5 stars
The book starts out very disconnected. There is a lot to take in. You have to spend some time with the book to figuring things out. It helps to know a little about the book is prior to delving in: it’s a first-person account of a teenage boy’s descent into mental illness. In the first few chapters, you will find that Caden is experiencing hallucinations and is having a difficult time discerning between those and reality.
The chapters seem so incohesive but the effect ... Read more
Review:Magistralmente Veronica Roth lleva la historia a un inesperado final. No acabo de salir de mi asombro... Además, como un extra, da muchos temas para reflexionar. Una trilogía sumamente recomendable. Read more
Review:This is the complete set of Eva Pohler's Gatekeeper's saga. I have read each one in the series, and I have loved them all. It's a great new twist on Greek gods in a modern day world. We see the story begin with Therese as a teenager. She's mourning the loss of her parents in a car accident in which they are all involved in. Amid the accident, she has an in between life and death moment in which she meets Thanatos, the god of death. Than is immediately intrigued with her because no one has ever r... Read more
Review:One of the pure joys of my reading/listening time recently has been the audiobook of J.K. Rowling’s Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find them narrated by Newt Scamander himself, Eddie Redmayne. This was a wonderful surprise – I really wasn’t expecting it to be as entertaining as it was. This is a “revised edition” film tie-in, to include an additional footnote by Scamander commenting on the events of the film and implying more editions will be released as more Fantastic Beasts films are released... Review:I usually hate werewolf books but this one was actually pretty good. I especially liked how it was romantic but not to the point where it is overpowering. I liked how it wasn't another twilight series where the girl has to choose between two guys or something like that and it didn't include vampires or other supernatural human hybrids. Read more
Review:While I loved (LOVED!) the Chaos Walking trilogy, I didn't like this story at all. The Viola in this story is more of a "typical teenager" than she is in the books -- all she did was whine, mope about, not appreciate what her parents and others did for her, and whine. Did I mention whine? Because she sure did whine.
Maybe younger folks are interested in reading about characters like that, but older ones might want to skip this (even though it's free).
It is a YA book/story, so I'm ... Read more

Review:Fantasy of Fire – DO NOT Interrupt Me I’m Reading
St Clare tells a fantastical tale, “Against All Odds” the battle of good against evil…if it doesn’t break you, it will make you stronger. I was shown two+ worlds and the struggle for control, combined with this, the characters and the conflicts they faced made for emotional, interesting and exciting reading. I actually LOL on occasion. This book has it all sci-fi, fantasy, romance, mystery, drama, humour and action.
I thoroughly enjoyed ... Read more

Review:The Covenant books are amazing! Read this prequel first, and then enjoy the next 3 books and 1 novella- you're in for a treat. The characters personalities shine through the pages. Alex, the heroine is complex, tough, and funny- I love her. The action and adventure and romance add up to a perfect set of books. Read more
